What is the easiest bone in the human body to break? The hardest?
Celestial Illusion by Carlos F Turienzo
“Cobalt and umber and ultramarine, Ivory black and emerald green — What shall I paint to give pleasure to you?” “Paint for me somebody utterly new.” I have painted you tigers in crimson and white.“ "The colors were good and you painted them a-right.” “I have painted the cook and a camel in blue And a panther in purple.” “You painted them true. Now mix me a color that nobody knows And paint me a country where nobody goes And put in it people a little like you, watching a unicorn drinking the dew.”
The Paintbox, E. V. Rieu (via tigriswolf)
scheherazade, richard siken
As a light-sensitive person who feels acute pain around bright lights: is it something physically in my eyes or in however my brain processes light?
There is a reason we stand in ovation. There is a reason we stand for something. There is a reason we stand up, do not stand back, stand in solidarity & do not cross the picket line. Young man, you have no idea what’s coming.
Meg Day, from To My Student, Who Asked, ‘Since When Does a Bunch of Normal People Standing Around Actually Change Anything?’
Because holy shit this poem. Holy shit.

So painkillers block us from registering the pain, but it’s still there, right? We just don’t read it? So if you take painkiller so your foot doesn’t hurt, you should still try to avoid using it because your foot is still actually injured in some way?

Who you truly are…

If
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling
Not Waving But Drowning.
Nobody heard him, the dead man, But still he lay moaning: I was much further out than you thought And not waving but drowning. Poor chap, he always loved larking And now he's dead It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way, They said. Oh, no no no, it was too cold always (Still the dead one lay moaning) I was much too far out all my life And not waving but drowning. - Stevie Smith
Crepuscular rays of light shining through clouds in the sky
Would it hurt if someone drained all of the blood out of your body? It’d definitely kill you but until you passed out, would it hurt? What about the body parts that aren’t getting any blood because it’s pouring out, would they hurt?
