The Day Of The Underground

The complex individuals born on November 11 often present a bright, even cheerful appearance which belies their depth as well as their turbulent, troubled and secretive natures. Powerful in controlling their environment, those born on this day stake their possessive claim on whatever people, material objects or activities are important to them. Their contact with their dark side paradoxically fuels their humour and gives them what it takes to generate a sense of fun (as is true with most good comics). Those born on this day are natural family people, protectors of the roost and providers who like nothing better than to position themselves right at the center of a family occasion or outing. Usually they have a talent for organization that lends structure to any professional organization or social group in which they find themselves.

November 11 people are physically magnetic and know full well how to make use of their attractive powers. However, the flip side of their magnetic nature is seen in their falling under the spell of other magical figures. Both men and women born on this day generally have a well developed masculine-feminine balance in their personalities. For this reason they usually make friends equally well with both sexes. However, November 11 men must be careful of their macho tendencies and November 1 1 women of being alternately over-controlling and over-controlled.

Those born on this day are able to voice their opinions in a most seductively convincing manner. They instinctively know how to get their way, sometimes alternating between aggressive and passive tactics with telling effect. They are also able to rein in their energies, to sit and to wait.

Unfortunately, waiting may mean procrastinating for November 11 people when pressing decisions need to be made. They also have a marked tendency to brood, which can lead to inaction and depression. However, when those same November 11 people feel a sense of overall purpose, they can handle temporary setbacks and disappointments and their temper rarely rears its head.

Vigorous exercise is here recommended, for example: aerobics, dancing, running and gymnastics, but competitive sports may not be a good idea. Curbing desires for coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and all stimulants is important as those born on this day seem to gravitate to them.

so @caiternate and i saw the literary references & abundant poetry in harrow the ninth and thought “you could make a commentary out of that”

this is a short guide to the quotes and references throughout the book, and a slightly longer guide to the mechanics of the original poetry, in case you want to be spared constantly looking things up while reading. memes not included; you’re on your own for those. where the line between a meme and a more serious reference is blurred, we leaned towards counting it as a serious reference.

this is not a literary analysis; it’s more of a reference sheet.

Putting a coat on the back of a chair by the door is fine, but if you prefer, use coat hooks and a large catch-all basket for dropping keys, hats, gloves.

Small bookcase end-table next to the couch to store craft projects, books, and other things being worked on for easy access.

Add a storage unit near the dining room table to transition between eating and working there.

Daily toiletry items should be stored in a basket that you can move easily

Extra toiletries and medicine cabinet items go in open shelf/basket storage so they can be seen and used easily. If items no longer fit, purge the excess. Don’t obscure the view!

If you disrobe in the bathroom, place a tall hamper in there.

Keep a set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom

a long time ago i made a guide to keys in Gideon the Ninth. i said i’d do some more Locked Tomb notes in the future, so i’m back to do that! these posts are pretty much my personal notes taken during my last reread, perfectly prone to errors, so feel free to add on if you spot any inconsistencies. also, the citations are specifically for the american paperback versions of the books. and i haven’t put much from nona in this list yet; mostly this one focuses on Harrow the Ninth info.

GOS2 Spoilers Masterpost (ONLY EP. 1-2)

alright, you read the title, you know what's under here - gonna tag everyone who helped this if I know them, thanks to everyone for their contribution and for being agents of chaos the way satan intended. love you all

"Episode 2 is half present day things [...], and half the Job story/flashback. Crowley is the demon sent by Satan to torment "God's favorite human" Job to see if Job will curse God, in one big bet between God and Satan. Aziraphale comes to try to stop him, discovers they recognize each other but haven't seen each other since "the flood" and that Crowley seems to have changed since the flood, because he is willing to sacrifice the goats, and ruin Job's house. Crowley says he "has a permit" to torment Job FROM GOD. Aziraphale brings this up to the archangels that gleefully explain that yes it's a bet with Satan and that Job will suffer, but he will get everything back 3-fold by the end. And he will get NEW children. This disturbs Aziraphale, he does not want the CURRENT children to die, he understands the familial love that the archangels do not. He goes to stop Crowley not with power since he has the permit but to reason with him. Aziraphale says things to the effect "I KNOW you don't want to harm them I KNOW you and you don't want to kill children" and Crowley is defiant, but then…. It is revealed that he never killed any of the goats either, he transformed them into pigeons to hide them. And he is hiding the children away in the basement but destroying the house to make it look like they died. He transforms the three kids into lizards to hide them, then when the Archangels descend to give Job his rewards and tell him his wife will bear 7 new children, Job and his wife are in despair because they love their children. Crowley comes in pretending to be a human doctor and he and Aziraphale LIE to the angels faces about how babies are made and trick the angels into thinking Jobs three original children are NEWLY BORN children. Which fools Gabriel, who has only ever seen God make Eve fully grown from Adam's ribs. Crowley then meets Aziraphale at the rock. Aziraphale is crying and says "im ready for you to take me to hell" because he has LIED to angels and foiled God's plans. Crowley is gentle and comforts him that he is still an angel and "I won't tell anyone if you won't" and they reminisce that it's lonely being a different kind of demon and a different kind of angel that sort of do what they feel is right. Heavily implying that they are the same and have each other now. The end of episode 2.
