after 4 straight days of pure frustration, i understand that my 9 year-old laptop is not fit to run sims 3 with all expansions 😔

I simply can't install my games in this new lutris version, I'm about to crash

i think playing sims 3 completely botched my almost-10-years-old lenovo laptop 💀 everything was fine while i was playing all my sims 2 shenanigans, even when i was in sunset valley having a go at a lepacy! but as soon as i added sims 3 with all expansions + some mods + reshade, the poor thing collapsed after a day of long play (over 2+ hours). now i'm waiting for the ssd to arrive so i can order it to be installed. what a bummer. this is making me very upset at the moment.

Hi Midge! I’ve encountered a problem in my game when I have both your edit of pescado’s firemod and cdmoredangerousfire. Every time my sim would try to put out a fire it would throw an error. I’ve tested this in a vanilla game with only those two mods in and produced the same error. The object error can be found here, which hopefully works: imgur(.)com/a/NAmFn7R

Hello! CD's mod wasn't updated for Apartment Life, which has nothing to do with firemod. To fix it, add another value to Tuning - Extinguish with the value 0x000A (10).

Hello!

A few weeks ago, I sent an ask to the lovely @letomills about an issue where Brazilian simmers can’t see the images properly on the Sims 2 default database. After some testing, I found a few workarounds for this problem. But fair warning: it’s pretty annoying 😅

As I mentioned to Leto, a hard reload usually works (Ctrl + Shift + F5). But not always. I also opened a support ticket with Dreamwidth, but unfortunately, they never replied. There are a few technical reasons behind this issue, but that’s a discussion for another time 😉

When you open a page from the database, you’ll probably see something like this (broken or missing thumbnails).

First, try a hard reload (Ctrl + Shift + F5).

If the hard reload doesn’t work, try this:

Press F12 to open the Developer Tools.

Go to the Network tab (or “Rede”, if your Chrome is in Portuguese 😄).

You should see a list of .png files.

If you don’t see any, just press F5 to reload the page.

Click on any of the PNG files. It really doesn’t matter which one.

Either:

copy the image URL, or

right-click it and choose “Open in new tab”.

This will open a small thumbnail image. You don’t even need to stay on that page — just go back and reload the original page.

✨ After that, the thumbnails should appear correctly. ✨

Note: You may need to do this every time you open the page. That’s why I said it can be pretty annoying, hehe 😅 If you have any question, just pop me a DM.
