Ive been VERY invested in twst lore especially after the whole nightmare before Christmas hlw event and it got nothin to do w it but i shall present my idea anyway (idk if like anyone thought of this but okay 😭😭) BARE WITH ME

WHAT IF Yuu is not actually like transmitted/ reincarnated into twisted wonderland but instead it is all just a dream? like an actually dream where when they wake up, Yuu is back in their original world and evrytime they go to asleep bam they are back to twst like nothing ever happened. When they sleep in the real world, the body in twst wake ups and so on, living a double life ?? But the more they spend time in twst (dealin w the blots, crowley bs, THE STRESS), the more their body and mind in the real world start dying. Eventually, they stop waking up to the real world, their body and mind are trapped inside twst forever

miya osamu has long accepted the fact that the girl he loves is a crybaby.

when he and atsumu met you as kids you were crying alone in the playground as your friends left one by one.

when you entered middle school with them you cried when you found out you were in separate classes.

when he gifted you a necklace he had worked hard for to buy you cried so hard you got snot all over his shoulder.

when you atsumu made you so mad you cried in his arms as he comforted you.

when you and atsumu left hyogo for tokyo, you cried begging him to call you everyday.

when you were feeling lonely in college you cried on the phone with him and cried when he finally found the time to visit.

you cry over the smallest inconveniences, anything that made you feel happy, had you feeling mad, excited, surprised, anything.

so it's no surprise to him that it's taking you so long to finish your vows because of crying so hard.

all formalities are forgotten as he pulls you in his arms, swaying you gently as you finish the last of your vows. family, friends, and guests are forgotten ones he cries with you as he reads his vows written on a tissue paper.

"I whole heartedly promise to love you, comfort you and cry with you even if death separates us and even in our next life. i'd love you now and forever and until the next life that i'll share with you."

Zenshu does what so many modern isekai are afraid to and actually tells a story whose goal is something other than setting up a vague status quo as a wish fulfillment fantasy/waifu delivery system. Instead it’s morphed into a meditation on our relationship to fiction, specifically the stories that influenced us growing up.

Natsuko naturally assumes that the reason she’s been isekaied into the world of the movie that inspired her to work in animation is to “fix” it and give everyone a happy ending, and for the first two thirds of the show, that’s exactly what she does, taking an axe to what she sees as tired tropes like the annoying mascot character heroically sacrificing themselves, or the hero’s love interest agreeing to an arranged marriage to save the city only to be hunted down by a mob when she and the hero are blamed for everything going wrong, or the weird part that the movie never explained where the stoic elf warrior disguises herself as a monster and gets killed by the hero.

And in response to this, the show turns into exactly the kind of lighthearted romantic comedy/wish fulfillment simulator that you’d expect from a modern isekai, where the biggest concern is whether Natsuko can treat Luke as a real enough person to even acknowledge his budding feelings for her, until one day, sitting in the sun on a perfect day with her new friends, she wonders: “Was A Tale of Perishing supposed to be this happy?”

And the answer she receives immediately, from the movie’s creator, is “Of course not.” Natsuko achieved what she assumed her mission to be, but while it makes for a fun upset of tropes that genuinely were pretty dated, it’s not a satisfying story. And then the story starts pushing back.

The original narrative reasserts itself, but twisted. A mascot character still dies, but it’s the robot instead of the unicorn. Destiny still agrees to the marriage, but to save the orphanage she built thanks to Natsuko’s previous intervention. The void cultists return, but heralding Natsuko as their messiah. Luke and his love interest are still pursued by a mob, but this time, Natsuko has been thrust into that role.

The voids begin to copy and integrate everything Natsuko had summoned to defeat them, meaning that the one weapon she had to change this story is what’s actively making it worse. In trying to “fix” what she saw as mistakes, a habit she already developed as a professional where she only trusted in her own vision and discounted the work of everyone else, she lost sight of what she learned from the story when she first encountered it.

The show’s refusal to let things stay static and comfortable is what keeps me coming back to it every week, and I’m really excited to see how it ends.

This is why twst will always be superior. They've basically unlocked unlimited possibilities for fashion design that are both tasteful and unique.

I honestly really like the way TWST represents fashion and femininity.

It's something that is very openly embraced, but never really commented on by other characters. Even the more masculine presenting characters wear glittery makeup and nice frilly clothes, simply because they look nice.

The only character that did have a problem with his femininity was taught that it was not a negative thing and a strength. Epel has come to accept parts of his femininity, but admittedly still struggles.

Many of the designs even take inspiration from major fashion brands. Riddles new outfit is a shining example of that, having strong influences by Vivienne Westwood. Vil is another example of that. His outfits often have design elements by Luis Vuitton. Makeup brands are referenced too in a lot of the new Birthday cards.

What I'm most thankful for is that this is not sexualised, which is something that unfortunately happens very with Amab people wearing feminine clothes, especially online. I could go on a while rant about this but I'll stop myself for now.

It's been a really long time since I've seen so many cool and creative designs for male characters and I'm really grateful.

Once we step out of traditional gender roles, character design becomes a lot more fun.

How it feels being a player of the niche game Twisted Wonderland, whose overall quality is stable, when you see players of mainstream games complaining about powercreep and shit storytelling and gooner fanservice

Because the gameplay and monetization practices are already dogshit from the beginning we don't really have expectations lmao. But the one thing we have against everyone is that the story actually has depth, has a message it wants to convey, and the cards are always beautiful except for a few odd ones. Every new release only fuels our love for the boys.

I'm the number one twst shill, but if you're even a bit critical of writing styles, you'd know it tops majority of the long-winded, pretentious storytelling word slop the other gacha games have lol.

Comparatively, twst is simple. Simple, but really gets its point across in the least amount of words possible while still keeping the execution engaging. Schools teach us KISS (keep it short and simple) for a reason lol.

Like what you said, there is a chance were reader might not come back after leaving twst.. after yuus dream was revealed (book 7) who will be the characters be in disbelief and guilt after what they done to reader like theyre so guilty they want to say sorry but its too late now.. also i want yuu to be slowly going insane and revealing their true colors to the nrc boys that Lowkey scares and creeps them out

Basically any character who had a hint out doubt before would feel terrible. Jack is a great example, he feels terrible when all his doubts are confirmed. He hates himself for contributing to readers isolation, and if reader were to ever return he would attempt to reconcile with them, even if he knows that it might not be possible.
