Offer to pick up prescriptions, give rides, or shovel their driveway. If you know them well, bring them a treat that you know they'll enjoy. Or just ask them how they're doing and let them know you are there to support.

Find an official protestย or other event viaย Indivisible,ย 50501,ย FREE AMERICA, orย MIRAC. Students at many high schools areย staging walk-outs; if your local school is doing this, reach out to school leadership or the PTA and ask how you can support as a community member.
Join the effort to stop Hilton from housing ICEย by booking hotel rooms and then cancelling at the last minute. This action can be done from home! The effort is being organized by Sunrise Movement, who are telling activists to target specific hotels one-by-one. More info:ย SHUT DOWN HILTON
Find people in your area who are actively monitoring ICEย and/or stationing themselves in high-traffic areas and ask how you can help. Check for local FB events where people are organizing and just show up.
At minimum, read theย COPAL Handbookย before you go out to observe.ย The DFL, Monarca, and other orgs have been hosting online trainings for constitutional observers (though these fill up quickly).
When you see ICE in action, start recording. Be as loud and as disruptive as possible: honk your horn, set off your car alarm, blow your whistle. Let people know that ICE is in the area. If you see someone being detained, try to get their name and a phone number to call their emergency contact.
If you do not feel comfortable observing ICE in person, there are ways you can support from home. Just ask the people who are organizing in your area. I have social anxiety, and I had never participated in any kind of political action before this past Saturday. If I can do it, you can!
Local organizers are requesting that people who help monitor ICE DO NOT participate in 1-to-1 mutual aid efforts, as these can put the families you are helping at risk.
If you have friends/acquaintances who are sympathetic but not politically active,ย reach out to them. Show them that they're not alone in feeling helpless. Pick a few low-commitment actions from this list and do them together.
The US Senate is voting this coming week(?) on an appropriations bill that would maintain ICEโs current funding through FY2026. I called my senators to remind them to oppose that bill and any that doesnโt defund ICE. One of them was hard to contact, so hereโs how I did it:
I started at 5calls.org, the easiest way to find information on important political issues, phone numbers for the relevant elected officials, and scripts that help you plan what to say. Specifically, I was calling about this one.
I prefer calling after hours so I donโt have to talk to a person (but make sure you provide your address or your call might not be tallied). None of this senatorโs five listed phone numbers let me leave a voicemail, but two referred me to a contact form on the senate.gov website.
The contact form did not let me send the email. It might have been a mobile issue, but the โsendโ button just wouldnโt button. Canโt call, canโt email.
So I looked up the senatorโs fax number. Not every official has one, but many do. And I used faxzero.com to send my message as a fax. With this site, you can send five faxes a day for free. You do have to click an emailed confirmation link before it will actually send, though.
I also added a sentence to the fax, thanking the senator for accepting faxes because I couldnโt get through with phone or email.
I encourage anyone who cares enough to call, to follow similar steps to make sure your message gets through. You can even do all three whether they work or not.

In case more evidence was needed that the US government and ICE is completely evil. Yesterday they kidnapped a preschooler and took him across state lines, and now they're sending fake fliers around offering food support to bait people.
