#ahhhh she sounds so good!!!#I bet those lyrics hit hard for an understudy #it sounded like she took the beginning a little slower than normal and I liked that #it also sounded like LJ was really responding to her Star as opposed to playing Michael like always #me when professional stage actors do their jobs lol #the lost boys musical #the lost boys

You know what? I wanna talk about how Max is even more fucked up than I, and maybe we as a fandom, give him credit for.

Obviously, he has fucked up ideas about family and parenting. (“It’s for his own good, Lucy, boys need chains” is maybe the most chilling lyric in the whole show.) And we know that he thinks the Lost Boys are delinquents. Which could be easily explained away by the fact that they’re goddamn, no-good, teenage vampires.

But that’s the thing. Max is a vampire. The head vampire, in fact. So if the Lost Boys are bad, how fucking evil must Max be??

Seriously. We know nothing about Max’s feeding habits - necessarily, for the reveal to work. Theoretically, he could be a “vegetarian” (only feeding on non-human creatures); however, the things we do know about him (ex. he’s willing to let innocent children be turned into vampires to further his own agenda — forcing their mother to marry him and take on the burden of parenting his four kids) indicate that he is not exactly a paragon of virtue.

Who does Max feed on? Teenagers outside the abortion clinic? Queer kids sharing their first kiss by the pier? Wives who couldn’t take the abuse any longer and stepped out on their husbands just to feel like life was worth living again? Homeless people sullying the streets of Santa Carla by the sheer fact of their existence? How is he using his supernatural advantages to impose his own agenda on the world? In that way, Max is worse because he

Y'all who are out here putting in the effort to be fans of Marko, Paul, and Dwayne are very impressive to me, genuinely. You all are an important part of this fandom ecosystem and I admire your ability to take side characters and make them your whole deal. You're doing amazing work.
