Bacio at The Tropicana ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So good we had to come back the next day! During our staycation at the Tropicana, we decided to try Bacio. Because their advertisements were absolutely beautiful! The first day we ordered the Cronut French Toast. It came with caramel apples and cinnamon chantilly cream. This French Toast felt like taking a bite from a breakfast apple pie. Next up was the Filet Oscar Benedict, which was fantastic. The bacon brioche paired perfectly with the beef! It was as savory as it could get! When we came back the next day we decided to try their famous pictured Pork Belly Waffle and the Beef Belly Sliders. The sliders were delicious, a perfect combination of beef, scrambled eggs, and mushrooms. We've had the savory, time for the sweet! The pork Belly waffle was such a treat! The pork was a little cooler than I expected but that didn't mean it wasn't flavorful. The banana compote and pecan brittle really complemented the already complex flavors. This is a must for brunch if you're staying on the strip!
Chica at The Venetian ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Came in on a friends recommendation (he’s been in 6 times since Chica opened, three months ago). We started with the Arepa basket which had such an amazing variety of flavors (bean, cilantro, beet, and cheese). Great starter and perfect for sharing.
Followed by the empanadas and the Chica fries. Their empanadas had a cracker like texture and were paired with a flavorful guacasaca pico. The fries were perfectly crispy and the huancaina sauce was thick, gritty, and rich.
The main course was the braised short rib. It was so tender, it seemed to melt in your mouth. The accompanying black eyed peas were served two ways with oil.
Dessert was the churro ice cream pops. Three individual scoops of vanilla ice cream covered in graham style crumbs with fresh cream on top of caramel with a little churro sticking out of each one. Delicious and not too overly sweet.
We are already planning our trip back and we’re bringing our friends!
