“Makes sense.” she replied, taking his word for what is was instead of pressing further. She took another big bite of her pastry, one that felt much too large when there were eyes on her. When he mentioned the color that was undoubtedly washing over her cheeks, she swallowed hard. They were merely strangers, she didn’t even know his name, but she had come to the conclusion that shyness wasn’t a virtue of his. “I’m not blushing.” she insisted, wrinkling her nose - a tell she was unaware she had until Winn and Alex pointed it out. “It’s just warm in here.” she said, looking around as if to see if the air conditioner was turned off. “Don’t you find it warm?”
Just as the words left her lips, there was a loud crash. One that seemed to be coming from right outside Noonans, Kara didn’t need to use her x-ray vision to recognize two cars colliding. “Excuse me” she said, quickly, hopping off of her seat and heading towards the back door. She figured she could ditch her clothes in the back alley way.
He just shook his head, “You’re a bad liar you know that?” It wasn’t warm at all, in fact it was quite comfortable and cool, though he had to admit, it was extremely cute to see her try and backpedal, moreso to watch her try and explain things.
“Hm? Worried about the accident?” Well that escape was transparent, but he didn’t stop her. No there was no fun in that, instead he shifted and stood, moving out the door and simply watching, waiting for her to return, he knew very well what she was going to do. helped that he had knowledge that he really shouldn’t, knowledge from multiple timelines. Still seeing her in action would be interesting.
