"Momiji?!You're bleeding. . Really badly.."
âI amâ?â A pause, and the brown eyed boy blinked up towards her, seemingly oblivious of the blood that was dripping from the wound on his forehead. He was laid on his back with her head in her knees, after having fallen and hit his head. âIâm sure itâs fineâŠâ
âI told you youâd get sick.â
âYes,â Momiji mumbled, allowing the blanket to be tugged down from where he had pulled it over his head. Heâd pulled another disappearing act, this time only missing for a day and a half before he returned to the main house, transformed into his zodiac form and seemingly unable to recover himself. âYou were right.â
Still, he just lay where he was, staring boredly at the wall. It took a few minutes before he said anything else, and when he did, his voice was quiet.
âIâm sorry for leaving again. I needed a break.â
Continued from an ask with @hupfen
Waiting for the hot water for the tea to boil, Asa leaned against the doorway and quietly sighed. She watched Momiji, who stared out into the rain, and wondered if he was alright since heâd been in a huffy mood with her ever since she refused to let him stay outside.
The rabbit continued to stare for a few minutes and, letting out a sigh, he turned only to come to face Asa. Blinking once or twice, he pulled his knees to his chest, and mumbled, âDo you ever just feel... Bored of everything?â
âYou look like shit.â
He knows it. The rabbit hadnât felt this terrible in a long time - He was surprised he hadnât transformed yet, from being so run down. But what made him feel worse - much worse - was hearing that voice say those words.
He didnât want company anymore.
âI know,â Momiji spoke, sitting himself up. Heâd just resorted to lying in bed and feeling sorry for himself, because anything besides that was a chore. âIâm sorry.â
Headcanon: as rabbits arenât overly sensitive to the cold, Momiji is one of those people who just doesnât seem to feel the cold. However, when he gets wet (for whatever reason, be it rain, baths etc) heâs very quick to grow cold, and will transform fairly easily.
BTW I LOVE YOU
And I you, my dearest anon!! //gives you flowers <333
"Yuki!" came the accented little voice, and a hand rose to pull on his cousin's sleeve. "I tried to make cookies - do you want to try one?"
    @hupfenÂ
â I donât see why not. âÂ
Oh, he DID see a good reason as to not ingest his little cousinâs cookies. The rat didnât WANT to not have faith in Momiji but, knowing the rabbit boy, he added three cups of sugar instead of flour. Although, Yuki did have a desire to trust him. Perhaps the vacuous approach is the better approach this time.Â
â Why donât you share some with Kyou too? â If heâs going down, so is that stupid cat.
âI already offered him, and he told me to-- Wait!â He perks up a bit, and putting on a gruff, rather mocking voice, he continues with, âGet lost, Momiji!ââ. With a laugh, the young rabbit held out the plate, littered with golden biscuits shaped as rabbit heads. âTheyâre my first try, but I promise theyâre good. Theyâre still warm!â
"You're not being fair," the rabbit whined, held in Asa's arms- he'd transformed not far from the main house after getting caught in the rain, and she refused to let him walk, lest he run off. "I want to stay outside. I don't mind the rain."
  + @hupfen
âI donât care if Iâm being fair or not, Momiji. Iâm not going to let you stay outside here in the rain. Youâll get sick if you stay out here too long,â Asa scolded, keeping a gentle hold on Momiji in rabbit form. She didnât want him to run off, especially in this weather since he could hide anywhere. The thought of him being out there alone in this weather made Asa wonder if someone was up with him. âNow come on, letâs go back to your home and get you dried off, maybe have some tea to warm you.âÂ
âBut my fur will keep me dry,â He complained, though it seemed to be fruitless; He was already being let down from her arms under the shelter of the roof. Momiji set back on his hind legs and let out a huff, staring up at Asa. It was hard to look upset when you were a rabbit, though, so he simply looked⊠Well, vacant. That was, until a sudden âpoofâ had him changing back.
Not long after, he was dried off and changed into something warm, and he was sitting on the edge of the bed, seemingly huffing with Asa as he stared out the window at the pouring rain.
"Momiji." His voice is always languid around the edges, but even despite the quiet, easy seeming smile pulling at his lips, there is something firm behind each word when he speaks. "This is far for you to come - it might be best if you found your way back." It's gentle, but pointed - confident in a way that brokers no argument.
His voice holds no room for argument; that much is clear to Momiji. And yet, he finds his feet unwilling to move from where they were, planted firmly into the snow laden gravel under himself. âI came to see you,â the rabbit started, his brown eyes falling to stare at his feet. âI donât want to go back - not yet. Can I please stay?âFor once, he finds himself growing upset; for whatever reason, of course, was unknown. The only suggestion that something was wrong was the following words: âI need a break from everything.â
âI have started practicing, but I am not too far into it â I can show you what I have learned, though, if you would like to hear.â The young rabbit wasted no time in hurrying off down the corridor to retrieve his violin case - yes, it was brought everywhere, for peace of mind as much as to play. âSix Ă©tudes, das ist richtig?â
Adjusting the instrument under his jaw to the perfected position, Momiji soon began to play, the gentle tune of the instrument filling the room with a sweet, fine melody. He was in his element, here - practice was worth nothing if you did not play, surely.
âWhat do you think?â He asked, as the piece drew to an end only halfway through. âI am still learning, as I said.â
âA polite, soft clap was elicited from the dragon at the end of the impromptu concert. His hands soon fell and moved to rest on his lap. Legs uncrossing, he rose to his feet and moved to circle the boy with impeccable posture post-piece. Smiling warmly- a smile saved only for the boy Hatori had grown particularly fond of- he spoke.
âWunderbar,â he murmured, his pronunciation of that word (and only that word) damned near perfect. Years of mini lessons with Momiji had yielded him expansive knowledge of the German language, however, his thick Japanese accent often got in the way of his enunciation. It was a cause of slight embarrassment for the dragon, but Momiji was a very patient teacher.
Growing up, Hatori had been trained musically via the piano, but that was where his talent stopped. With Akiraâs passing, all creativity was sapped from the family and intensive studies replaced the music and dance classes. Hatoriâs father was persistent in keeping the extracurricular activities to a minimum, and so, the piano had to go.
It would be a lie to say Hatori wasnât heartbroken.
In Momiji, he saw himself- no, he saw something better. A boy with more talent in his pinkie finger than the dragon held in his entire body. It was something he admired, he enviedâŠÂ
To hear that music fill the room to seemed to make his spirit swell with pride and admiration. It was difficult for the succinct man to put that into words, but he suspected Momiji, out of anyone, understood the dragonâs quirks. After all, the two spent much time around each other. While there were many ways they differed in their personalities, there was more in common between them than met the eye, truthfully.
Hatori often wondered why the boy wanted to be around him. I took your beloved mother from you, and yet here you are, gracing me with beautiful music in my own home⊠Momiji.
Long, deft fingers nestled affectionately into the boyâs blond locks, the unusual smile still spread from ear to ear. âPerfect, the notes were as awe-inspiring as I remember. Your practicing has paid off. Iâm very, very impressed.â But not surprised, never surprised. Your extraordinary talent was evident from the day of your birth. You were born special, Momiji.Â
âŠNever let them dim your light.
âDanke schön,â Came the easy reply, the sight of the smile on the dragonâs face filling the young boy with warmth. Some praise, though small, seemed to go a long way - He gripped his violin tighter, and smiled broadly; It illuminated his face, much like a childâs. âIâm glad you like it. Itâs nice having someone to play for.â
Still, brown eyes wandered for a moment, out to the murky clouds that hung overhead beyond the windowpanes. âSometimes it feels like itâs not worth playing - because I am the only one who hears it. It gets kind of... boring.âÂ
Thereâs a pause, a silence, and the young boy sighed wistfully as he lifted the violin back to itâs rightful place at his chin. âThough, I like playing. I think I want to play more often for people.â He added, and with a few skilled movements, the sound of the bow on strings filled the air- No melody was attached, here, and the rabbit merely played for the sake of the noise.Â
âI can play some more, if you want to hear.â He offered, once more smiling - His moment of melancholy had passed, it seemed. âIf youâre not busy, of course.â

âGuten Morgen, Frau Tohru!Â
It may be late in the afternoon, but rabbits love a nap, donât they? The blonde rubbed his eyes, before smiling broadly up to Tohru. âHow are you today? Itâs been a while since Iâve seen you! Letâs go sit down and catch up.â
Tohru smiled happily at the sight of the blonde- Momiji had a special place in her heart and he never failed to make her smile!
â Momiji-kun! Hello! Of course- would you like to snack on something?? â
âNo, no! Donât worry about me, Iâm not hungry.â He grinned, sitting himself down on the edge of the wooden floor and swinging his legs over the houseâs edge.
âIâm just happy to see you - itâs been so long!â
âMomijiâŠâ Almost like an mirror image, as Momiji took a step away from her Momo took a step forward. How many times had she watched him play the Violin? Watching in secret as he chatted with cousins or finished homework? She didnât want to see him do those things âaloneâ anymore. She wanted them to play together. âYouâre are Momiji right?â
Hearing his own name made him pause, almost tense, and he glanced over his shoulder towards her. So she did know him... even if only by name. Could she have remembered..?
âYou know my name?â Momiji asked, turning fully to face the young girl once more. âI donât even know yours. Iâm sorry.â He lied, trying hard to feign his innocence - no need to cause trouble.Â
Momo froze. He was Momiji. She wasnât supposed to talk or mention him let alone talk with him, butâŠHe was Momiji. Slowly the blonde shook her head ânoâ.
Yeah... I didnât think I knew your face. [Thereâs a pause, and he steps back.] I wonât keep you though -- be safe, wonât you? [He turns at the same time, finding his heart wrenching at the sight of her -- his little sister. This was painful.]
[But as he leaves, he turns to ask one more thing: he just wants to hear her sweet little voice.]
Whatâs your name?
"I'm sure I just need some rest."
Meme.
⯠@hupfen
â No. I really think you need to let Haâri check you out. I wouldnât be surprised if you caughtthe bug that was going around. I had it a fewweeks ago. â
A pause, and the rabbit leaned back against his pillows with a heavy sigh. Hatori had enough work - there was no point in adding to it. Momiji tilted his head back, staring up at the ceiling thoughtfully.
âI donât want to see Haâri,â He started, before glancing back to Haru with a smile. âBut will you keep me company? Itâs boring, being alone.â

Ah -- Hello, there. I donât think weâve... I donât think we know each other. Do we?
â
Two days, the rumours were saying, that Momiji had been missing. It wasnât uncommon, but often hushed â There was no point in troubling anyone with the whereabouts of the rabbit. But when a storm rolled in, with clouds as dark as the night sky and rain hitting the ground fiercely â that was when everyone began to worry.
The young boy didnât know where he was headed, nor why. But all he knew was that he needed some respite - from all the aches, memories. From the isolation. He simply needed some freedom - and he found that in the forests surrounding the Sohma estate.
When he did return as nightfall fell over their home, the young rabbit took off his shoes so as not to rouse anyone - he could slip in, unnoticed; Or so he thought. A door slid open to his right side, revealing the black haired God before himself. Akito. The rabbit merely stared, unsure what he was to say - He knew by now there was no point in lying. Here he stood, drenched to the bone and shivering like a fearful child.
âAkito,â He managed after a long moment, casting a glance to his bare feet and the puddle of rainwater that as forming beneath himself. âIâm⊠Sorry. If I woke you.â
