Shanghai was beautiful at night, seeing all of the lights and hearing the echoes fill the streets beneath- it was the perfect location. They were located at the top of one of the restaurant buildings and were actually alone. The breeze set the mood. Picking up his glass of wine, he peered down at it.Â
Astrid flew back from America and decided to visit, as this was arranged. Though due to her work back home she often couldnât stay long and they pursued their relationship via long distance. Which was absolutely find with him. He was usually slammed with his work.
She had been back in China for about a day and now they were finally able to meet up. Shifting his eyes to meet hers when she came into view through the elevator doors that led to the roof.Â
â Ah, Astrid.
    Come join me.â
Gesturing to the seat across from his own. A glass awaited her, already filled.
Astrid had been pacing a bit in the elevator as she waited on it to reach the roof, knowing it would open and Ozai would be there. She pulled her dress a bit, trying to make it fit better- it already fit right, didnât it? Yeah, for sure.
When it came to the roof, she quickly got into place so as not to look like a nervous wreck. Fortunately, just seeing him made her relax a little, and the sound of his voice soothed her. What was it about him that was just so... calming?
The wine was a welcome sight.
âOzai,â she greeted as she stepped out of the elevator, and walked over to the table.
As soon as she sat down, she had a sip of the wine. âGods, itâs... really good tâ see you,â she told him, smiling at him. It was clear she seemed somehow relieved suddenly.
More social media content, Ozaiâs twitter, a snap shot of a video call with Azula, and one of his Instagram posts.Â

The guards entered his throne room, prisoner in toe. Hues snaking towards the direction of his guests. Fire rising all around him from where he sat, but soon died down as he then rose to his feet. Descending down the steps. Arms behind his back and sleeves swaying along with his robes.
Rising a hand when he drew near and the guards stepped back.Â
Returning to their positions which gave the Lord some space.
â On your knees if you know whatâs good for you.âÂ
Demanding his âguestâ to show him the proper respect that those of his nation would always show him.Â
If she refused heâd make her, the guards were simply waiting on his command.
â Now, you will tell me everything as to why you were found at my Nationâs boarders.Â
If I find out youâre lying to me,Â
     Iâll have you executed immediately.âÂ
Astrid thrashed about in the guardsâ grasp, even trying to stomp on the foot of the one to her right. But when that failed, she allowed herself to be carried up to the Fire Lord.
It was only when she got a look at him that she decided sheâd really been fighting for nothing. He wasnât the sort she wanted to run from at all. No, in fact, he was the sort sheâd rather welcome with open arms.
And... an open mouth, perhaps.
As such, she easily bowed, and she smirked up at him.
âA bit eager to have me on my knees, arenât you? Any particular reason?â she flirted.
And the look on her face revealed the meaning behind her words, too. Her eyes danced with something mischievous, and a suggestive smirk tugged at her lips.
huozaaiâ:
â Itâs far deeper than that and you canât help me fix it.
 IâŚI donât like himâ
    I hate my own son.â
He outwardly confessed. There were feelings inside that he had bottled up and their endless fighting whether in person or via text was getting to him.Â
These feelings are ones he has felt for so longÂ
no matter how hard he tried to fix it.
He was nearing to explode and when she gave him almost permission to react, he took it as an opportunity to let it all out. Inform her of his inner issues.
â Itâs like I am looking in the mirror at myself.Â
 Weâre too much alike.Â
Now is it human to hate your own flesh and blood?!â
Sharply Ozai inquired as he hunched over as he sat near her on the bed. Face going blank as the next words fell from his lips.
â I guess I now understand how my father felt about me.âÂ
Astrid nodded a little as she listened to him, a soft frown on her lips. It was the sort that said she felt his pain. After all, didnât she hate her own sister? Her arm wrapped around him, and she pulled him into her side gently.
She stayed silent so he could talk, but she did lean over to kiss his head.
His next words concerned her far more. First, the immediate realisation that, if he hated Zuko because he was too similar to himself... he must hate himself. The thought stung her, made her chest ache for him.
Then he mentioned his father, and it was like she felt something inside her break. Gods, she didnât think she could have been prepared for that, no matter what.
So, when he finished, she reached out to cup his cheek. âHey,â she started out, her tone gentle.
âListen... I hate my sister. It is definitely not inhuman tâ hate someone in your family. Sometimes, they wrong you, and that ainât your fault at all. But also... yeah, sometimes we see the parts of us we donât like in âem.â
That was when she started to smile. âBut... that donât mean youâre only those things. Personally, I think you gotta a lot of good qualities, too.â
huozaaiâ:
Her compliments barely triggered a response from him, he was just at a loss on how to respond. She was strange indeed, but needless to say very interesting. It did feel nice that she showed up for his birthday, even so late, when no one else wouldâve. He was enjoying her company now.Â
Not feeling so alone.
A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.Â
Blinking momentarily before he parted his lips to speak.
â Yes, you can.
Would you like me to pour you another glass?â
Soon offered as he gestured to the other two bottles he had near them. And when she made her little comment, he chuckled some what.Â
â But do you think you could handle me?â
Astrid couldnât help but smile more when she saw him begin to. Should she be trying to get out, by now? Absolutely. The softness she felt in her when he smiled was... it was something she knew to get away from whenever she began to feel that. It was better to be a little hurt then, to hurt the other a little, than to both end up far more hurt in the end.
But, like him... that feeling of being alone was chased away when they were together. For a moment, or for however long, she could feel normal, and... and like this wasnât likely to all go up in smoke.
âThat would be great,â she said, smirking and looking over at the other bottles. Before she could request one, however, he had asked that question, and her smirk darkened into something more mischievous.
Astrid leaned down onto the bar, her arms resting on it so she could look him in the eye- or at least slightly up into his eyes.
âI know I wanna find out,â she said, her voice smooth. âYou wanna let me?â
Ozai honestly believed sex was for breeding purposes only and then @huntingchaosâs Astrid walks in. Proving him absolutely wrong.
:) hi :)
huozaaiâ:
Seeing her message, he was already out of his office. Descending down the silent, dim, halls. He had a rather smug expression as he made his way out of his building. Leaving security to lock up and giving his goodbyes for the night.Â
Once he made his way to his car he sat in the drivers seat. Gloved hand searching for his cell and he flipped open the full message.Â
Text: [Â â You will not regret it, I promise you.â ]
Text: [Â â Well, I am heading home and will be going to bed. I have work in the morning. Good night, Astrid.â ]
Closing his phone he then proceeded to drive himself home.
Astrid flicked back to his messages when she saw them come in, and she grinned, biting her lip. That should have been a sign for her to back out, but she couldnât make herself. He was already earning such expressions from her... She should run. She should really run. She should cancel the whole thing, just get out of there while she-
âu promise, huh? iâll hold u 2 it ;pâÂ
Well. One night couldnât be so bad, could it?

huozaaiâ:
â Donât tell me what to do. Sleep, sleep they always tell me to sleep it off.Â
I come over and you are trying to make me sleep.Â
You donât even offer me a drink.âÂ
Mumbling and attempting to sound very upset.
He shot her a look as she attempted to force him into bed. Though heâd never admit that the bed was rather comfortable and he was unwinding.Â
His voice growing weaker and strained. His eye lids heavy and he could barely see. For once he was being rather still.
He was tiredâŚ
Astrid chuckled softly at his protest, and didnât stop trying to get him situated in the bed. She pressed a quick kiss to his lips, trying to be soothing.
âI didnâ offer you a drink because youâre already drunk, doll,â she teased him, sliding him down into the bed better. Once that was done, she stood and got a couple pain pills and a glass of water, taking them to the nightstand beside his head.
After this, she went and grabbed a trash can, which she emptied, and then brought to set beside him on the floor.
âAlright, I got you some Advil for in the morninâ, âcause your headâs gonna be killinâ you, and thereâs a trash can here in case your stomach is too, cool?âÂ
With that, she kicked off her shoes, turned out the last light, and went to crawl into the bed beside him.Â
huozaaiâ:
The action disorientated him for a moment and he still kind of looked dazed even after he began to register what she was doing, allowing her to guide himÂ
â Thatâs what I was going to do, sit down, but the wall got in the way.âÂ
He corrected her, slurring his words. Pointing directly in her face, close enough to maybe even poke her. But the gravity pulled his arm back down.
At one point he seemed to put all of his weight on her, not on purpose. When he was forced to sit down, he kind of collapsed on the bed groaning and muttering to himself. Hand rubbing at his face.Â
â The lights in here are fucking bright.âÂ
Then he spat out with it. Failing his arms out for a moment. Furrowing his brows as he attempted to look threatening even in his very intoxicated state.
â I donât trust you, what do you want from me?
Why are you trying to make me sleep? âÂ
Astrid chuckled at his finger in her face, and she moved forward to press a quick, playful kiss to his finger.
She shook her head and grunted as he dropped all his weight on her. âGods, youâre heavy,â she mumbled to herself.Â
Once he was on the bed, she started taking off his shoes. âIâm not tryinâ to get anythinâ from you,â she said. âYouâre drunk and you need to sleep it off. Trust me or donât, but youâre gonna feel like shit if you donât get some sleep.â
Clearly, she was entirely unintimidated. Astrid stood and turned out the overhead lights, leaving on a lamp that cast a dull glow in the room. She walked back to him then, and started trying to put his legs under the blankets.
âJust get some sleep, doll,â she said gently, smiling up at him in a soft sort of way. âIâll make sure tâ have some pain meds ready for your head in the morninâ, and Iâll have a trashcan here, too. Looks like youâre gonna have a helluva hangover.â

Fourth is- Astrid and Shi Jin- unlikely friendsÂ

@huozaai CONTINUED.
Astrid blinked a couple times. Oh yes, he was very drunk.
She gave a sigh and a small shake of her head as he started to stumble inside, and that turned into stifled chuckling at the way he walked right into her wall. The jacket, understandably, earned a similar response from her.Â
âAlright, hot shot,â she teased him, walking over to wrap an arm around his waist and pulling his arm around her shoulder. âYou ainât goinâ anywhere tonight. Come sit down.â
She walked over to the bed in her apartment, sitting him down on it and sighing as she sat by his feet. âIâm gonna get you ready tâ lay down and get some sleep, aâight?â
huozaaiâ:
â He has been rather difficult lately. I believe you are right.
He just wanted to get a reaction out of me and he got one.âÂ
He confessed, shifting his gaze across the room away from her. Ashamed he let those words get to himâ a moment of weakness. Â
 It was not like him.
Brows lifting as his expression began to relax. Though his jaw remained stiff- grinding slightly.Â
â I shouldnât let him get to me as much as I let him.âÂ
It was foolish, his hopes and dreams for his son. Long since shattered.
Astrid chuckled softly at the way he looked away from her, and then gave a small shake of her head.Â
âItâs fine,â she told him. âYouâre still human, Ozai. Youâre allowed to have a reaction to something you donât like.â
She tried to turn his face back toward her. âBesides, I like it when you react tâ things. If âe gets to ya, just come back tâ me. Iâll set things straight for ya again, okay, doll?â
When they fight for his attention @huntingchaosâ
iâm telling you it looks like the bachelor!! XD
huozaaiâ:
â Forgive me, I am not familiar with flirting.
I never went to common bars either. I usually indulge myself at home. âÂ
Even now he pondered way back when he attempted to woe his first wife, did he flirt? It was nearly twenty years, he couldnât recall. The years blurred.
Reaching for the Lambanog, he popped the cork screw with ease. He was stronger than he looked. Soon slowly pouring a small amount into her glass. Gesturing towards it.Â
â Go on, have a taste.â
Leaning on the counter top, closer towards her. Curiously observing her. He seemed to do that often, just look at her. As if he was attempting to figure her out and understand her.Â
 Calmly he then also added.
â If you want, you can try all of them.â
Astrid gave a soft chuckle when he confessed to not being familiar to flirting, not going out to bars very often, and she gave a small shake of her head.
âWell, Iâll get you used tâ beinâ flirted with, at least,â she told him. âYouâre the kinda guy who deserves that. Among... many other things.â
Her eyes held something suggestive and playful in them at that, and she picked up the cup, taking a sip of the liquor he had poured her. Astrid found she liked the sweetness of it, at the end, and she nodded.
She looked down at him, and the way he was watching her made her smile softly. Gods, how many rules was she already breaking just in being here again? Now she was celebrating his birthday with him.
Oh, she was fucked, wasnât she? And.... not in the way sheâd intended to be when she first started talking to him.
She was, of course, still fucked in that way as well.
âMm, I can try âem all?â she asked curiously. âIâd like that.â Her eyes flicked over him, and she flirted, âLike tâ try you, too,â with a wink.
