In my experience, women tend to create a collective around them and then it is ‘lets go into battle together’. For me, it is this type of approach, collaboration, collective thinking that is useful in this industry, an industry full of innovation.” — Emma Kaye.

It’s been a while since i’ve been blogging but it truly does not mean nothing has been happening. Actually i’ve been working a lot on the ground, trying to push some doors in my professional life as a social media Consultant, Trainer (adding that skill to my CV), Community Manager, and an Entre(mom)preneure. Nothing comes easily when you are not really in your comfort zone but it’s all about finding your balance, hard work and patience. And to be honest, it looks like it's paying off ;-)
On this blog, i will continue blogging about Tech, social media in English and French as much as i can but to the list, i will definitely be adding entrepreneurship.
As for today, i will just be posting a video where you can see me promoting co-working in Martinique. I guess i should introduce it into French now …
Enjoy ! ;-)

PIX OF THE DAY : EntrepreneurE.
From the largest technology companies to early stage investors, American high tech companies and venture capitalists are increasingly supporting startups accross the African continent. Read more
The tech industry has a gender problem.
Let’s consider this: Women comprise only about a quarter of all employees at tech behemoths Apple, Google, Facebook, Oracle and Microsoft. When it comes to launching tech ventures, the situation only gets worse: Just 10% of high-growth tech company founders are women.
Women make up a significant portion of the tech-consumer market — so it makes little sense that there is such disconnect in the professional spectrum. The benefits of a diversified workforce are numerous, especially considering that many American women are highly active on the Internet and social networking sites...
My 2 favourite points of this article that i would like to highlight:
1 - Trust your intuition and build something unique
2 - Embrace curiosity

The Next 10 Years
Last December, Le Web'13 , an international conference for startups and web entrepreneurs, celebrated their 10th years Anniversary in Paris. Too far to attend to it but thanks to internet, i've never felt this close to be able to follow it online.
No highlights in my hands through SlideShare this time but i selected a few videos that might interest you. So let's start with Gary Vaynerchuck
Enjoy and be inspired!
Enjoy and be inspired!
Can we take a moment of silence to remember the tech of the past?
Hello 2014!
Happy New Year and best wishes to you all!!!!
My New Year's wish list: More posts. More inspirations. More ambitions. What about yours?
I'd like to start the year with Martinique Workatjelly. A concept allowing us (Entrepreneurs, Freelancers, students...) to work in a same environment once a month (for now) and exchange as network with one another. We call it co-working and although i was aware of this kind of working place back in London, i attended to my very first one, here in Martinique.
My feedback:
A great atmosphere, nice and friendly people. Delicious food. Oh sorry! I have not mentioned it yet but if you choose to stay the whole day, they serve you a "yummy" buffet for lunch for a small amount of money (cf all details on their website). In the middle of the afternoon, they also have a Jelly Connect session. A 45 min Google Hangout Conf with worldwide Entrepreneurs and which main goals are to find a never ended inspiration, stay as open-minded as motivated and also receive or exchange specific tips and advice related to Entrepreneurship.
I have to admit, this part is one of my favourite and the reason why i will come back next month ;-) By the way, a quick thank you to Magali Boisseau Becceril for sharing her experience of BedyCasa.com with us.
So Martinique Workatjelly is, overall, a learning experience that i recommend to everybody living here in Martinique.

I stumbled upon Social Media Week event a few years ago and immediately loved the concept. To me, this event is really all about LEARNING, SHARING and NETWORKING. No wonder why i’m excited each year to follow it.
For now, i’m used to follow the ones happening in London and New York. Well physically i attended once to the Social Media Week in London but hopefully one day, i’ll have the opportunity to participate to it and (physically) be in New York :)
Last year in New York, i was pleasantly surprised to see they had on their list of conferences: "Meet the Afropolitans". l followed the event online and found it very inspiring. You can have a quick look at it here: http://iaminternational.tumblr.com/post/17881564727/social-media-week-empowering-change-through
This year in London, with the collaboration of Social Media Week Lagos, they talked about: "Africa Open and Connected" Very interesting as well. Interesting panelists and lots of good discussions and debates. Overall, a nice way to see how social media is making its way into Africa, among the diaspora and how it’s being used.
I couldn't attend to it either so if like me you've missed the event, you can watch SMW London’s Africa: Open and Connected… A day of Conversation and Networking Curated by SMW Lagos on Livestream.com here: http://new.livestream.com/accounts/65381/events/2417810 and follow the conversations behind the hashtag #smwAfrica
The Power of The Digital Diaspora conference was also part of SMW London. I’m glad i got the chance to catch up the summary through Storify http://sfy.co/iSF7 as well as the hashtag #smwdigitaldiaspora
