This is our very fancy germination chamber lol - a tupperware container with a moist paper towel covered loosely with plastic wrap! It lives on a little grate above Celeste's toasty computer - dark and warm for the little seeds.
It took around 4 days for most of these to germinate enough to go on the tower, and another day or two for the rest.
Top left are the Ishikura Bunching Onion seeds - we lost two of these to mold but are hopeful for the others.
Top right are Dragon Tongue Bush beans - they're gonna look really cool when they finally give us beans :D Only two of these were duds, the rest germinated very nicely.
And the rest here are Orange Hat Tomato seeds! The large majority of these germinated quite fast. As a side note despite eating lots of tomatoes, I was still taken aback by how small the seeds are. To see a whole ass root pop out of them felt like a magic trick.
And we had a container of Bloomsdale Spinach seeds chilling in the fridge, as we have been advised that they need to think winter has come before they can be germinated. They chilled for a week, and have now entered the germination chamber now that it's been vacated.
We got all the seeds online from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds - they come strongly recommended from multiple sources, and so far we have no complaints :3
