What the Blazes by Steve Janosik Via Flickr: December 2018, White Trail Loop, Wekiwa Springs State Park (Apopka, Florida). This was a challenging 13 mile hike through Florida swamp and then sandhills. We were in so much water and mud that it seemed we might have veered off the trail, but the bright white blazes assured us that the "trail" was directly in front. At some point I had to put my camera away so we could double-time it out of the wilderness before sundown. I missed some photograph opportunities, so we'll definitely be returning.

Teton Mountain Range Peaks by Steve Janosik Via Flickr: Grand Teton National Park, August 2017. This vantage point is north of Amphitheater Lake up a short hike (and scramble if you feel like it). The multiple peaks from left to right are: Disappointment Peak, Grand Teton, Mt. Owen and Teewinot Mountain. Teton Glacier is located behind the scree saddle.

July 4th Backpacking by Steve Janosik Via Flickr: Cumberland Island Wilderness Area (Georgia), Brickhill Bluff Campsite - I would definitely recommend this national seashore and maritime forest backpacking trip, but don't do it in the summer months unless you're hot weather and humidity acclimated (heat index was 125 F this trip). Excluding a wild horse, we had the Brickhill Bluff camping area to ourselves. There are some nice surprises to reward the 10.5 mile hike north from the Sea Camp ferry dock. There are also plenty of day hiking opportunities from this spot, including a short 2.5 mile run to the Atlantic Ocean side beach. Over the 13 miles hiking along the beach back to Sea Camp (where most people setup camp), we only encountered 1 researcher and 1 family (assuming they were permanent residents). That's my kind of beach.

On the Slopes by Steve Janosik Via Flickr: 2015 Tongariro Alpine Crossing, New Zealand. This is a great trek that joins two different summits, one more rocky and another nicely formed cinder cone. Other great surprises along the way, too!

On the Cliffs by Steve Janosik Via Flickr: Precipice Trail, Acadia National Park, Maine. Not one of my stronger photographs, but this iron rung trail warrants space on my picture book of travels. I highly recommend this experience if you visit Acadia National Park. I attempted to ascend without using the iron rungs - I didn't make it all that far!
