❝ you got to travel with your parents? ❞ lydia said, her tone growing a bit louder with excitement. the demoness couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous! it was a luxury her parents only had certain points of the year. ❝ my family doesn’t get to travel as much. that’s really nice. where did you go? ❞ the princess became invested in their conversation now, finding her curious piqued.
his expression hadn’t gone unnoticed. ❝ um, are you ok? ❞ she question.
oh, was he being shy? the demoness blinked before smiling, noticing he was hiding his flush. she nearly wanted to tease him even more but held back. public school? ah, general education. ❝ ah, your parents got to tutor you too? my parents…um…well, I have a private teacher and out classes are small. she can only handle us so much. you must have had a lot of fun. ❞ pausing for a moment. ❝ i’m sorry that happened to you. people are cruel but your parents made the right decision. it must’ve been a lot of fun. ❞ now lydia appeared a bit bummed out because she thought of Oliva and herself. Lydia saw her parents but they never really had time to teach or travel. both were too tired with the court. her brows knitted together, finding herself a little annoyed at the thought. but then Tadashi poke up again. ❝ Ah, my grandpa owns an olive company. Sometimes I get to work there if I complete all my studies and even better my grandmother owns a series of hot springs. It’s really fun to work there. I get to do whatever I want there!❞ Er. that statement might have been strange as Lydia frowned. ❝ I don’t get to do much if it’s not on my schedule my father sets. He…can be very controlling. But he reminds me it’s for my protect. ❞ Her hand clutching at her chest, finding herself a bit embarrassed. ❝ I can bring you back something? b-but it’s your birthday right? do you want to do something fun? ❞
“Yeah! I really enjoyed spending time with them on their adventures back in the day. They taught me a lot which comes in handy for my schooling. I’m not a teacher’s pet though unfortunately,” Tadashi chuckled lightly with a shrug of shoulders. “That’s a shame though you never got the same privilege. Being stuck in one place for too long kind of sucks. I mean, I don’t mind being on campus, but I’d rather be doing other things...”
“Me too kid. Me too.”
A sigh. “They mostly study pre-Columbian archaeology. So we spent a lot of time in the Americans. Mainly south. I think it would have been cooler if my parents were into ancient Egypt though.” “Hey! You’re only saying that because you’re stuck with me. I’m not the one that decided to pick up a piece of jade that didn’t belong to you. I should be thanking you for releasing me, but I’m stuck in your meat suit instead.” “Yeah, you got me.” He paused, realizing that he had replied to the demon housed within his body out loud once again. To cover that up, he just clears his throat and continues on. “An olive company? Olives are...delicious! What sort of olives? Do you also press them for olive oil or is that handled elsewhere for whoever buys your crops?” “You’re too chatty.” “And hot springs?! Where are you from again?” The vessel cants his crown, looking the girl over with more curiosity.
“Uh-oh! A controlling father! Abandon ship!”
‘Let’s just ignore that.’ This time, Todd replied with thought. “Well, I just came from working out and really shouldn’t be thinking about buying a pizza, but if you’re hungry, I could stop by and pick one up? I usually relax in Trinity Hall if you want to meet me there?”
