”…..This place is such a friggin’ drag.”
"Have you tried doing much about it? I don't really see you around other than idly lounging... Or exchanging a few words with Enya."
He dodged the sloppy lunge. “So, attacking those weaker than you is your hobby? Cecil, can we put her in jail for assault?”
"Hah-! So you’re admitting I could beat you in a fight!" Enya puffed out her chest, tail flicking, "W-wait! You can’t go to jail for that! No way!"
He sighs and shakes his head. "Jeez... Good to be a team.. Time to go register with Pelipper then.." And off he goes.
"I’m so glad you think that, Master Cecil~! Maybe you should give training to the houndoom over there that got hurt by a weak Wingull’s water gun~!"
"You… little brat!" Enya bared her fangs before lunging at the boy, "I actually felt bad for you for a second!"
Seems like he was shoved aside. How rude of you, Enya.
"H-Hey! Enya calm down! He just needed a little encouragement! He's got his confidence back, that's important, right??"
"I know. I’m weak."
"Hey, that Water Gun you blasted me with the other day did not feel good, at all. Your aim may have been way off, at least I hope you weren’t aiming for me, but that blast was far from weak.”
"Peecko, since I've started training you, you've been making so much progress. I'm actually impressed with it... Quite frankly I didn't expect it." He kneels and takes Peecko's hands. "I'm so proud of your progress, Peecko."
"…apprentice."
"Oi- weren’t you Cecil’s apprentice, anyway? It’d just be the same thing Except, well, three of us."
"Y-You'll still be on the team, Peecko! It's just that it's for the Pelipper's to keep track of you is all! Our levels are a lot higher than your's so... uh yeah.. you know.."
"You mean me, right? Only me!"
"Like, all three of us? On a team? Doing missions together?"
"Yeah! Exactly like that! Though.. Because of Peecko's level he'll have to be listed as an apprentice..."
"You know.... I've been thinking a lot, and I think I want to make a rescue team with you guys.."
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
Oh- his type. Right. Enya had forgotten about Cecil’s ground type, but now understood. Of course, her fire type didn’t mix with water, but the steam was what she liked. As Cecil turned around, Enya muttered a quiet thank-you and nervously began stripping off the rest of her clothes. She was still embarrassed by it, but thankfully the steam in the water would shield her from his view once she was submerged. That, and she could use the heat as an excuse for her tainted cheeks. After folding her clothes along with her jacket, Enya finally slid into the water. She winced as her exposed bruising entered the water, but soon let out a breath of relief as the warm water washed over her skin. She let herself relax, leaning into the stone behind. Enya had almost forgotten to tell Cecil that he could turn around, but just as she was about to do so, a large splash was created as Enya watched the nude Flygon spring into the water.
"H-hey! Wait, Cecil!" she called out, though didn’t stand. Enya waited a few moments, expecting the Flygon to arise as quickly as he submerged, but there was no such luck. Immediately, Enya began to panic, a colorful string of curses exiting her mouth as she did so. She couldn’t let him stay under, she knew it, but the situation… Sucking in her pride, Enya waded over to the place which Cecil had landed, all the while trying to forget the fact that they were both naked. Sucking in another breath, Enya dipped into the water, wrapping her arms around Cecil’s torso and attempting to yank him upwards.
He hadn't been planning on sinking to the very bottom. Well, he hadn't planned on jumping in at all- and the fact that he pretty much KO'd the minute he jumped in wasn't something he was even remotely prepared for. Cecil lost consciousness from the shock quickly, and that in itself was terrifying for the Flygon. Though, he had felt soft pressure at his sides, he only came to when the bubbles ceased to spout from his nose, and his face resurfaced.
A short gasp voiced his consciousness returning, followed by several abrupt coughs.
He kept his head down, embarrassed to have allowed such a weakness exposed to the smaller Houndoom. Not to mention that she was his current savior. Embarrassed was the word- but it wasn't one that he would admit to. His legs, creased at the knees finally straightened once the touched the ground beneath him. He pulled himself to stand up, towering over the smaller female. The water was at his waistline, but the steam shrouded whatever lie 'below the belt'.
"S-Sorry..." He muttered, although he didn't understand Enya's reserved embarrassment for the situation itself. He didn't understand what previously human pokemon valued in clothing...
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
"Ah-" Enya began, slipping her jacket off. She folded it neatly, placing it on a dry rock close to where she planned on sliding it, "Actually, it’s alright, I found a good rock to put them on." she announced. She took of her boots, leaving her in her orange tank and a shirt. She sucked in a nervous breath, almost too embarrassed to further take anything off. However, the hot springs were practically drawing her in, and her bruise did need healing.
"Hey, could you turn around for a moment, please?" Enya asked, "You could get in if you wanted, I wouldn’t want the heat to bother you, or anything."
"The heat doesn't bother me... It's just my type." He chuckles a little bit before long he submits to her request, without questioning the reason why. The houndoom was rather strange to begin with. But he inches away from the pool itself, keeping his back towards her. But he himself began undressing what little clothing he had accessorized for the day. Before long he was completely in the nude, spinning around and zipping past the female Houndoom, his tail lagging behind as he was practically running in on all fours. Rather- he was charging into the hot spring. Leaping from the edge and flapping his wings once to kick up some mineral dust clouds and dove into the water.
No, the heat didn't bother him- but water wasn't pleasant for him. But pokemon- even ground types- needed a nice mineral bath treatment. The water on the surface bubbled for a bit. However, Cecil didn't seem to rise above the water. He.... seemed to have forgotten that intense heat usually made his aching muscles relax and he begins dozing off. Actually, this could look pretty bad for the poor ground type...

woops || cool mentor and lousy apprentice
Peecko’s enthusiasm did not falter even as he was assigned the task of being the main escort for the mission. They marched on into the dungeon, Peecko at the helm, leading the mission despite being the most ill matched in terms of type.
His excitement more or less kept him blissfully unaware of his mentor’s fading presence. Excitement and the bombardment of questions asked by the client kept him completely occupied. The questions were mundane and boring, but he guessed the client was just trying to make conversation.
And that idle conversation went on until a shock of lightning hit the ground in front of Peecko.
He froze, staring at the charred spot that was in front of him before lifting his gaze at the enemy in front of him: an elekid. Deep breaths, deep breaths. He looked at the client beside him and said, “Stand back!” The client obediently obeyed.
The elekid smirked. Peecko seemed like easy prey to it. After all, the prideful gait he had before its rude appearance had disappeared. His legs were visibly shaking, but he still stepped forth. “I-I’ll fight you.” His voice came out weaker than intended, and he cursed his fear.
The enemy taunted him, beckoned him to fight. Peecko, with his ill equipped arsenal of moves, attacked. He released a strange noise from his mouth, high pitched and irregular. The elekid, having been caught up in his pride, thought nothing of it and rushed Peecko, but soon its steps became wobbly and the world was spinning in its eyes. It thought, no matter, and released a thundershock anyway. The bolt traveled an irregular path.
An irregular path that ended at Peecko.
The confusion did not stop the other pokemon from hitting and hitting hard. Peecko was already on his hands and knees from that one attack. He, however, did not get discouraged. Instead, he was angrier than he had ever been. He confused that elekid and its attack still hit him! That was totally not fair!
"Hey, shithead!" He rose to his feet. "Why don’t you die?!"
He settled his arms on the rock with an amused sort of with Peecko's sudden enthusiasm. The Flygon tilted his head and watched the confused elekid run about in fury, spinning it's arms like a generator. Sparks were flying left and right and the poor client was making the attempts to avoid them. Uncomfortable with Peecko's lack of interest in protecting his client, and rather facing the elekid- the Flygon himself snuck silently over towards the frightened pokemon.
Guiding her behind his little rock, they watched Peecko in silence. The poor Wingull was either going to be fried, or he'd be successful. Cecil was silently cheering him in his head- in hopes that Peecko's battle would go well. However, it wasn't going to be long until that elekid would snap out of it's own confusion. Cecil's wings unfolded in preparation, just in case he had to make a daring rescue of his little apprentice. Although, he didn't doubt that the poor thing wouldn't be able to hold his own.
Hopefully.... His own judgement didn't let him down either.
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
Enya’s eyes widened upon viewing the springs. While swimming wasn’t her favorite thing in the world, the steam and heat that emitted from the springs almost drew her in, though it probably had something to due with the fact that she was part fire type. She watched as Cecil hopped up on a rock, making himself comfortable. She suddenly felt self-conscious, being the only one getting in. She felt bad for having him drag her all the way out, when he didn’t even like hot water. Swallowing a bit, Enya turned her attention back to the water, a new problematic thought arising.
"Uh-" Enya began, nervously rubbing the back of her neck. She silently cursed herself for being so flustered, and sucked in a breath, "What should I do with my clothes?" the words were practically forced out, her nerves getting the best of her. She had just met this guy, and while she trusted his kindness, she still felt bad for troubling him, and awkward about the whole situation.
He didn't quite mind it, even if he didn't like the water- the heat was enough to put him at ease. But if Enya would feel more comfortable with him in the bath as well, he wouldn't mind it. However, he doesn't move from his perch on top of the rock itself and simply tilts his head in question.
"Oh- if you'd like, I could hold them for you for the mean time." His tail begin to swish back and forth idly. He stretches a bit in place before hopping down the rock he made himself so comfortable on. "If you'd like company, I'd get in with you- I might need a little muscles relaxation."
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
About ready to turn and head towards town, Enya was ultimately stopped upon Cecil insisting that he was alright with going with her. She was happy, and admired the fact that Cecil would go so out of his way to help another, and he sounded genuine about it, as well. No wonder he was master rank, she thought. While Enya wasn’t fond of needing others, she felt rather nice knowing that someone was willing to help.
So, when the Flygon happily laid his hand upon her head and pointed her to the right direction, a faint blush spread across her features, and she cracked the lightest of smiles. It didn’t last long, though. She quickly put the expression aside, turning her attention to the path ahead.
"So, the healing springs? I haven’t herd about them." Enya mused out loud, wonder in her eyes. As they moved, Enya was reminded of the pain in her gut, but ignored it. She couldn’t look weak in front of Cecil, after all.
Upon the arrival of the outdoor hot spring, Cecil seemed to stretch with the steam clouding the area. He wasn't used to hot water, it wasn't something he typically enjoyed. So as soon as the springs were in sight, he picked a nice rock to perch on top of. Folding his wings behind him. He crosses his legs, one over the other and soon curls his tail around himself.
"You can go ahead and take a soak. Your wound should be healed by then. I'll just sit here, I'm not very found of hot water."
"So just take it easy, yeah?" He chuckles a little bit. Relaxing on his little perch.
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
Upon the mention of treatment, Enya released a defeated sigh. She knew it was true, anyhow. The hit she took wouldn’t heal up too nicely unless the correct medicine was used to aid, and she didn’t nearly know enough about the herbs to treat herself. And, as much as she would have hated to admit it, the little bit about the master being able to do worse than he did was true as well. So, she just silently accepted the comment, not pressing the issue further.
Enya was glad when Cecil described his apprentice, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. She wondered if any of the other higher ranked rescue members took in younger Pokemon as well, and considered asking. However, Enya’s thought broke when the Flygon cut himself off, almost looking sad. She frowned, but decided it would be best to not ask- he had ended his thoughts early for a reason, she figured. Even so, she felt a pang of worry in her chest.
Again, her injuries were brought up, and she was reminded of how much the blow had hurt. She moved a finger to test the general area where the master’s attack had connected, and winced upon contact.
"I can walk, yes," Enya assured, giving a confident nod, "Oh, but! I would hate to make you take time out of your day off. I’ll be fine." the Houndoom insisted. Sure, she did want to spend more time talking with Cecil, but she figured he was normally very busy, especially with an apprentice. While making the walk alone would be boring, Enya didn’t want to bother.
Cecil didn't mind it too much, he hated spending time alone anyway. That's why he actually liked Peecko's company- when the poor thing wasn't making things harder than they truly should be to begin with. But nevertheless, he didn't exactly mind it all. Taking his time to help some other unfortunate soul was just part of Cecil's very nature.
"It's quite alright..."
"I enjoy helping others- it's just how I am. I can take a day off any day, but a pokemon in need will only be around for that moment you know. It's my duty to help." He nods quite proudly before patting the top of the houndoom's head. But then he taps the tips of his fingers along the small of her back lightly to direct her in the direction of the town.
"Come- I'll show you the healing springs."
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
A small breath of relief left the girl, one she hadn’t realized she had been holding in. The sudden appearance of Cecil had caught her off guard, though she was grateful for his gesture. Enya considered the idea that it may be a common occurrence for higher-ups to appear, but she still had yet to adjust to the strange new world. The thoughts halted as Cecil began speaking yet again, and what he said caught her completely off guard.
"You want me to what?” her face reddened, her hands almost instantly moving to grip the rim of her shirt. Sure, he may have had good intentions, and was just trying to help, but the question was completely unexpected. "It’s fine, I swear. It just bruised, is all." she insisted, flashing an awkward smile to back up her statement.
She sucked in a quick breath, listening as Cecil answered her question. Taking a break made sense, she hadn’t yet considered how much work one did as a master rank.
"You have an apprentice?" Enya had figured the male would be far too busy for tasks like that, but apparently not. Her curiosity was piqued, her earlier confusion eroding away and fading into interest.
Well, he wasn't sure why the reaction was made. All he did was ask to check her wounds- at least to see how much damage was done. He only frowned when she seemed to protest at his request. But the Flygon still thought of it as a little weird.
"Well, we should treat it shouldn't we? Without doing so you'll be too weak for explorations. Besides, that fighting type would've probably made a meal outta you if you ticked him off anymore than you already did."
He had quite a bit of work, and keeping the peace was always on his own radar. Cecil had a tendency to simply make sure that pokemon were getting along... Avoiding conflict was just something that he couldn't help but do.
Then the subject of the little Wingull that seemed to follow him around every where started up. He thought back as to how the little pokemon even got to be his very own apprentice. Not that it mattered to Cecil. It made him happy- he supposed.
"Yeah, he's a tiny little Wingull named Peecko. He was persistent. So he tags along when I accepted simple escort missions.. I don't trust him with the big stuff though... He's not ready for it.. But jeez it's a lot... If my other teammates were here--..." He cut himself off, swallowing down whatever it was he was going to mention.
"Actually, how about we just head into town and get something to treat the damage you took. Can you walk?"
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
Enya sat there, looking up at the male, her expression a mixture of confusion and surprise. She recalled his name and face from when she looked into joining a rescue team. Cecil: the powerful, master-ranked Flygon. A short and nervous chuckle left the girl, her face flushing up even more. She felt a bit of embarrassment due to being thrown out, and right in front of Cecil, to make things worse. She was almost worried that he had come to scold her further on the master’s behalf, but the thought was almost immediately cut short when the male had leaned down to help her up.
"Ah- thank you," she was surprised by the sudden action, but accepted the help up. However, a small wince did came to her expression, her gut still aching from the blow she took earlier. Upon his agreement of the master, she smiled a bit. So, he wasn’t here to chew her up even more after all. As he released his grip, Enya rolled her shoulders, then brushed some sand off her skirt.
"Enya. I’m Enya." she replied, quickly composing herself. She couldn’t look foolish in front of a master rank! "Er, I’m fine- but I’ll definitely feel this tomorrow." she snorted, glaring over her shoulder at the dojo. "Thanks again, though, would you mind if I asked what you’re doing out here?"
Pokemon made mistakes, and Cecil wasn't one to judge what path someone lead. He knew very well out the Dojo master could be. He didn't blame the girl for getting kicked out- his methods weren't probably the best. At least not for the Houndoom's sake.
Though, her look of confusion struck him as a little odd.
"It seems you took quite a blow. Take off your top, let me see the damage." Unfortunately for Cecil, he didn't grow up as a human being. Clothing to him were just accessories used for power ups. He was only trying to make sure that she wasn't dealing with any serious damage.
As she introduced herself, he nodded in appreciation for giving him her name- waiting on her to do as he instructed with no real fuss about it. But then she muttered another question.
"Ah- I was just taking a break from missions today... And from my apprentice, he can be a little handful at times. I'm enjoying the day really."
Summer's daze // Enya + Cecil
It had sounded like a good idea in her head, honestly. Before she wandered into any dangerous dungeon with freaky-looking meshes of people and Pokemon, Enya wanted to be sure she would be able to defend herself, and she especially wanted to have a basic knowledge of her own abilities and what she would be up against. After sniffing out information, Enya decided her best bet would be taking up some lessons at the dojo. It seemed like the best way to get in some training while gaining enough information to keep herself safe out in the dungeons. The Houndoom had started off decent enough: she took out the dummies with enough ease, and learned the basics of type matching and the different abilities. All in all, it had been going well.
That was until the actual trainer had come out. The master was cheery enough, but he was also strict, and Enya wasn’t patient. It hadn’t taken long before she had sparked up an argument with the man. It was over something relatively foolish, as well, and was mostly Enya’s frustration that had built over the training period. Without thinking into it too much, Enya had launched a Flamethrower directly at the master. It was only partly intentional, though. She intended to make a statement, though the attack was overdone and unintended. Though, she couldn’t help the smirk that appeared over her features when the attack had hit. However, the master wasn’t too thrilled. He hadn’t taken too much damage, as Enya had yet to power up, and immediately told the girl to leave. It only frustrated the girl further, and caused her to openly question the master’s tactics.
Overall, the day had been pretty nasty. Enya quickly learned that challenging a dojo master was a bad idea; a very bad idea. As she stumbled out of the dojo, her face flustered with embarrassment, she could still feel the stinging pain in her gut from the blow that had connected earlier. She had also learned what it meant to be a Dark type, and have a weakness to Fighting attacks. Enya, fed up with the events, ended up plopping down in the sand, her face scrunched into an angry pout. She mumbled curses under her breath, not hearing the footsteps that neared. The voice startled her, and she immediately looked to the source.
"Problem?" Enya echoed, the sudden question by the stranger taking her off guard, "The master is a loon, that’s what. What are you-" her question stopped short as she got a closer look at the guy, her eyes narrowing. She had seen him before, somewhere.
"Hey! You’re that Cecil guy!"
Well, thankfully she wasn't too hurt, the Dojo master could be quite hot-headed himself at times. And at other times, he tended to take things a little too seriously. Cecil never truly agreed with facilitated training in anyway- so he was quick to decline in advertising for the Dojo. He didn't believe it was right to train someone under the restrictions of watchful facilities- because it would never unlock the true potential of a pokemon. But, he's always thought this way.
However, the Houndoom appeared to have taken quite the hit from the dojo master. A little worried, for her sake, he knelt down to her level, as he was quite tall himself. He reached out, grabbing her arm and pulling her up off the ground with ease. He would have asked if she was alright as he pulled her onto her feet, however, soon realizing that she had made a statement.
"Yes, the Dojo master is a bit eccentric, I will agree to that." He nods, but the proceeds to confirm her assumption. "Yes I am- I'm Cecil, it's a pleasure to meet you miss....?" He cut himself off, hoping that she would introduce herself to him. Finally releasing his grip on her arms in the certainty that she would be able to hold herself up- had the dojo master not broken anything.
"Now- are you alright? You aren't too hurt, are you?"
