ć«ć²ćć¦ćļ½ć¹ (CLOSED w/ Alvin & Atlus)
"Red, weāve still got about a case and a half full of water⦠do you want one? I can getā¦"
Oh, he must be taking a rest⦠butā¦
Atlus walked over and looked at him. Red was sleeping soundly⦠almost too soundly. It was hard to see if he was breathing or not, but he wasnāt panting anymore⦠he didnātā¦
"Red?" Atlus said quietly, kneeling down next to him. He didnāt really know where to check for a dogās pulse, but if he remembered right, it was somewhere under the elbow, on the chest, but Red was more human-looking than an ordinary dog, andā¦
"Red? Red, please say something⦠oh godā¦" Atlus teared up. No matter where he felt, he got nothing. Nothing. His breath hitched and he started to cry. "Alvin?! Alvin, please help! I-Itās Red!ā
Restless. Alvin had lost all sense of time by now, and even though the clockās hands clearly rested around 9PM, he couldnāt get out of the noon mindset. The haze clouding his perception and circles under his eyes were the only things telling him that he hadnāt slept for quite a long time.
And he couldnāt. Not after Leonā¦
No. No thinking. Repetitive motions.Ā When Atlus was heading down to the apartment, he decided to check up on his work:Ā he had found a used motorcycle which he dedicated his āeveningsā to. Who knew how many hours he spent so far in the courtyardĀ polishing it, tweaking parts, repairing kinks. It numbed his mind and kept him from depressing himself.Ā He was even quite proud of it, and even though it was now fueled, he almost didnāt want to ride it, simply for the sake of keeping it pristine.
It took a second for him to jump to attention when he heard his name called out, and he was still a bit slow when he went down the stairs to check on the situation. He wiped his brow, āAtlus! Whatās up? Whatās wrong with Red?ā
⦠It was too quiet. No. No no no no no. He felt a headache coming on.
Red was still alive, but if things kept going this way, it didn't seem like that would be true for much longer. The heat put strain on the poor dog's body. His body went into defense mode, knocking the poor creature into a coma of sorts. A last resort to prevent the body from overworking itself, though it could only last so long without outside help.
Red couldn't do anything. He couldn't yell and say, "hey, I'm fine, I was just napping!" or anything. He just laid there. This wasn't a corny out of body experience, this was real life. As much as the duo wished Red would just come out of it, he wouldn't. Only time would tell if they'd save Red's life.
