This is my first fanfic and I also have not beta red it. Also I wrote this in just a few hours and realized I was just a freak while writing. Please be nice to me. Also I work at Joanns so this is inspired by the few times hot people come on and I wish they would ask me out.
Confused in a Jones Craft Store
Jones crafts is the only craft store in Evergreen. Its small 600 square foot building that someoneâs grandma turned into a craft store 5 years ago. Its has a small studio apartment right above that the current maintainer of the craft store lives in. Itâs mostly filled with more grandmas or stressed parents cramming to help their kid finish a school project thatâs due the next morning.
Most of the people that come in wonder why in the hell you work there. Your young, pretty, and have so much more to offer then this small town can give.
But here you are, working 6 days a week, essentially open to close. Only reason you donât work 7 days a week is because itâs closed on sundays. Thereâs also only one other employee that works part time, Katie. Your nana owns the place, opened it before her hip started to deteriorate and she could no longer walk. So here you are, her sole granddaughter, working herself to the bone to keep the place running.
Itâs late on a Friday when he comes in, about 20 minutes till closing. youâd planed to close early, go on a date with some cute finance guy from the city. Yet, just as you finished getting ready and were about to take over for Katie and close, he canceled. Meaning here you are in a patchwork mini skirt and a jean vest that shows off your boobs perfectly, youâd go upstairs and change but itâs been nonstop grandmas and stressed moms since Katie left.
Just as it slows down and you start to clean up to close at the normal time this extremely handsome man walks in and looks around with a mix of stress and confusion. Heâs walking with a slight limp and looks like he just got in a majorly bad fight.
âHi welcome to Jones Crafts, Iâm y/n, if you have any questions let me knowâ you say absentmindedly as you continue to count the money in the cash register
The man looks at you, his eyes starting at your face, before moving down to your chest and back up to your face. His cheeks bright red.
You meet his eyes and get slightly taken aback by just how hot this guy is. Heâs got the hot nerdy charm that almost no one but guys in books can pull off. Even with his cheek bruised and his lip busted, heâs still one of the hottest people youâve ever seen.
âHi, can you uh, help me? I donât know what Iâm doing and I need your helpâ the guy says âIâm Adrian, sorry it just felt weird that I know your name and you donât know mineâ
You smile at his dorky attitude and put down the pen you were using to write in the books with.
âHi Adrian, what do you need?â
âIâm making a, uh,â the guy starts before stopping and trying to find the right words.
Heâs just started his whole crime fighting career, doing it all in sweats, a hoodie and some face mask he got from the dollar store. Yet after a few weeks of stopping crime, he realized that maybe he should have a cooler suit, but he canât buy a functional suit anywhere, so he has to make it. Which leads him here, to the only craft store in town, with a seemingly way to hit to handle women running the store.
You look at him and tilt your head in confusion.
Adrian looks at you wide eyed, realizing heâs been standing and not saying anything for way to long
âA super hero suit, for uh, Comic-Conâ he says, hoping it sounds believable.
Heâs nods and looks back down at his chest, admiring the way the Jean vest hugs your boobs in a way that makes them truly pop.
You look at him and nod, of course this hot nerd is someone who goes to comic con, maybe heâs one of the weird guys who sleep with the full body anime girl pillows. Heâs making direct eye contact with your chest for Christs sake.
But, it has been months since youâve had a man, let alone a hot man, pay any attention to you, so maybe, even if itâs just for a second, itâs not so bad.
âOkayâ you come back to the present and get out of your own head âwhat kind of suit are we making? A Star Trek suit, anime suit?â You muse
âA um, super hero suitâ he says, looking back up to your eyes
âItâs um, my own design, I want it to be original, for uh, Comic-conâ
You nod and walk around the register. You then walk over to the small table where you cut fabric at.
âWhat kind of fabric are you looking for? Leather, cotton, Jean fabric?â
He follows you and grabs a small book from his back pocket. He opens it and shows it to you. Itâs a small sketch with measurements of a pretty good super hero suit.
âI was thinking something durable and easy to get stains out ofâ he says, looking around, hoping youâll have something that can work
âSo that would be outdoor fabric, we have some of the basics, mainly dark colors. Though Iâve never had someone want to make clothes withâ you say as he lead him to the shelves with outdoor fabric
He follows and runs his hands along the fabric, getting a feel of the texture. You watch him closely, heâs got nice hands, veins that pop and strong fingers. God you need to get a boyfriend, even a one night stand will work, you canât keep fantasizing how this random, while hot, man would use his fingers to absolutely destroy you.
âYou have teal! Nice!â Adrian says snapping you out of your horny, inappropriate day dream.
âYea, he have quite a bit, my nana ordered it when she first opened and no one really wants anything to be tealâ you chuckle and rub your fingers over the fabric âteal was my pops favorite color, they had like a hundred out door pillows in tealâ
âTeal is my favorite color, itâs so perfectâ he says with a huge smile on his dorky face
You smile at him before looking back at the sketch and measurements he has of himself. Heâs making your job pretty easy, though this is the most effort youâre putting into helping a customer who has no clue where to start. Usually you point to a fabric and let them loose.
âSo what colors do you want? Are we thinking just one or more?â God his thighs are huge, you think as you look over the measurements of his thighs.
âWell I was thinking two, maybe teal and black, I feel like they would look god togetherâ he says as he looks back at you, watching you look at his thighs and ass. He chuckles and clears his throat to get your attention.
âUm, okay, so if you can bring the two over to the table and Iâll cut youâ you say, blushing at being caught. You then realize what you said.
âCut you the fabric, cut the fabric for you, Iâm not going to cut youâ you rush to say
He chuckles and grabs two bolts of fabric, one teal and one black, setting it on the table.
âWell I donât think youâd get close enough to cut me, Ive got pretty fast reflexesâ he chuckles glances at your chest again. Itâs right there and a really nice looking pair of boobs, he thinks.
âSo do you want a little more then youâll need or just enough?â You ask as you look over the measurements to make figure out how many yards heâll need.
âProbably more, just in case. Iâve never sewed anything before. I trust you though, I know youâll do right by meâ he says as he looks at you with a stupidly sweet smile that just makes it even harder to not jump in his bones.
âokayâ you respond weakly and start to measure and cut the fabric
The quiet hum of the music you play on the store radio and the slicing of the scissors distracts you from wanting to get unbelievably freaky with this man. Though it doesnât stop him from staring directly at your boobs with no regard for decency or care.
After you cut the fabric you fold it up all neat and tidy for him and bring him back to the cash register.
âThatâll $30 evenâ you say as he bag up the fabric
He hands you a twenty and a ten smiling at you with some loopy, dorky look on his face.
You hand him the bag and his receipt, smiling back at him. He grabs the bag and receipt, looking down at your skirt.
âI like your skirt, the teal looks good on youâ Adrian says before he starts to walk out
You bite your bottom lip and watch him walk away, you decide to do something stupid.
âHey, um, if you need any help making your suit, call meâ you say as he write down your number and hand it to him
âWhat if I donât need any help?â He asks as he looks down at the digits written in glitter pen with a small happy smirk
âYou should still call meâ you say with a wink as he walks out and you lock the door behind him. God you hope he calls
