I really hope the success of Project Hail Mary can show Hollywood that (among many other amazing things this movie did) you don’t need to shoehorn in a romance subplot that adds nothing and would actually probably take away from the overall message.

So many other filmmakers would’ve turned Stratt into a love interest, and the fact that they didn’t is huge. Stratt and Grace can have a complex relationship without it having to be romantic or sexual in nature. They can just be friends.

To have an incredibly popular, successful movie that doesn’t have that, where the main character is largely headcannoned as aroace, is huge. Genuinely makes me want to cry with happiness.

End of the Gridline Part 2 of 2

Part 1

So little of this is going to make sense if you don't know Tron but I've come too far and put in too much effert to not post this. You can even tell I gave up on some of these pictures. I dug my grave and I'm lying in it, gosh darn it.

Quick panel explanations below the cut for anyone curious:

Panel 2: "Heavy" disc mods are the equivalent of maces. The advert says "Disc Mods, the Elusive New Game Changer in Combat"

Panel 3: Flame an Mane goofing off

Panel 4: Fighting a Toxic Civ member

Panel 5: Flame and Mane being Repurposed to serve the Prince Zam Empire. That's Zam's back we're seeing.

Panel 6: Flame as a diamond Invis Mafia member, complete with my take on an old 80's style Tron grid suit. This was honestly one of the most fun things to draw out of everything here even if the helmet looks dorky. Tron fans should campaign to bring back the old circuit suits.

Panel 7: The big fight with Lomedy.

Panel 8: Derezzing Programs. No bodies are left behind. Just voxel cubes.

Panel 9: Hey look that's a lot of dead program cubes...

Panel 10: Flame vs. Wemmbu. I'll make Character Ref art someday

Panel 11: The little polyhedron Flame and Lomedy are looking at is a bit! Binary code. Here it's meant to represent Ashen, since bits are the closest thing Tron has to pets/animals.

Panel 12: Left to Right -> Parrot -> Theo -> Lettuce -> Eggchan -> Wemmbu -> Flame. This is after everyone voted on whether or not to kill Lettuce at the end of the King's Arc war.

wondering what uu!loppezz is up to now, with the whole civil war going on...

I wish I knew……. My theory is she is just doing her own thing, exploring around the server helping out anybody who comes to her, she found that the lifestyle she adopted at the law wasn’t suited for her esp after her catastrophic failure keeping in the prisoners and then lettuces evil deeds finally being realised. It seems she’s in a constant state of searching for closure taht most likely doesn’t exist. There is no happy ending for loppy. Her friends are locked up, people she trusts are merely concepts and Wemmbu… after her time at the law base keeping him there, she chose to let him run, not for any lack of trying but in the midst of his escape she has two options.

Chase him forever viewing him as a villain.

Or

Let him go knowing he is as broken as her.

Two different ends of the spectrum. Chaos and combat, brute strength and a resolve unrivalled by anyone, destruction follows wherever he step.

Vs

Peace prosperity, kindesss and a willingness to do whatever she can to stay alive. But yet despite it destruction always comes.

Both of them have flaws but that’s what makes them so similar.

She wasn’t even involved in the law collapse yet as a member of it watched it all crumble. I think she’s numb to this feeling now. Every world she creates for herself is doomed one way or another.

Where she is now is up to her. She’s free and can do whatever she wants, she wants to learn to give and to help others so they don’t meet the same fate as her.
