Where do y’all find time to read??? I get overwhelmed sometimes looking through libraries or even my own bookshelves at home and at all the books I still need to read or re-read and I just wanna know how everyone squeezes in time to read in this hectic no-stop era

I build a contraption in my study. It’s a singular lever, well-worn wood handle and rusted bolts. I tug—it moves easily—and it sends a signal down the wires crisscrossing my library shelves and shuts the door for me, locks it, puts all my devices on airplane mode, and a tiny cubby in the wall next to my loveseat opens, exposing a fresh glass of milk and next to it, the three books i am currently consuming, and if anyone is to knock or disturb me in any way my werewolf children will maul them

Some of you readers are like me. We write in every book. We flag the important pages, color-code our favorite passages, scrawl notes, diary entries, and current crushes in the margins. We transform them into archives.

And some of y’all are like my mom and you hold such a high reverence for your books that you don’t even dare eat while you read for fear of soiling the crisp pages or getting mustard on the spine. (Which I have done and I do feel bad about).

Both are okay. Both of these respect books for their worth. Read books your way.
