Working out that left hand trying to explain why I’m not a fan of mountain roads.

Quick pic to remind people I'm alive.

MONTRÉAL — In the 24/7 news cycle of BuzzFeed, the Huffington Post, and every other “content producer” on the internet, there is a fine line between news and entertainment. In the group exhibition You Won’t Believe (…): A Group Exhibition about Entertainment at Division Gallery in Montréal, Québec, curator Loreta Lamargese appropriates the now-iconic Buzzfeed homepage, creating an exhibition postcard that pretends to entice the art viewer with the super clicky non-headline “You Won’t Believe What Happened When These 22 Artists Got Together For A Show.” Today it’s increasingly hard to discern between information, spectacle, entertainment, and infotainment. The works in this exhibition intelligently speak to this issue, but at times come across so tongue-in-cheek so as to feel either flat and data-driven or hyper-emotional like the internet media environment itself.

Oh balls I'm back in the US. I haven't updated in a while because recently instagram hasn't been able to get over the great firewall. However, I'm here now so I can spam y'all again.
I broke my foot and will be in a cast for about a month. I also will be returning to US in January sometime.
Mind your 夬. Im getting a rundown on the print lab this week so I promise prints soon... For both our sake. Otherwise keep your eyes on the blog for some gif action I'll be posting!

Settling in
I finally have some time to sit down and get some thoughts out about everything here in China. First off, the campus I am staying at is located in one of the nicest cities I have ever been in. Hangzhou reminds me of Columbus except there are more Porches, Maseratis and Ferraris than there are obese people. There is also a complete lack of Harleys, but an extreme amount of electric scooters. My dorm is located right across from westlake (xi'hu)which is a landmark for the People's Republic because it is ridiculously beautiful. I've begun studying language and so far it has been a slow learning process but I can order all the dumplings I ever will need so I'll take that as a success. The people here are extremely inviting, however most don't know any English or would rather not speak it so most of my interactions end up with me drawing out explanations or trying to pantomime which end up in even more confusion for everyone involved, but in the instances when we finally come to an understanding, the relief of the situation is totally worth the public scene.
I have switched to almost exclusively making gifs for WeChat right now which is why any animation updates will be grainy and poor. Once I have full access to the printmaking facilities and can understand everything that is being said to me I'll be producing big dumb pictures for ya'll once again. A lot has happened and I don't want to write now, but I'll do my best to keep anyone posted who might want to listen.
Feeling a highschool blast from the past with this language class
