Witchers can't get hayfever - sneezing uncontrollably while sneaking up on a leshen is a great way to end up dead - so the first year they hear all the servants sneezing the Witchers maybe panic a bit. Or a lot. This is pre-Triss, too, so there's no one to tell them it's not actually a plague.

Eventually they learn that this Just Happens and then after Triss arrives she provides appropriate anti-allergy meds when Sneezing Season starts.

i’ve recently been delighting in the pieces of the accidental warlord verse that involve ciri’s (maternal) birth family, and i have to wonder about her relationship with crach. they seem close in the fic where calanthe comes to meet them! i just think about her calling him oide (like cerys and hjalmar call elen muime) and i’m so incredibly charmed. and i bet ragnar and loki would be stoked for another big sister! idk if you have plans to show them again but i think all the time about how happy she probably is to have little brothers, like little julian but without the guilt and baggage lol. i love that she’s just cheerfully weaving together a massive continent-spanning family 🥰🥰🥰 she deserves it. they all do <33

I read the supplement for AW and the sexually transmitted immortality note that the witcher has to be unstressed, not have their mutagens focused healing themselves and so free-floating enough to share, is such a great detail so no witcher can be captured and starved or tortured, or even made depressed, and still be harvested by the captor to make any kind of immortality potion. Tricks, tho... I have wondered for spying if some mage is working on a way to hide emotion or lie to Witchers.

Pretty much every mage on the Continent is desperately working on a way to lie to Witchers.

Given that this is the "good timeline" version, I doubt any of them will succeed.

And yeah, whatever the Sexually Transmitted Immortality factor actually is (whether it really is fluid transfer or whether it's just having a Witcher like you enough to want to keep you around), it only works with happy, healthy, unstressed Witchers.

Hello my dear inex, I'm thinking about when Sasha has learned the scripts for Kaer Morhen. Injecting the correct level and sincerity of fealty into his "White Wolf". Hooting properly at Consort Jaskier's bawdier songs. Appropriately heckling witchers at training. Snapping out a quick "Fuck you" in PRECISELY Lambert's diction. Dunking someone in a hot spring when they have very clearly asked for it by being an ass while he was within reach of their ankle. Maybe even someday teasing Miss Karolina.

I am now imagining Mikolaj coming to visit and seeing his Very Proper big brother tell a Witcher 'fuck you!' as if it's perfectly normal to do so and just being So Very Confused.

At the end of Raindrops the Children of Rain, Lambert asking Milena whether she would want a child got me thinking.

Of course if she ever does change her mind, their position would mean she has her pick from all the orphans in the Wolflands (and sorceress friends who would portal her to meet them and bring them home- no Anne of Green Gables “we ordered a boy” mishaps for her), but if she wanted to conceive and birth a child, and Aiden and Alexander were also interested in obtaining a wee human, they could team up, and the four of them co-parent a sweet, honorable, prickly little bastard.

And someone would suggest they name their baby Bellegarde to needle Geralt.

It is distinctly possible that at some point well after the intended endpoint of the series, Lambert and Milena and Aiden and Sasha all end up coparenting a child of Milena and Sasha's blood. Bellegarde would be a hilarious name choice, too. Geralt would go up mountain with the baby.

Random thought while rereading ch3 of Another Man's Treasure:

Alpha!Milena with CAW!lambert/aiden

I have no idea how it happens (contract gone wrong? Theyre contracted to get her from Roggeven to Velen holdings after a previous escape attempt?) But milena is very intrigued by the witchers who work together so *smoothly*, and *they* smell so wonderful -

And Lambert and Aiden are utterly besotted with each other, obviously, but they can't ignore the fact that *Milena* smells so delightful, and her scent *fits*

And then, of course, her rut hits, or some sort of spell is flung, or there's a poison mixup, and whoops the only recourse is for all three to spend time *very* close together because dynamics-related-bullshit-reasons a la Prize to Be Won

(And of course, afterwards, the witchers abscond with their alpha, and Vesemir just throws his hands in the air that winter when they show up with her because 'of course, since we're already picking up a griffin and a gods-be-damned *viper* - )

Vesemir is going to go and get his Cat, and possibly also his Countess and maybe an elven king, that'll show his lads right and proper. They're not the only ones who can scandalize everyone! He did it first and he does it better!

Alpha!Milena would absolutely give a different flavor to the story and I love the idea. Hmmmm.... *plotbunnies intensify*
