“Alright, I guess that’s fine. No, not at all. I don’t even know his name, I don’t really know anyone around here to be honest.”
“Really? How long have you been here? You oughta have a friend or two. Or just, allies. Whatever you kids call it these days.”
“It’s better than him being locked up. That might make it worse.”
“It won’t be for a very long a time. He’ll be out in a couple of days, trust me, it’s for the best. Are you close to him or something?”
“Won’t that just make it worse?”
“Would you rather have him go around freely and possibly harm you?”

“Kid’s gone too far. We’re putting him in the solitary. For your own safety, too.”
“The voi-voices─” don’t tell him, he isn’t going to believe you, they taunted, but she spoke, still, “they k-kept telling me to hu-hurt someone, I ha-had to r-run..”
His sigh is hoarse, heavy, and he tries his best not to come off as too harrowing. For now, at least. “Get back inside. We’ll find someone to help.”
“I was getting claustrophobic.. and I had a nightmare. I just needed some air. Can I stay a little while longer?”
“Just a little longer. Don’t roam any further. Should I get a nurse? Give you something to help you sleep?”
“I fainted and hit my head. Well, at least, I think I fainted, it’s hard to remember,” he says, rubbing the side of his head. He wasn’t technically lying: It wasn’t really a lie to leave out the part of him locking his knees until passed out, right? “I woke up on the floor, and now my head really, really, hurts.”
By no means was this a peculiar spectacle, really, but Hunter took a step closer still--just to completely ensure that wasn’t some bullshit excuse. “Alright, c’mon. Let’s get back inside. You’re still not supposed to be here.” he cocked his head, waiting for the boy to follow.
“All I really want in life is chocolate chip cookies and it’s kind of breaking my heart that I don’t have any in front of me right now…”
“You’re certainly going to have a really tough time here if the mere lack of snacks is already breaking your heart.”
“I know, I know, but,uh, I need to see the infirmary. Like, right now.”
“Okay. What’s going on? The infirmary is way down there.”
“Are you going to send me back?”
“I’m afraid so. Why are you out here?”
“I just needed some fresh air, is all..”
“Make it quick, else I’d have you to take you back in.”
“Yeah well, panic attacks don’t give a shit about curfew, so.”
“Informative. Should I call for a nurse?”
“I had to get o-out of th-there.”
“What happened?”
“I was never one to follow the rules. Plus, I’m not twelve and I never go to bed at this time; I’m far too productive.”
"Not twelve and yet you refuse to follow the rules made for your own good, interesting. What are you even doing out here?”
"You shouldn’t be out here, it’s past curfew.”
“Do you guys have cameras in our rooms? I should probably be aware of exactly what you can see before I get settled in. I don’t trust any of you. But I’ll try for the second one.”
"Not exactly in your rooms. We’re here to keep an eye, not creep. Not me, at least. That’s good. That’s a start, at least. Kinda gets a little tiring to see you lot bustling around and sporting a scowl whenever you see one of us.”
“Severe troubles could ensue at any moment. You know, I could have a seizure right here from a lack of alcohol. I get that you guys are trying to help, but… it just sucks.”
"Which is why we’re keeping a close eye on all of you. It would’ve been even more difficult if we were more lenient, if we just permitted alcohol to go around unsupervised. We’re trying our best. Just try and trust us, alright? Or tolerate us, at the very least.”
