Let it be known that yesterday, February 25th 2018, at the age of 28 years 7 months and 4 days, I learnt the triple toeloop
At some point during my lesson, I started completing the rotation and then... I suddenly did my first 3T and it was so good and easy and flowy that it almost felt like a double. I did 2 of them and then proceded to try the other triples: all of them except the lutz are just a tiiiiiiiiny bit away from completion. I tried the 3T again 2 times after trying the other jumps and I did it again! On the other hand the 2A still eludes me... Iām getting a bit frustrated! And yet I am so hyped I couldnāt sleep yesterday night - I did sleep in a bit this morning, though!!

Hello followers! You are as lovely as ever!! And Iām as lazy as ever, whoops! Iām here again with a text-only post.
Iāve been skating with a coach for a while now and yesterday I went to the big rink, alone for the first time in at least a month. It was a bit lonely, but skating in a full sized rink is super relaxing (it would have been better without all the crowd but oh well...)
Iām also super excited to be trying triple jumps! I trained both toeloop and flip, that I find the easiest to sneak in through the crowd. I really want some space to try the loop too because I feel it, damn! Anyway I managed to save one toeloop and one flip attempt, landing forward but with a three turn on one foot, so Iām very satisfied.
A bit more underwhelming where the 2A attempts because, with so many people at the rink, it felt even smalled than the small rink where I trained in the last weeks. (Also why do I land the 2A forward if I also land forward the triples!?! I do have that rotation cāmon!!!!)
Iāll do my best to produce an illustration for my next post, maybe something about Euros? Weāll see...

I'm not dead, surprise!
I'm actually more alive than ever, skatingly speaking. There have been many changes but everything is going very well: I met a coach a few months ago and I'm now training seriously, albeit not very often; I changed rinks (for now) and I'm skating in a temporary rink 20x20meters (outside!! With no roof!!! Like when I started skating 23 years ago!!!!); I also changed my blades, from an old Italian blade very badly sharpened to a sparkling new John Wilson gold seal: I now have edges and my speed almost doubled!
Just yesterday I almost completed a double Axel. I can hardly believe it.
My coach says that I'm like Po from Kung Fu Panda... When I focus on kung fu skating, when I concentrate... I stink.
Not that I will ever do the splits so well...
By the way, two weeks ago I skated in front of an audience for the first time in like 15 years! I did a piece onĀ āMurder, she wroteā and one on āThe Plaza of the executionā fromĀ āThe mask of Zorroā. The mask of Zorro was my competitive program when I was 11y.o. (do you remember this post?) and I liked the music a lot so I used it again... and I also used that same dress!!!
One of my friends filmed my exhibitions and I wanted to drop the bomb and surprise you with the videos before writing anything, but he still hasnāt given them to me so I donāt even know if the pieces came out well :/Ā I hope you liked this text post, while I try to get the videos...

Sheās the grandma of single figure skating (sheās 30. Thirty. THIRTY!!), but sheās far from giving up!Ā Her skating skills and PCS in general are sublime as always (maybe a lil slower than she used to be?), and instead her technical content is waning... it seems she canāt do 3-3 combinations nor the 3Lz any more. And yet itās still early in the season, so who knows?Ā

Pop! Iām back!
Itās been a mighty difficult summer, incredibly busy and hot... but from the beginning of September the temperature fell almost 10°C in a single swoop and I became solid again.
For now, I have no idea whatsoever how my ice time will be this season, it will take some more time to even know when my rink will open :(
But! I am so pumped about Olympic season!! I will try to follow not only the ladies, but all the Italian skaters who compete internationally at junior and senior level. I will (try to) make a post for each skater (or couple) and reblog it with updates during the season. In addition I will also (try to) keep giving reports and unwanted opinions on ladies senior level competitions, even if there arenāt any Italians.
But thatās something to worry about later, since this week most of senior team Italy is at Lombardia Trophy! What a start @.@

My report for week 2 will be extra quick: I jogged once, did my exercises once and then freaked our because of a job interview.
Week 3 went better. Iām still freaked out because of that job interview and because another one more, but this time I managed to keep myself on track anyway. I even upped my game: I added some repetitions to most of my exercises (the abs are the ones giving me more problems:
so I decided to do more series with less repetitions to get used to moving them) and I also lengthened my jogging route every day.
For my jog I also started to use Google Fit so I have a more detailed report (for tuesday, thursday, sunday with the bf):
time: 16:38, 19:02, 30:08
distance: 2.34km, Ā 2.8km, 3,7km
steps: 2662, 3142, 4107
mean speed: 7:07/km or 8.5km/h, 6:45/km or 9.2km/h, 8:10/km or 7.3km/h
I also did all my stretching session after training, and while it hurst a bit to stretch the muscle, the worst part was staying in positions where ribs, knees or the back of the foot touched the floor (even with a yoga mat).
My first off season training week has ended so Iāll share a little report.
Thursday was jogging day and I discovered how not to die: firstly by going slower (and I lengthened the route a bit to compensate) and secondly by focusing on my breathing. As I already said, I forget how to breathe when I run... so I tried to really concentrate on inhaling through my nose and exhaling through my mouth at regular, not rushed intervals. It was unsurprisingly hard, and at the slightest distraction I started to pant ridiculously :D
Friday was strength training day and all went very smooth with the exception of abs again. The point is that the exercise I choose seems really nice, but I canāt actually do it: the yoga ball is too big and Iām also probably doing something wrong...
Saturday should have been jog day, but I forgot :/
Yesterday was strength day again and this time I forgot the yoga ball and stuck my feet between the sofa cushions instead. Much better!
All considered Iām satisfied, but I really shouldnāt skip training because I forget about it, itās like the stupidest reason ever. My goal for this week (since itās a bit too soon to talk about weight loss) is not forgetting to train and maybe try some positions to put my stretching to skating related use, maybe the biellman or even just the splits will do.
i just remembered that i had a dream last night that the ISU banned including five or more quads in a single program and I kind of understood the logic in the dream but Nathan Chen was pretty much going to fight every official in the ISU in a Dunkinā Donuts parking lot at 3am and I was so there to rub his shoulders and tell him to go getĀ āem, tiger
