The Fjord Playlist Project (2018 - 2021)

Four Years, 141 Episodes, 6 Playlists, and no joke, just shy of 9 hours of music later I present the Fjord Playlist Project in its totality, covering Fjord’s whole story and character arc over the course of Critical Role Campaign 2. Working on this project has been a lot of things, and for a moment I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish it. Proud to present this an evidence that I did the damn thing, and I hope you enjoy it!

If you are feeling good about yourself or situation and then your mood suddenly shifts leaving you feeling insecure, unsure, etc. try to remind yourself that nothing has truly changed but your perception. Your cute outfit did not suddenly become horrid. Your delicious meal did not tranform into a terrible one. Your peers perception of you has not radically transformed over a social misstep. Everything we experience is put through it through our mental filter, and that can convince us that everyone else sees us with the judgement we have for ourselves. Be kind to yourself.

The images of the floor scrapers came to be associated with Degas’s paintings of washerwomen, also presented at the same exhibition and similarly scorned as ‘vulgar’”.

imagine being yeza. your pregnant wife goes off into the magical object that once killed her, fights the corrupted version of her best friend who you KNOW she has had romantic feelings for, who then artificially accelerates her pregnancy, forcing to her have a baby in, cannot stress this enough, the magical object that once killed her. she comes back out alive (yay!) with a newborn in her arms that should be preterm (but isn't) and tells you to your face that the baby's name is bren. you do not get an opinion on her naming this baby after her best friend/guy you know she has had romantic feelings for. you feel a sinking in your gut. you know that guy is going to be sleeping on the floor in your bedroom helping to take care of your new kid who just showed up months early

I think the most charitable interpretation of this is that people connect to characters that are like them, and that the experiences of Blackness is so alien to them that the White characters are the only ones that White people connect with. Combine that with the fact that Tumblr is so White as a platform, and you get this issue.

It’s still bad and racist, but it is understandable. People should still do better though. (I’m not trying to justify, I’m trying to come up with an explanation)
