Send “Examine!” and an item or person and I’ll write an RPG description of it/them.
(For example, a stormtrooper mask:
“A white mask with a black visor on the front. Putting it on, you realise that the visor isn’t even transparent. How are you expected to do anything competently like this?”)

literal-greatsword-girl:
Riteraru’s confusion would only grow, she thought she was going to test her blade to make sure she was worthy? “Oh I get it now. My you’re confident!” she said her face beaming with excitement and confidence now. She rose her hand up and the weapon Iruka had just set down would fly right into her hand. The weapon drawing itself and the sheath taking a spot floating around her front mimicking her wielding two blades.
She’d use both hands and make a leaping slash easy to dodge with way too much wind up by she also attacked without really explaining what just happened with the odachi.
Iruka didn’t understand in the slightest what was happening- but what she did know was that now her opponent was armed with a youkai blade, and she was completely unarmed. And that was a situation that had too many unfavorable results- she needed to rectify this, somehow. Rolling to the side to avoid the slash- which she notes as unrefined- she grabs a wooden training sword from one of the racks and brings it to bear. She could at the very least augment her reach this way.
With no hesitation, she moves- she’s little more than a flicker before she swings her wooden sword down in a wicked arc, an overhead slash careening towards this strange intruder.

“Eh?” she said with a tilt of her head. But she was already being wielded by her, so why does she want to fight? Tapping her fist on the palm of her hand. “Oh a test I get it,” she said more to herself. Which brought on another problem how was she going to fight if the person she was facing was holding her? That idea got pushed out though in favor of a simple ‘eh it’ll work itself out somehow’ thought.
She raised her hands taking what she thought would be a fist to fist kind of stance. Though one full of holes since she was just copying what she had once seen on a TV.
Leaping out of the way of the sword’s clumsy punch, Iruka sets the actual blade off to the side, against the wall. She was confused as to why this person would attack her with her bare fist while she still held a blade... but she could win in a hand-to-hand melee, if that were the extent of this new woman’s abilities.
Settling into a proper fighting stance, Iruka moves back to the center of the dojo, now unarmed, but readying herself for another strike. If she was attacked the same way again, she would be able to throw Riteraru with ease.

“But you brought me here, who even does that leads someone along then dismisses them?” she complained before pointing at the woman. “It’s only fair to let me hang around the place you bring me to,” Her reasoning was sound, in her head at least. Taking a step back and explaining she is the blade being held by Iruka? Nah instead Riteraru just assumes she knows already.
“I was followed? But I didn’t sense you at all...” Iruka ponders this for a moment, and decides that this person was probably really strong- and Iruka has one particular desire in regards to people that are strong. “If you’re strong enough to oppose me like this, why don’t we fight? The winner gets to stay.”

“Oh is this your house?” she asked with a tilt of her head. The voice had died down in the blade as it wasn’t trying to locate itself anymore. Though it would have been useful in pointing out that the intruder was just the weapon she bought. “This place looked fun so I invited myself in!” she cheered as though what she just said was at all a reasonable way of thinking of things.
“This isn’t my house, it’s my friend’s. You need to leave.” Iruka moves her hand away from the sword’s hilt, but begins moving towards the intruder, clearly intending to remove her from the premises- either by force, or by simply guiding her out. “Come on.”

Riteraru would hear her and answer, “Who’s Yae-san?” her voice rang from the blade. At this point her humanoid form was almost within earshot. So it only took a few more seconds until she was waltzing into the dojo repeating literally whatever her other half was saying. “Who’s Yae-san?” She’d say to no one walking around the dojo trying to properly locate her other body.
“Aw...” Iruka sighed, her grip on the scabbard still firm, and if anything growing tighter when Riteraru speaks. “I had hoped you were a normal blade... What are the chances of me coming upon two youkai blades in my lifetime?” The sword’s body, in fact, would come face to face with Iruka as she moves to leave the dojo- and she hops backwards, her hand hovering above Riteraru’s hilt, ready to strike at the intruder.
“You shouldn’t be in here- can’t just waltz into someone else’s house like this...”

Iruka would probably start feeling a presence within the blade as more and more of it’s aura began to reveal itself. Not only because it was being energized but her actions but by now Riteraru was near enough now that she could move once again. Though because of the hype rather than say anything or the like she instead did what she could to help the swords-woman along.
Iruka would feel less weight in the weapon and it seemed to move more and more in accordance to her will alongside her strength though it was still to a degree that someone of a lesser skill would just think they were stronger or something along those lines.
Iruka realizes exactly what it was that she felt before- this was clearly some kind of magical blade. Perhaps it wasn’t a youkai blade, but even so, she should have it looked at by a professional before she used it any more. So she sheathes the blade with a snap, and re-enters her dojo, leaving the remains of the dummies where they fell.
“I’m going to have to have Yae-san take a look at you...” She murmurs- mostly to herself, but also partially to the blade, wondering if perhaps it can hear her.

The blade worked wonderfully though as Riteraru closed in the more not normal aspects of the blade began to manifest. The blade seemed warm to the touch and the smell of a forge would faintly waft around it. Aside from those two things the blade proved itself to be a masterwork of forging.
Feeling more and more energized by whoever Riteraru could feel holding her she slowly increased her pace now walking properly as opposed to her sluggish pace from before.
Iruka began to display her own less-than-normal features. Excited and energized by the feel of the blade itself, she moved- faster than most people would be able to follow with their eyes, and swept the blade downwards, cleaving through the next dummy with a vicious arc.
She appears to shift slightly before simply swiping the blade upwards, finding the next target with ease, cleaving that in twain as well with an upward slash.
She had never felt more alive than when she was doing exactly what she had trained for her entire life to do- wield a blade like the samurai of old... though with a style that survived to this day.

The blade would be in impeccable condition. In fact one may think in too good condition for it to be in a pawn shop. It probably should be in a museum or an art gallery. Either way it was a proper odachi made to be used in combat and not some kind of art piece. The blade seemed to resonate with her eagerness and with it act like a beacon for the humanoid form to locate them.
Though for the humanoid form being so far away from her other half without having had a meal lately meant she was being sluggish at best and half asleep at worse. So her new would be owner still had a good amount of time before she would catch up.
Though Iruka frowned when the blade appeared to hum in her hands. But it appeared to subside almost immediately- but in fact, she had simply become used to it. Standing and sheathing the blade in a smooth motion, she strides outside, setting the blade against the wall as she sets up the dummies. Simple traditional bamboo sheets wrapped into a tight coil.
When they’re properly set up, she returns to the blade, picking it up and properly inserting the sheathe into her belt. Then she moves to the first dummy. She unsheathes the blade as normal, setting the edge against the side of the dummy... then she twists, swiping the blade through the dummy- any standard blade would serve for this purpose, so she was mostly testing the feel of it.

It was a combination of being picked up and having a distance between her two bodies that woke her up again. Her humanoid body was slow to rise and began to explore around her and look for her other half.
Meanwhile the blade would remain quiet half because she wasn’t really sure what was going on and half because she simply enjoyed the feeling of being carried by hands she could tell has wielded weapons before. Like a small game of hot and cold as she got closer to her body the weapon would show more of it’s energy. Not that it could really be noticed with the distance still between the two bodies.
Iruka practically sprinted home with how excited she was. Of course, she would have to look over the blade, make sure that it was well cared for, and make any restorations that she needed to- Then, of course, she could test the blade out on some of the dummies she had gotten set up.
She enters her dojo, sitting cross-legged with the blade across her lap. She unsheathes it and looks it over, training a careful eye over every part of the sword for signs of disuse.

The odachi awoke from a nap only to find something was different today. Yes it seemed her human-like body was nowhere to be found. Though her human-like body was only recent and more often then not she had to remind herself of that body rather then the other way around. When she tried to float up she banged on something, still half asleep she noticed that she was in a display case! Looking around she noticed a lot of stuff hung up or on shelves. So in a display of great ‘I’ll deal with it later’ Riteraru went back to sleep sure she could sleep for years on end but that was a problem for when she woke up. Someone probably should have mentioned to the girl that her human-like body was also asleep in the alley next to the shop buried under a pile of empty boxes.
Iruka, after her unintentional visit to Gensokyo, had finally decided that she had to remain in Sakurashin Town- she had an oath to uphold, after all... sword or no. But that didn’t keep her from occasionally looking around for a sword of her own- and today, that search brought her to a pawn shop.
Listlessly, she wandered around the shop, glancing at the knicknacks and various devices that covered the walls, until she came to the display case. Her eyes immediately locked onto the blade. Leaning against the glass, she searched for a price tag.
She speaks animatedly with the shopkeeper, and pays with a card- dipping into her family’s considerable fortune. She declines a bag, and carries the sword- respectfully, but at ease with the weapon- back to the home where she was staying.
betweenhumanandyoukai:
“Even with that short of a description, it’s obvious that you’re talking about a cursed magical sword, which is something completely normal for those types of blades to do to its wielder. Of course, I can understand that you’d need to recover from such an experience. Though it is quite a surprise that you still wish to hold a blade again. Especially when there were even those back then that refused touch a blade afterwards, those that were lucky enough anyway.” Ah! But he should stop rambling on about that and just move on to the other thing they said.
“Oh, and I know… That’s because I chose not to answer.”
“I mean, I suppose that ‘cursed’ could be a proper descriptor. But in truth, he was just a youkai blade that hungered for the blood of oni.” A pair of oni were some of her friends, now... and to think that she had almost sawed them in half during one of her ‘episodes’ gave her regular nightmares.
“I cannot afford to leave myself disarmed when my new home needs to be protected. I couldn’t forgive myself if something happens that I could have prevented.”
She pauses again, considering his words.
“That’s very rude.”
betweenhumanandyoukai:
“And you’re saying you can’t make your own history with a blade infused with magic and the like? That saying is just so that regular blacksmiths back then could make more money from the samurais!”
“But whatever… and it’d be far better for you to figure out by yourself from here on out.”
“My experiences with magical blades have been... horrifying, to say the least. So maybe I should err on the side of caution.” After all, her last sword had possessed her during the night, making her go on various killing sprees.
“Wait, but you didn’t answer my last question...”
betweenhumanandyoukai:
“Oh, sure~! You don’t want a magical sword but you’re completely fine if the magical sword is also a cute girl!”
“Of course I don’t want a magical sword- the power is certainly a draw, but... if I don’t forge my own history with a blade, is it really being wielded to its full extent?”
She pauses.
“Wait, what magical sword is a cute girl?”
literal-greatsword-girl replied to your post: Blade length now if you'll excuse the sword girl...
It makes me happy to see Riteraru getting swung around. Good sword girl doing what she was made for
And hey, Iruka will treat her real nice. She treats her sword nice
And if she realizes that she’s actually a youkai blade (which seems like... obvious eventually because she’s wielded one before) she’ll like talk to her and stuff
With a real powerful sword in her hands, Iruka is TERRIFYING
Like, she’s fast as hell and very precise even without a magic sword, but with a youkai blade she literally just
Does REAL anime explody shit
