Hey everyone. Lately I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with my schedule and haven’t been able to stay as active as I’d like. Looking ahead my summer will be just as busy so I’ve come to the decision to thin out my blogs and that includes dropping Elsa from Citta. It’s a hard choice to make since I’m enjoying her threads and kept telling myself to hold on, but I don’t have the energy or muse for her right now and don’t want to keep people waiting on replies, nor do I want to hold on to such a beloved character only to have her be inactive. Thanks to everyone who’s threaded with her and I apologize for all the ones I didn’t get to! I may bring Elsa back someday, but for now I need a break.

                    That had definitely not been what she’d expected. But then again, between the accusations of a witch dwelling within the lair and the consequences of her spell, it wasn’t all that surprising.

What was had been the brutal swiftness with which the behemoth formulated launched an attack. Not an opportunity for communication or to announce her intentions for investigating before the icy fist swung.

        Steps backwards from apprehension put but a small distance between them. And then a dive to the side in order to evade the vicious swipe bearing down upon her.

In a heap on the glassy floor, she scrambled onto one knee, snatching one of her pistols from its holster and aimed it at the creature, firing a full three panicked shots. It might buy her only a few seconds to gather her bearings or prove ineffective - but nothing better came to mind.

The snow cushioned the shots as they disappeared into its body without leaving a trace. However, one of the bullets struck must have traveled deep enough to strike something within the creature for it roared in aggravation. Moving surprisingly fast for a monster of its stature, it lunged after the human again, this time slamming a fist down as if to crush her and her weapon whole. But as it threw its focus single-mindedly into eliminating the intruder, it had moved far enough away from the stairs to leave an opening to it. If she was fast enough.

Elsa tensed as the doors creaked open, almost expecting a wave of soldiers to come trampling in, cracking the ice under their boots as they raised their arms to her. Instead, it was a familiar figure who stood there, confirming that her stay in the city was no dream at all. “Is that you...Queen?” 

She remembered everything Queen had shared with her, about her family and about controlling her powers. One glance at the twisted form her castle walls had taken was enough for Elsa to feel that she had let her down. “I couldn’t do it. I’m sorry...I’ve only made a mess of things.”

“Have you come to stop me?”

It was a guarded voice that greeted him and his companion as Elsa stepped out from the shadows of an oversized chamber, empty except for a lonely ice-cold throne. She couldn’t make sense of her transition from the city to this hauntingly familiar castle. Only one thing remained clear -- her powers were back in full force and try as she might she knew not how to quell the storm that raged outside that mirrored the one in her heart.

“Huh? What do you mean she isn’t a witch, wa? Isn’t all of this ice, snow and cold the fruit of magic, wa? If she can use magic, then she’s a witch, isn’t she, wa? It’s not like being a witch is a bad thing by itself, I’ve met both nice and mean witches before, wa.” Elsa does seem to have problems controlling her powers, though, judging from the examples Olaf is giving.

Satoko took a good look at the creature gurading the stairs. Based on the mound’s size, it’s fair to assume that this thing is big and dangerous. Even if it’s slow, Satoko doesn’t think it’s a good idea trusting too much at her speed and agility. Not to count that Olaf is certainly not nearly as athletic as her. Going up by the stairs was out of consideration.

Good thing Satoko thought of an alternative route, as evidenced by the grin in her face. She seached her bag for another thing the citizens kindly provided her: a rope with a hook! You can see where this is going, right?

“Ohohoho, who said I need to take the stairs, wa? If we just climb the castle from the outside, we should quickly reach a window that’ll allow us to get to the upper floor, wa. You managed to open the door without waking up the guardian, so you go back inside, open a window for me and signal me so I can go up., wa What about it, wa?”

“So you’re saying there are good witches and there are bad witches...?” Olaf mused slowly, letting the idea sink in. Elsa only ever thought of her magic as bad, and when the villagers whispered the word witch, he was pretty sure they meant the bad kind. But what this young girl was saying was something different.

 “You’re right...!” If he had a heart, it would have pounded with joy at this revelation. “Being a witch isn’t a bad thing! Having magic isn’t a bad thing! After all, Elsa’s magic created me, see?” He waved his stick fingers for emphasis. Her words were something Olaf was sure Elsa needed to hear, now the next step was to get her to Elsa. When the girl pulled out a rope with a hook, Olaf was so ecstatic he could have hugged her!

“Brilliant! You are one brilliant young lady!” He clamped his hands over his mouth again and shushed himself. Taking the rope, Olaf scrambled inside. After some time, one of the upper windows to the castle creaked open and a head could be seen peeking out. “Olaf to the young ice climber, Olaf to the young ice climber. Are you still there?” Securing one end of the rope to an ice pillar, he dropped the other end down to her.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Those were the first words spoken from trembling lips as the final door opened to a spacious room too large for a single throne and the lone figure who stood before it. “Please. Go back home, where it’s safe.” 

Home...that was when Elsa realized that the child’s appearance didn’t resemble that of her people. That, and the quiet expression on the girl’s face was familiar. Hadn’t she... met her on a snowy day, some time ago? 

“Are you from the city?” Elsa’s eyes widened as realization dawned on her, that perhaps it wasn’t that the girl didn’t want to return, but that the one trapping her here was... “Is all this my doing?”

Since pt.1 of the event is over, I thought why not advance to pt. 2 of Elsa’s RAM event as well? I’ve kept Elsa hidden away but I’m excited to have your muses meet her. Just hit like for a pt.2 RAM starter. For people who are journeying through the castle, we can either continue our current thread or fast forward ahead, I’ll check in to ask for your preference. Otherwise we can assume that your muse has made it to Elsa and anything revealed about Elsa in the movie is fair game for you to have found out. If you haven’t seen Frozen and want more background, I can talk more in detail. If you have other ideas, I’m open to plotting!

What I’m thinking is that along the way your muse passed through “memory” doors that revealed her secrets. There are two kinds, and you could have traveled through one set of doors or a mix:

The cracked ice doors: These doors look as if they’ve been broken through once before and they portray Elsa as a wicked witch. You’ll find grotesque lifelike statues of frozen citizens in these rooms and hear their cries and suspicions: “Sorcery! I knew there was something dubious going on here”, “Why do you shut me out? Why do you shut the world out?”, “The queen didn’t attend her parents’ funeral, how cold...” etc. . I thought of this path mainly for those who want their muse to mistakenly believe Elsa really cursed the land and want the twist to be at the end.

The pristine ice doors: Like the front door, these are really hard to open. But they open to reveal Elsa’s struggle with her powers. A child’s bedroom, a ballroom, a practice room, all frozen over, “Born with the powers or cursed?” “Born, and they’re getting stronger”, “She can learn control it, I’m sure. Until then, we’ll lock the gates. We’ll reduce the staff, limit her contact with people, and keep her powers hidden...”, “Don’t touch me! I don’t want to hurt you,”, “Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let it show,” and so on. 

If your character met Olaf: He’ll appear to muses who’ve run into a tight spot. Feel free to assume Olaf blabbed about Elsa and answered questions openly. This Olaf isn’t quite the same as movie Olaf. He represents Elsa’s desire to be found and he’s more aware of Elsa’s inner feelings. 

If you’re into action-y stuff, feel free to assume there were monsters / snow pits / falling icicles... Elsa would feel doubly guilty if she hurt anyone, or if your muse acted particularly mercilessly slaying the creatures, she’d subconsciously note that too and feel uneasy. (Though I think we’ve got a good crowd here!)

Snow swirled around her and her braid whipped free in the fierce wind as Elsa hurried forward as fast as each sunken step would allow. The snarl of wolves could be heard in the distance, creatures conjured by the same unknown entity that had called forth a snowstorm to bury half the city. 

The unexpected weather did little to lift the anxious thoughts that plagued her, almost serving as a cruel reminder of her failure back home. But in the storm’s wake Elsa had fared better than the other city inhabitants, and even braved her fear to try and reverse its effects. She’d managed to keep her calm long enough to unbury a door and defrost some water for a grateful family, and it was in these simple gestures that she could see a little good in her powers and in herself. The cold wrapped around her like a familiar blanket and Elsa felt no chill, only the wind on her back --under normal circumstances, that was. 

That was why she knew there was something unnatural about this chill. 

It seeped into her bones, causing her to shiver just slightly. For the first time, the cold was a physical, visceral sensation. Someone with magic greater than hers and far crueler intentions was in charge of this storm and the wolves on her heels. 

“You mustn’t go that way!” Through the flurries she could make out the figure of a man headed in the opposite direction. Elsa began to trudge towards him, calling out in warning. “There are beasts coming.”

Irony struck her at the very element which plagued the citizens of the frozen land, and her own possession of the seeds in ice magic. If one of the guys who leaned towards fire as their elemental signature were in her place, it would be far more favourable for the unfortunate clustered around campfires.

Fighting ice with ice - and advanced with budding - sounded quite unreasonable.

But for whatever reason, she had landed herself in this realm, for a reason, probably.             It didn’t have to be an elemental battle waged.

So she dared.

Ill-equipped for the blustery and winter-y environment, Misaki had dared to venture on; searching for the fabled structure nestled somewhere safe and far from society. And it’s door proved the next trial. Shoves and even kicks with the heavy-duty boots she wore had no impact.

But repeatedly, the swing came.

Whether by force, or the magic which transformed the kingdom into a frozen wasteland, the doors relented and offered entrance.

         Three breaths to debate how to go about infiltrating and she hurried in. Away from the falling flakes, into at least shelter. There was great majesty in the craftsmanship of the lair. But also it housed the woman stated to be a wicked witch. Her guard raised, and guns stashed where needed, she walked forward. Into the queen’s chosen castle.

The closed door reflected the lock on Elsa’s heart, every part of it screaming for the stranger to stay back. But the stranger had persisted, and now her magic took on physical form as a snow creature stepped forward to greet the intruder, every icicle on its body sharpened to create a most unfriendly-looking beast.

It was a battle that Elsa didn’t want to wage, but at the same time she feared others getting too close. That fear built such a monster, who guarded the stairs in the entrance hall with its bulky form, and by extent, all the secrets that lay inside. Letting out a roar, the beast flexed its joints and started towards the human, not hesitating to sweep its claws down on her.

“Magic?” Queen wondered if she could open the door and reached for the handle not sure if it would. But she had to see what this was all about.

The handle was, unsurprisingly, cold to the touch. As if both rusted and frozen shut, the handle did not turn easily, but with some effort it finally relented. But as it gave out, so did the children’s voices. The playful sounds of laughter died out to reveal a child’s bedroom - frozen over. A bed with stiff, bunched up sheets. Shelves of books and toys too neatly arranged. A desk and mirror, both glistening blue, and in the air new voices could be heard.

“Elsa, what have you done?”

“It was an accident! I’m sorry, Anna.”

“She’s ice cold!”

It isn’t as though she has much of a choice.

Whatever’s happening to Hive City, Sybil’s going to put an end to it. She knows that she’s already brought one city to ruin, and watching another collapse just wouldn’t do. And if she has to venture into this starkly beautiful palace to fulfill her goal? Then she will.

She draws her coat closer around herself; a far cry from the light, airy clothing she usually prefers to wear. Gazing up at the castle, she can’t help but be reminded of an old friend, and how he would have loved to have seen such a feat of architecture, with its sweeping curves and pointed spires. She’s given up on seeing him again, but she can afford to indulge herself in the memory, if only for a second.

Gritting her teeth, Sybil throws all her weight into pushing the door open, and it swings inward to reveal an icy interior.

She steps inside.

Like an invisible alarm had sounded, the stranger’s forcible entry alerted the guardian of the castle and the snow creature slowly rose to its feet. It stood in front of a flight of stairs, its bulky form blocking the path and its head swiveling and fixing itself on the human. Whether she was a citizen of Arendelle or a foreigner from some faraway land, it made no difference to the beast. All it knew was that the intruder must be removed, the queen’s realm protected from prying eyes for it hid too many secrets. It let out a roar, a warning cry.

Go back.

If she didn’t heed its warning, it would begin to advance on her, claws raised and sharp as icicles.

Despite her now very fitting to cold weather clothing, Satoko felt a chill running through her every time a howl of wind hit her. For a moment, she wondered if this was a sign that she wouldn’t be welcomed… but then, the door began to move. She stepped back so that the door wouldn’t hit her and was greeted by…

….A talking snowman?!

It somehow still makes her head scratch, despite everything she’s lived and is living in Hive City up until now. To be honest, though, she’s far quicker to admit that this thing is real than she’d have been at the beginning of her city stay. This is a witch’s territory, isn’t it? This snowman must simply be one of her servants - what was the term Beatrice and EVA use, ‘furniture’?

She gave a quick look at the thing Olaf was pointing at, then turned back to her current conversation partner. She couldn’t identify what that thing is, but it’s probably a good idea to trust the snowman’s observation. Speak in a low tone, she can do that.

“Er… yes, yes! Erusa-san is the Frozen Witch’s name, right, wa?” At least it seemed that Satoko wouldn’t hve difficulty meeting the person she wants. “Yes, I’ve come to see her, wa. I’ve… brought muffins, wa?” She saved some of the food the citizens gave her to share with Elsa. That’d probably increase her chances of being heard.

“Muffins! Oohhh I like muffins!” One would wonder whether a snowman really knew what muffins tasted like. Either way, Olaf sounded positively moved to hear that the stranger had not only come to see Elsa, she had even brought her a gift! Maybe this way, Elsa wouldn’t feel so lonely anymore.

“Elsa, that’s her! But she isn’t a witch. I know she didn’t mean to start a snowstorm in the middle of summer, or hurt her sister who came to stop her, or freeze the land to death .... gosh that sounds bad, doesn’t it? That’s why we gotta get to her!” Olaf flailed his arms, trying only to explain that it wasn’t Elsa’s intention to cause the people suffering, and yet was doing a poor job of conveying his meaning. 

”Only thing is...to see her we gotta sneak past the guard to get up those stairs.” Olaf’s voice was hushed again as he snuck a peek inside. Upon closer inspection, the mound of snow moved up and down with each rumbling breath, as if the snow creature was snoring in its sleep. “You got any ideas?”

Queen walked up the stairs and noticed the different paths. Pausing as she heard the voices she walked up to the pristine door curiously pressing herself up against it but not entering wanting to find out what was being spoken about. Intel was always importaint on a mission.

Sealed behind the door were Elsa’s memories, and children’s voices could be heard from the other side. Muffled behind the thick layer of ice, it sounded like two girls, giggling. One excitable cry was loud enough to be audible. “...the magic! Do the magic!”

Once the beast was felled Queen sheathed her sword. “Now where do I go..” She looked around and saw a path behind the monster and decided to keep walking now that the way opened. Gazing at the snow creature one last time she continued onward looking for this so called ice witch.

The path wound up a flight of stairs and there the path branched into two, leading to a different set of doors. On the right, a door with visible cracks in the ice, that looked as if entry had been forced through before. To the left, a pristine door, the ice glittering and untouched. Distant voices could be heard just beyond both doors.

She watched the snow swirl around and the monster uncurl. It looked more dangerous that the monsters she’d faced before, but she didn’t seem scared in the slightest. It didn’t attack her right when it turned, making her wonder if maybe it didn’t really intend to attack her. Was it just scaring her?

…She had a lighter in her pocket. It was a snow monster. If it did want to attack her, she could stop it, even if she didn’t want to. She shuddered at the thought of having to hurt someone, even a giant snow monster.

She looked back up at it and started walking forward. She wasn’t scared. It could roar at her all it wanted. As long as it didn’t attack, it wasn’t scary. She got right up to it, craning her neck to look at it. “…Going to…Hurt me?” She got ready to move, just in case it did want to.

A tense moment passed as the beast stared her down. The intruder was small, but she was approaching, and the magic within it spurred its limbs to move and defend the grounds. The beast raised its claws to sweep her back, and that was when a shout echoed through the chamber.

“Pick on somebody your own size, youuuu oversized ball of sleet!” As if staging a heroic rescue, a snowman...even shorter than the girl...ran towards the creature as fast as its pudgy feet could take him. He chucked a snowball which flew in an arc and...landed harmlessly against the creature.

Distracted, the monster’s head swiveled to the new intruder, smashing a fist into the ground and sending a tremor of fractured ice that knocked the charging snowman off his feet. Alas, it looked like our little hero was in need of some help himself.

Queen was surprised things had ended up working however this beast was persistant. She realized it was determined to protect something or someone. “So persistant. Admirable but..” She rushed again slashing with her fast whirlwind like slashes. “But I will take you down..”

Against the onslaught of attacks, the monster fought a hard battle but eventually fell. Snow flaked off its body as it crashed to the floor. It struggled to stand, but collapsed again. Its roar was quieter now, maybe even pained. Its eyes fixed on the intruder, the creature was still alive, but no longer did it pose a threat.

The cold that greeted Satoko when she entered ‘Arendelle’ was nothing new to her. After having spent the previous hours under the Permafreeze hallucination, the fact that at least there were coats for her to wear here was a welcome change to her.

Of course, she’d rather not to be feeling cold anymore. Or that these people had the medicine she seeks with them. But fair enough, who’d care about carrying medicine for an obscure disease when far more crucial resources like food and water are lacking?

From what they tell Satoko, the source of this cold is the Frozen Witch, who must be stopped for things to return to normal. Now, the girl is short of her usual traps tools not is she that good at close combat, but she has a good profile at befriending witches, so it might be worth a shot?

A while later and she’s standing at the ice castle’s entrance. Satoko muses if the snowflakes are to the Frozen Witch what the golden butterflies are to the Beatrices, but shushes it fast. She must focus on her mission. The faster Hive City stops being assaulted by the cold, the faster she’ll be able of safekeeping her sanity.

She doesn’t try forcing the door open, as it looks too heavy for her and it’d be too unfriendly an approach. Rather, she prefers knocking it lightly and calling the witch in a soft manner. “Helloooooo? Are you there, Witch-san? I’ve come in peace, wa.”

There was no reply from the castle. Only a deep silence that stretched across the snowy landscape, interrupted by the occasional howls of wind as the storm raged on. This was a world built within the queen’s mind, so a part of her had undoubtedly heard the girl’s greeting. It would appear like a cold rejection, except that…perhaps, not all of Elsa rejected her presence.

A grunting sound could be heard behind the door as it slowly inched open. Out came tumbling a snowman whose eyes lit up animatedly when he spotted the young girl. 

“I knew it! A visitor!” The snowman exclaimed loudly, and then clamped his stick-like arms over his mouth and added in a hush. 

“Oh, right. Gotta be quiet. Don’t want to wake fluffy over there.” He jabbed a stick arm to point to the giant mound of snow in the entrance hall that was a creature curled up in front of the stairs. 

“Did you come to see Elsa?” His voice was restrained excitement as he looked at her with wide, hopeful eyes. For he knew the queen had been locked up alone for a long time, and that had made him sad.
