Shoto moved to let Kirishima onto the bed but quickly clung to his side, ignoring his splinted arm and aching side in favor of being held and comforted. Hearing that his fiance wanted to take him home comforted him a bit, but he still cried.
Not gonna leave you alone again
That was a comfort. Kirishima would be with him until he went back to UA. Back home with their friends, and their pets. Where he felt safe. “O-Okay,” he whimpered, rubbing roughly at his eyes, “I-I missed you. I love you.”
It took a few minutes for Shoto to calm down. Thankfully having Kirishima hold him, and having the others heartbeat in his ear, helped. Once he was calm, he had one request: “Baby shark? Can we watch funny videos on your phone?”
As much as he’d hoped being with Shoto like this would help…really, the sick feeling, like molten lead in his stomach still bored deep. The painful, almost suffocating worry still grasped at his lungs, even with the steadier breaths he took now. Shoto was here. Shoto was here, safer, Shoto was right here with him, so why didn’t he feel any better?
God, why didn’t he learn his damn lesson already? Whenever he wasn’t there, people he cared about got hurt. How many more times did Shoto have to suffer before he drove that lesson right in? Being there for him as much as he could was only so much. How could he make sure Shoto wouldn’t end up hurt again?
Did he have to make the consequences damn clear to anyone who would dare try? He was more than willing do it. He would do anything to make sure Shoto was okay, was happy–dammit, he hadn’t been doing nearly enough–
“Ah?” Kirishima blinked, mouth opening and closing, once, twice. “Funny…videos–?” He shook his head, managing a laugh. “Aha, sure! I…oh!” He hesitated a moment, before slowly moving an arm to grab for his phone, bringing it back closer to Shoto fast. “I got–I-I got this super cute penguin one, wanna see? I can also pull up cat ones, too-”
