7 Days of Witch Dabbling - Okay, I was gonna not start it but I think we need an example template. This is an all rounder on my practice.
It’s gonna look a bit weird but whatever.
Monday - Necklace Divination or Ring on a Thread Divination. It’s a type of pendulum divination. Hold a length of the chain or thread over your hand with a weighted pendant or ring at the bottom. Elbow on a table or some sturdy. Some say to use something you wear a lot but I don’t wear my stone or metal pendulums so. I mean, it’s fine. then put your hand palm side up underneath so that it’s not preventing the pendulum from moving.
“Show me yes” - memorize pattern, forcibly stop the pendulum with your palm side up hand, (I usually run it down the length of the chain to get it to stop swinging)
“Show me no” - memorize pattern, forcibly stop the pendulum with your palm side up hand, (I usually run it down the length of the chain to get it to stop swinging)
“Show me cannot answer” - memorize pattern, forcibly stop the pendulum with your palm side up hand, (I usually run it down the length of the chain to get it to stop swinging)
“Show me refused answer” - memorize pattern, forcibly stop the pendulum with your palm side up hand, (I usually run it down the length of the chain to get it to stop swinging)
Watch the pattern. Bigger the swing the more involved the question.
I have used pendulums down to hour marks and to locate lost items.
I couldn’t find the knot magic spell I was gonna link which was related to using your hair. But here’s a cute one from a :/ hosting space:

Wednesday - Ritual Bathing
So there’s a lot about Ritual Bathing in general online (somewhat religious, somewhat closed cultural). But Ritual Bathing in the basics for my discussion here is done with the purpose of pulling your thoughts out of your mind and silencing it. Basically whatever way you bathe yourself comfortably [shower, pat down, bath, etc] & with the express goal of letting the water pull out everything and silence you. It’s a repeated water wash. But you will need to set the mood however you want for silence.
Because I don’t think or speak in my spells, so this is a very important part of my practice. Also, I left out details on purpose.
Thursday - Written Spell Method
Take a glass of water. Take a writing implement (whether that’s just your finger or a paint brush). Write words on your skin. Let the water dry, repeat with another word or the same word, in another place or the same place. Continue until the glass of water is empty.
Friday - Energy Manipulation - That Hand Thing Shit
https://www.mind-energy.net/archives/41-feel-energy-between-your-hands.html
Saturday / Sunday - Enchanted Artwork.
Day 1 - Enchant the Tools of the Trade (ie, paint, crayons, paper, pens, etc the art stuff). Hold them in your hands, pray over them (or talk over them/command them), breath on them, spit on them, put them out in the sun, sigil them, pass them through a ritual flame, whatever. Enchant them.
Day 2 - Use the tools, and layer the spell down into the act of making the art. Meaning the subject matter of the art or the content of the art is not relevant, but the way and form you’re putting down does. You push the form of the spell via the enchanted items. And you a done casting when you’re done making.
I challenge @traegorn, @upthewitchypunx, @thiscrookedcrown, @cannibalcoalition, & @lazywitchling to complete the 7 day compression. Take the big ticket items and summarize them down to the days for a dabbler to take hold of.
Edit: Clarity from 2024:
For thursday you should only use as much water as you’re willing to sit and wait for it to dry. Does not have to be an entire glass (12oz+), it can be a small amount. Whatever you’re willing to sit and finish if possible.
