The harbour was always soothing to visit to the old god, the hum and drum of people about their business was white noise that was more than welcomed to their mind. Today was no different than any other days … or, well … it was. Something felt off, just a little bit, a little nagging feeling somewhere off in the distance that guided their steps. 

Nagging perhaps wasn’t the right word to describe it once Sylvie had arrived on the scene containing that source of the feeling. Irritating maybe, especially considering the words and actions that were overheard. What was usually a cheerful expression soured into something else altogether as the attention was moved onto them.

( Why was this … person so familiar? Usually, their memory was clear when it came to people, but it felt like there was a hole that they couldn’t quite fill at the moment; all they knew is that they weren’t human either and somewhat late to the death party. ) 

“Maybe. So, are you going to pay for that apple, or just stand there like an uncultured buffoon with nothing that should be said in the first place?”

 Snappy. They almost startled themselves with the words that left them, but something, something was rubbing them the wrong way about this person.

         you do not know this person, but the 𝐈𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 sharp edge in your mind that you indeed do know this person causes your smile to falter, if only for a mere second. your gaze starts from the head, ocean-blue orbs washing over the stranger as you soak in every detail for an ounce of remembrance. to the natural forest green hair, to the fern tucked behind their hair, to the earthen eyes. there is no doubt to your mind that this stranger has an homage to 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐎 itself, so why is there 𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 between them both? dendro and hydro have always had some form of symbiotic relationship with the other; plants need water to survive after all.  

         your gaze carries down to their hand, a single glove. either it was a frightful fashion statement, or this person is an archer, a conflicting choice to your direct tastes in combat. however, just because you prefer to be forthright in action does not mean your voice carries the same 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐘. the way you laugh at their remark as dangerous sharp fangs flashing. serpent-like, to that of a hydra, as a python. but you have no difficulty in licking the juice of the fruit off of your lips, biting into it again with an 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 smile.

          ❝ nothing that should be said? ah, you are speaking of the comment about the lord of geo? ❞ a loyal follower, an adeptus perhaps? the energy seems far too strong to be one of those lesser creatures...  ❝ i would apologize, but i have told this woman the truth. i dare not atone for something i am not apologetic about.  ❞ you shrug; as for the mora for the apple... your free hand pats down your outfit and lets out an artificial disappointed sigh.

         ❝ it seems i have left my money elsewhere, a shame. miss, you wouldn’t mind if i pay you back later, would you?  ❞ you turn your gaze towards the woman at the stand, your look absent from the stranger for a mere moment, your eyes turning into 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐒 as you open your mouth showing off the wide variety of 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐇 inside. she furiously shakes her head and closes the fold on her stand, obstructing her view from the hydro lord. you close your mouth and return your visage to normal as you turn to look at the stranger, twirling the half-eaten apple in your palm.
