heād kiss you like it was an afterthought, like he didnāt plan it and definitely didnāt soften for it . . . like he leaned in to mutter something gruff under his breath and his mouth just . . . caught on yours. a brush at first. testing. lazy ,, his rugged beard would scratch, rough and familiar, and heād huff when you react, like it amuses him more than it should.
heād kiss you slow. not careful, not at all. slow. like heās got all the time in the world and he knows youāre not going anywhere. because i mean . . . itās not like you can. he wouldnāt let you.
his hand would come up heavy to your jaw, thumb pressing just under your chin to tilt your face where he wants it. no asking. never asking. just a low murmur of some rugged complaint when you donāt look at him immediately before he does it again.
heād linger. aaaaaalways linger. lips pressing in like heās grounding himself, like the weight of you there keeps the noise in his head down. his kisses wouldnāt be pretty, but theyād be thorough , dragging, a little too firm. sometimes his mouth would stay there even after the kiss ends, breath mixing with yours, beard brushing your skin while he exhales through his nose.
heād kiss your temple when heās tired . . . your cheek when heās thinking. the corner of your mouth when heās amused and doesnāt want to say it out loud. those would be almost gentle, almost absentminded, almost like muscle memory.
and when heās in a mood ( and that is . . basically always. ) jaw tight, shoulders stiff, heād kiss you deeper. like heās pouring everything he wonāt say into the press of his mouth. his beard would scrape and leave bright red spots, his breath hot, his grip firm enough to remind you heās there, alllways there.
afterward, heād pull back just enough to look at you, eyes dark, unreadable, thumb still warm against your skin. then a quiet, rough little ā cāmon, ā like that was all it ever meant.
just donāt think you can pull away when you feel like it. hate to say that he is the one that decides . .
