Clark feels more comfortable to share his abilities with Alicia than Lana.
Let that sink in for a second.
So Alicia turned out to be a major psycho…
It’s on me really, why would Clark catch a break, I should have known better.
Anyways, 8 more episodes until season 4 which means Lois is finally coming!!

Smallville 10x4 Homecoming
Clark & Lana - Seasons 1 & 2
As someone who is watching Smallville for the first time I cannot comprehend how anyone can prefer Lana instead of Lois. It is beyond me. I haven't even seen Lois yet and I already know Lana doesn't even hold a candle to her.
Fair enough, people can have different opinions, different tastes, but this is not even about the couples, it is simply about Lana. She is one of the most annoying characters I have ever seen in a tv show, I repeat I haven't seen Lois yet!!
I was more than prepared to ship Clark with both of them. Lana and Lois are such huge parts of Clark's life, they are both important in different ways and they both contribute to who he is as a person. Clark's romantic involvement with them doesn't even really overlap, that's how it's always been, in the comics, in previous adaptations and from what I noticed in Smallville as well. So there was no point getting invested in a ship war when there is not really a war to begin with. With such a long tv show why not try to enjoy everything it has to offer, right? Ha, I wish.
The more I get into Smallville I notice that Lana just thrives on making sure she is the most insufferable character in the series.
She is manipulative, and you can see that from the first season with the way she keeps stringing along both Clark and Whitney. She plays the role of the innocent girl next door while pulling the most diabolical moves.
In season 1 episode 8 "Shimmer", Whitney acts weird around Lana because he is dealing with his father's hospitalisation and doesn't want to involve her considering her own past with her parents. What does Lana do? She encourages Clark's advances and when he ends up not acting on it, SHE is mad at Clark. Girl what? Girl excuse me?? You are in a relationship and you get mad at Clark for not trying to make a move on you?? That is messed up.
Then in the next episode "Hug", when she falls of the horse and wakes up with Kyle Tippet in front of her, although she is not sure of what happened, she encourages Whitney's nasty attitude towards Kyle and completely dismisses Clark's doubt of what really happened. HOW CAN SHE SWITCH UP SO FAST?? Literally one episode ago she was ready to cheat on her boyfriend with Clark, but now when Clark questions Whitney's behaviour she is all like "Clark, how dare you, Whitney is perfect. Whitney would never."
It's one thing if she was evil and owned it or if she was just the innocent girl next door, but she is trying to be both and it just doesn't work. It makes no sense for her character, there is no character development involved because there is no room for development. Not when she keeps being hot and cold, she is quite literally giving me whiplash which makes her such an unlikeable character and diminishes completely the credibility of any romance between her and Clark.
At the end of season 1 she has the perfect opportunity to break up with Whitney and pursue something with Clark, but she doesn't! She says nothing, she kisses Whitney goodbye and as soon as he is gone she goes on to record a break up video for him. That is so evil, who does that?? I won't get into more of Whitney's storyline after that because it just makes me sad, but even when he is out of the picture Lana still doesn't know what she wants. How is that even possible?
She keeps shaming Clark for his actions as if she is his wife or something, girl you never even dated! You are what, 15-16 in high school and yet you keep putting all these unrealistic expectations on him and basically just making his life harder. JUST BE WITH HIM OR NOT!!
I just started season 3 and I thought with the way things ended in season 2 maybe now she will stay in one lane, but of course she didn't! She is desperate to find him in Metropolis and yet when he comes back to her she keeps making it all about herself, but wait 20 minutes later she changed her mind yet again and now she wants him. Of course, it's Lana that's just how she operates.
At this point in time when the first seasons of Smallville take place, Clark needs someone constant in his life, someone like his parents, someone like Chloe and Pete, even someone like Lex. Lex manages to support Clark more than Lana does and knowing the history between Superman and Lex Luthor that is just so ironic. Lana is just not that person for Clark, she can't be no matter how much she tries, she is supposed to be a safe haven for him and she is just a burden.
There is a reason why Clark and Lana aren't endgame, there is a reason why the entire world knows about Clark Kent and Lois Lane and there is a reason why Superman's better half was, is and will always be Lois Lane. Smallville is just another perfect example of that. So while the whole drama between Clark and Lana gives me a major ick, I will happily keep watching knowing that I have one season left until Lois shows up to make both my and Clark's lives better.
Also, I do love the show, I will make separate posts about different aspects of it, Lana is the only aspect of it that makes me roll my eyes, but she is just a minor inconvenience compared to everything the show has to offer. I am so excited for what comes next!!
Tom Blyth as Alex Nilsen PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION (2026)
People we meet on vacation was kind of disappointing and this is coming from someone who isn’t such a big fan of the book either.
Wow, just wow, leaving Tom and Emily’s acting aside which was superb I feel like they missed so many crucial points.
And you know what, missing stuff is one thing, but adding elements that interfere with the characters’ development and their dynamic?? That’s a whole other thing.
Why did they have to make Alex and Sarah high school sweethearts?
In what world would Alex propose to Sarah after Poppy’s pregnancy scare?
Why did they got rid of Croatia??😫 Croatia was such a big part of the plot! Them trying to mix Tuscany with Croatia failed big time.
This is why I am terrified of book to movie adaptations. Like I said, I am not even that fond of this book, but imagine if I were??
Imagine! If! I! Were!
This should have been a limited series, I really enjoyed the beginning, but by the middle of it I started stressing realising all the parts they were skipping.
tom blyth romcom version? spectacular, give me 14 of them right now
I am watching Smallville for the first time, I am on season two and tell me why am I already so tired of Lana?
Honestly, this girl is so easily manipulated it stresses me out. She keeps telling Clark about how a relationship is built on trust and blah blah but every single time there is someone who tries to put Clark in a bad light SHE IS THE FIRST TO BELIEVE THEM.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN😫😫😫
