@intelligentnaughtygirls
shout out to my DM who had an insanely huge dungeon planned and we managed to beat it in a single session because we hit a portal that randomly teleported us to like, the room right next to the boss fight.
Then we went into DnD Overtime to fight the dragon and I almost died. I got the killing blow on him, but I was also unconscious within the 2nd turn of combat.
Whatâs up itâs DnD time, I rolled a Nat 20, yelled âSPICY,â and then my party refused to let it stay OOC.
So hereâs Magnox after getting a headshot on an enemy.
I think one of my favorite things that Iâve said to a DM is âby the way, my character has a motorcycle. I just decided thisâ at the end of the second session of the campaign.
And he accepted it immediately.
A thought that arises from the idea of tiefling babies often ending up being abandoned: A rich tiefling adventurer retiring and starting up a tiefling orphanage that takes care of rejected tiefling babies and children.
A thought that arises from the idea of a tiefling orphanage: the rich tiefling adventurer regretting his initiative of filling a mansion with dozens of little devils that all can cast Thaumaturgy. At will.
Oh Boy. :âD
Personally I headcanon that tiefling magic starts to manifest around puberty, but if that wasnât the case, theyâd just have to suck it up and tiefling baby-proof the hell out of the place. B) Have no vases and stuff that might fall over and break during tremors. Have sturdy furniture. Lock doors and windows. Avoid having open flames around. Shove cotton or something into your ears.
Oh yeah, and some of the babies might in that case be able to cast friends, minor illusion, ray of frost, or mage hand. Could result in chaosâŠ
My next one shot is definitely going to be âA party of tiefling babies escape from the orphanage (to go to the candy shop)â
sorry to hijack this post but iâve been drinking coffee and had ideas for how to actually bring this to life so:
BABY TIEF HEIST ONESHOT
PLAYER RULES
You are all tiefling toddlers, each pick a different subrace
All your stats are 10, then apply your racial boosts.
you have 4 hp (5 if you have the con boost) if you reach zero, you are unconscious.Â
Your only abilities are your racial traits.
You have broken out of the orphanage with no money, and seek a treasure trove of candy from the store.Â
How you retrieve this candy, without being apprehended, is up to you.
DM RULES
Any environmental or effect that could potentially hurt a toddler will only deal 1 hp of damage.
The candy store functions as a dungeon:
the shopkeep is a final boss (objectively has 5 hp if they go the combat route, however, this would only cause him to fall unconciousâ there will be no toddler murder.)
other patrons are to be befriended or avoided.Â
Any creature that is not considered Charmed by the toddlers, whether by magic or exceptional persuasion checks and baby tief cuteness, will report any thievery they see.
Environmental hazards can include
gumballs on the floor
getting distracted by a cute kitty or dog
the candy is on the top shelf!!! just out of reach!
To reach your goal:
you must steal a pound of candy for each player character. you may also steal excess to aid you in your heist just be careful how much you use.
Candy
Lollipops: if you consume a lollipop you can regain 2 hp. (5 lollipops = pound, you may grab 3 at once)
Gumballs: gumballs can be spilled on the floor, functioning like a bag of ball bearings. (20 gumballs = a pound, using gumballs wastes half a pound, you may grab 5 gumballs at once)Â
Chocolate: Invokes Sugar Rush. (2 chocolate = a pound, you may grab 1 at once, 1 chocolate = one sugar rush)
Sugar Rush gives you advantage on all strength and dexterity checks for five minutes (since initiative hopefully will not be a factor, if it is invoked in a combat situation, the duration is 1 minute), however after, you must make a DC: 15 con save to avoid falling asleep for a post-sugar nap.Â
You may design your candy store as you will for maximum chaos
roll a d10 + 1 for the number of potential patrons within.
those are just a few small things i thought of for how to run this oneshot for maximum cuteness, creativity and chaos!
here have this ultraniche meme i made about what i look for in dnd campaigns especially when i dm
this might be my favorite thing that i have ever stumbled across
sometimes a DnD party can be two hired killers, a soldier, a mad scientist, a zombie-hated plant mom, and a bugman bardlock.
Item: Cloak of Moss & Lichen

LISTEN. Youâre a GM. You have a world. You need to give your players information about that world without info-dumping on them as the game develops.
Your campaign world needs a newspaper. There is no better way of relaying the settingâs lore and exposition than through the lens of the NPCs who live there. They can post work opportunities! They can discuss current events! They can use local lingo! They can post scurrilous lies about whatever you want!
And your players will eat it up!
Are you feeling heady with power yet? Do you realize what a tool this is?!
They will be shocked when they first realize that the papers lied to them⊠Or theyâll feel oh so very clever for being skeptical about what they read! Hell, they might even want to put out ads or articles in the paper of their own creation! Imagine their faces when the paper talks about them and their heroic exploits⊠Or attributes credit for what they did to someone else entirely! Or makes the whole thing a hit piece painting them as villains! What if the whole tone of the paper suddenly changes? What if a favorite columnist suddenly shows up dead? What if an obituary for one of the player characters gets printed? Your options are literally limitless.
Give your game a newspaper. Youâll thank me. Youâre welcome.
D&D Material Plane Effects Theory
So I have this idea.
All the planes are listed having different influnces on the adventurers that travel there. Residents of that plan grew up there and thatâs all they know, why would the world work any differently?
In the DMG (5.0) the different planes have effects for staying there overnight and how it changes your character. The material plane doesnât! (Probably because itâs a mechanically neutral plane for the sake of gameplay BUT.)
What if the material plane did have an influence that affected creatures, but since the party grew up there theyâre ânoseblindâ to it? What happens when a lesser demon is exposed to the material plane over an extended period of time?
Itâs my theory that the material plane frees you from your planar influences and is a more âneutralâ zone. Left there long enough, a demon begins to forget itâs compulsion for evil. They lose sight of what drove them to kill and murder. Maybe they even become more introspective as they ask what they want and how to find their own fulfillment.
You can tell your adventuring party hails from the material plane because they have a sense of direction, a sense of what they want as characters to achieve their own fulfillment, and they set out as adventurers to accomplish this.
Itâs my theory that extraplanar creatures are affected by the material plane when they stay for more than a day. They become subject to our flow of time and have inspired in themselves newfound agency to do things they want for fulfillment.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

To quote my DM âItâs 5th edition, everyone has darkvision.â
For the last time, necromancy is the art of communing with the spirits of the hereafter. You need to have a skeleton on hand in order to âsummonâ a skeleton because what youâre conjuring is the malign intelligence that animates the bones. Conjuring the bones themselves isnât an exercise of necromancy, itâs an exercise of taxidermy.
conjuration spell that summons a complete skeleton from a random grave.
Power Word: Bone
DnD 5e "life hack" for spell casters.
Pro tip: the enhance ability spell helps on making dispel and counterspell checks. It grants advantage as long as you target the correct ability on your allies or yourself.
And the inverse trick is casting hex, bestow curse, or the poisoned condition on an enemy caster to hinder their counterspells and dispels.
Granting disadvantage when targeting their correct ability score.
why is it always a male character going mad avenging his dead wife and never a female character cradling her dying pure of heart husband in her arms then dragging the whole world down with her
Adventurers break through a barren castle overrun with undead. Inside, they arrive at a blooming courtyard - The Lich, ever horrifying, is tending to the grave of the only person she would never desecrate with reanimation.Â
Her husband.Â
Combat begins.
