As he later wrote, “My condition was verging on madness; it was touch and go.” Subject to hallucinations and persecutory delusions, he entered the nerve clinic of Daniel Jacobson in Copenhagen. The therapy Munch received for the next eight months included diet, ice baths and electrification. After he had settled in, Jacobson allowed Munch to draw, paint, and engage in photography.]
