After Loma Prieta earthquake hit San Francisco in 1989 a group of Sea Lions sought refuge at Pier 39 Dock. Repair from predators and rich supply of food led the group of animals to station on piers 39 permanently. In November 2009 the number of sea lions reach the record of 1701. This data rise and drop according to change of seasons and migration pattern, but visitors are reassured: they will always find sea lions at Piers 39.;)
The Gondola is the typical Venetian boat, mentioned for the first time in literature in 1094. At those times it was one of main mean of transportation in Venice because its flat bottom made it perfect to navigate the lagoon channels. It is also asymmetrical in its shape as it is propelled by only one man with a single rowing oar. Nowadays it is mainly a tourist attraction, but a tour of Venice on a gondola is unmissable.
Merry Christmas everyone 💖💖💖💖
Nyhavn, a channel of the old town centre dominated by colourful restaurants and bars, is normally considered Copenhagen most iconic view. In fact, the Danish Capital offers other breathtaking waterfronts especially in Christianshavn and Nordhavn. Those two are the areas where Christian IV founded his harbour in the17th century. Nowadays they host the most contemporary and eco-friendly architectures in the country, such as the “Black Diamond” (the public library) and the Opera House.
Gouda cheese is a typical Dutch Food. The name comes from the town Gouda, where the cheese was sold and still today a "cheesy" weekly market takes place. The first mention of Gouda cheese in "culinary" literature is in 1184, making this delicacy the first ever recorded cheese in the world. Also its mild flavour makes it one of the most sold in Europe.
Plovdiv Roman theatre is the symbol of the city, it's still in use and can sit around 6000 spectators. It hosts a very long list of international events, including drama and operatic festivals. It's one of best preserved Roman theatre in the world in what it is considered to be the oldest city in Europe.

At 9pm every night fireworks illuminate the sky over Cinderella' Castle, just before the closing of the park. It's the most popular park in the world with over 58 millions paying visitors.

Central Market in Riga is over 72,000 sm and it’s the largest in Europe. No surprise as for its location they reused 5 zeppelin hangars built by Germans during I World War. Due to this pecularity Riga Central Market has also been included in Unesco World Heritage Site in 1998.
Hāna “KA AINA KA UA KEA” translated from Hawaian language means “The land of the laying cloud” and it does refer to the north east coast of Maui Island. This proverb is fairly appropriate because Hāna comparing to the very sunny climate of southern Maui, is humid and often cloudy due to tropical weather and strong wind. Hāna highways, that connects north to east, is also known as Road to Hāna. Traveling along this scenic and winding road you may find yourself driving into the rainy forest, with its green lakes, small waterfalls, colourful flowers, enormous trees and tall bamboo forests. That’s maybe the reason why driving this 52 miles road may take up to 4 hours!
Tabarca is a very small island near Alicante, in Spain. Up to the the end of the 18th century Tabarca was the refuge of the Barbary Pirates. It was then decided by edit that the island should have been populated and a group Genoese together with a Spanish garrison moved to Tabarca. Around 1840 the garrison was removed and a a small group of fishermen remained on the island. In the cold Sweden “fika” is an important and traditional ritual. This expression normally translates as “coffee and dessert break” but it is much more than this, representing for Swedes what an afternoon tea represents for Brits. Fika is moment to pause your life and enjoy a nice hot drink with a cake in company of a good friend. Because sharing it with our dear ones it’s all that makes a difference and matters to have a good and “profitable” fika ;-)
Menorca may be considered the least “fashionable” within the Balearic Islands, but beaches are definitely the “top of the range”. Macarella and the walk to Macarelleta are the most touristic spots in Menorca but all along the coast you can find plenty of little hidden gems such as our favourite: Cala Binidali. This beach is very tiny and located in the proximity of the small village of Binidali on the south-eastern coast of the island. You need to park your car in the vicinity and walk down a steep trail to reach “la platge”. Cala Binidali is free and open to everyone included naturists, like most beaches in Menorca. There are no bars, restaurants or toilets but its beauty will definitely keep you company.
A ride on tram 28 is definitely on the list of the “things to do” once in Lisbon. This cable car is about 90 years old and it’s still in use because modern trams would not fit in the winding and narrow roads in Alfama. Single ticket is 3 euros, but the price for one-day tickets is around 6.40, including unlimited rides on the tram lines and also on the two elevators in the town. First stop is in Martim Moniz and the last in Campo Ourique, passing through Graca, Alfama, Baixa and Estrela. Tram is often busy, so please be aware of pickpockets!
Berat is an old Town in Albania, one of the 3 Unesco World Heritage Sites of the country. The peculiar architecture in the area and an enourmous number of trails on the surrending mountains make it one of the most visited site in Albania. Berat is also a place where several religions coexisted over the centuries. Historians report that during the II War World 60 Muslim and Christian families hided in their houses Jewish families to protect them from nazi persecution
