Home For Christmas
mia--francis:
Mia stood at the bottom of the stairs and waited for Noah. “Come on, I’ll find you some towels,” she said, nodding her head up towards the landing. Her hand reached for his without even really thinking about it. “Let the little ones do their stockings, mum,” she said from the stairs as she walked up and out of sight. April, Ollie and Jake burst out in cheers and were in the living room before their mum could even agree. Once they reached the top of the stairs, Mia’s mind was mostly consumed with the idea fo kissing Noah while they had a few moments alone. Her cheeks flushed and instead she opened the airing cupboard and found some towels for him. “We got a new shower but it’s really easy to use,” she said, turning back to Noah and biting down slightly on her bottom lip. “Just.. Give me a shout if you get stuck or.. something..”
Noah smiled slightly at their hands. 24 hours ago, he’d been worried that Mia would refuse to so much as talk to him, and yet here they were, holding hands and talking like nothing had changed between them. Except it had, and Noah knew it was only a matter of time before reality came crashing down on them again. For now, however, he was going to enjoy his christmas. “Thanks.” Noah took the towels from Mia once she’d got them from the airing cupboard. A small smirk appeared on his lips as she talked. “Sure you don’t want to join me?”
