Hello, I was wondering if I can use the Ai gif you made to make an edit with it. I'd give you credit and everything! :)
yes, of course! just for reference to anyone else, it’s okay to use any of my gifs, credited or otherwise. thank you for asking, though!
hello i was wondering what programs do you need to make a gif? i already have photoshop and i tried to make gifs but theres this program that is required, quicktime or smth, but i dont really know since there is 3458734858934 of how to make gif tutorials, im becoming crazy i just wanna gif my anime ;n;
Hi! If I understand correctly, what you need is a way to capture the frames for your gif, right? The way I do it is kinda unconventional, I’m sure a lot of people have found more effective and simpler ways of extracting frames, but this is how I do it:
I use CCCP, not sure if you’re familiar with it but you can wiki it up if you’re not, it’s pretty useful. Media Player Classic is included in the pack and that’s what I use to watch my anime and extract frames.
After that I open ffdshow Video Decoder Configuration which should show up after you install the codec pack!
This is what should pop up after you open the aforementioned program. Scroll the left bar until you find grab. You want to make sure to tick the little box next to it whenever you want to extract frames before running your video. If you’re not planning on extracting any frames just close the video and untick the box again (otherwise it’ll just keep extracting… and extracting…. and eventually your computer will be bursting at the seams in anime screenshots haha). The rest are my own personal configurations ^o^ I didn’t make many changes to it but this works just fine for my gif making purposes. Oh and make sure to create a folder and assign it specifically for frame saving purposes.
After you’ve got your frames you just need to open them up on photoshop and the rest is history. To do this you should go on File > Scripts > Load Files Into Stack and select the frames you want from your folder!
I apologise if this seems excessively complicated y_y But I know the pain of wanting to extract frames and not having the necessary software or it being a hassle and not working like I want it to - and ever since I’ve started on this method it’s worked just fine for me. Have fun gif’ing!
