update about my rats as it’s been a while! completely forgot this blog existed hello 👋
so, a lot has happened since my last post. um, i’ll start of with medical things.
i found Dee bleeding from her vagina while cleaning her cage, so we took her to a vet and they gave us antibiotics, which worked, until a few weeks later that it happened again and this time the vet told us she needed a spey surgery, and when that was done i found out my little girl had two ovarian cysts! she’s okay now, fully recovered and healthy, her fur has all grown up and she’s back to her normal abundance of energy.
one day i found sammy struggling to breathe and it sounded like there was liquid in her lungs, so we took her to the vet and it turns out she has a permanent lung virus, so we have medicine that we give to her for a week or so depending on how long the disease flares. she just got off a two-week long cycle of medicine daily, and has been looking up, gaining some weight and she has a much fully, cleaner coat than when we started!
we moved houses while my parents were divorcing so now i have two houses, one with their original cage in it and one with a new, significantly larger cage in it. i’m currently in the house with the larger cage in it, and both Sammy and Dee are asleep in their blanket.
another birthday (Dec 3rd) went around, and they had fun during it, playing games and they even got two dark chocolate chips each. they spent the whole time i was awake outside their cage goofing around. it was fun.
anyway i think that’s most of it, aside from new toys and stuff, but yeah.
