So I've barely been posting here, but, a bunch has happened so here it goes: One random bus ride to our housing site outside of houston, the drum bus starts having problems. It brakes down. So the other buses pull over, we all get onto them, and our stuff is left on our bus. The next day, it's returned to us, however, a large sum of it was left there to get picked up another day, that other stuff included my bus box, window stuff, and sleeping bag... It's now two days past then, and my sleeping bag has yet to return to me :p I probably have to buy a new one on our free day tomorrow, but maybe it'll turn up. Turning back the clock a few days, the south is interesting. Tennessee had pretty houses. Arkansas had great people. Texas has nice stadiums. In Arkansas, the quad line really started to come together. It all just sort of clicked. We also had a clinic that day with the kids from the housing sites band. That was... Interesting. Hah. We've had a few good shows so far on second tour. DCI Houston was pretty sweet, they liked us there, and I got to see some other shows. Scouts are killin it, and the Cavies are pretty cool. Today was our first dome show in the Alamodome (look up pictures), and it wasn't a great run, but we had fun. THEN, we had the first official drumline battle of world class vs. world class, and we WON. Videos and pictures should be up soon, and it was awesome. The Crossmen were good, but they couldn't handle the Surffffffff ;)

Our new buses are sweeeeeeeet. The first rehearsal day of this tour wasn't bad at all, since we only had two blocks before EPL and we have a long drive tonight, like, seven hours or something, so yeah, go band.
Tour number 2 here I come!
And by the way, I've learned that some people are douches and you just have to live with it. Drum corps life is hard sometimes.
The show in Chester today was awwwwwesome. And we get to go home tomorrow. This is shaping up to be an amazing few days.
Haven't updated in a while. Oops. The Quincy show was awesome. The crowd was loving it and that was great. We drove to Connecticut that night and got to bed around 2:30, had a show the next day that wasn't as great for me, but whatever. Now we're in Rhode Island and it's just rain, fog, and for rain. We have a show tomorrow and a parade here at some point. So I'll get back on here after all that.
Bus ride to Quincy, MA took all night, so we got no floor time. We pulled in around 7:15 and started rehearsing around 9:45 after stretch and breakfast. So everyone is a tired mess, but we have a show tonight, so we just have to push it.
(More day 1) Two runs of all of Faces to end today. The quads have a big sweeps feature at the end, and we nailed it the first run, and that just pushed me through the second one. So, the better you are, the better you'll get. And also, for my own personal memory: Appreciate laughs in the distance, and nice skies.
Day .5, I guess (since we were still at the normal school) was alright. The way spring training works is, the staff chooses a show chunk, every section works that chunk out all day, and then we put it together in ensemble at the end of the day. Simple enough. And we only had to go to 4:00 or so yesterday because we had to load and get on the busses to come to Stroudsburg. Or stroudsbourg. I have no idea how to really spell it. But yeah. Today's the first real day of spring training. Here comes the drum corps experience.
Off to housing!
Cool first day. Put together the new drums, did a little rehearsal, and a nice ensemble block, then subs and snack. The new drums are so much lighter, but the harnesses kinda blow, and I already have bruises and crap from them on my hips and thighs. I guess drumline is going to be painful no matter what.
First day of spring training. Aw yiss.
