looking up, chenle catches your eyes instantly from across the room. he's waving at you, full of enthusiasm.

one thing about chenle is that he had a lot of friends. when you'd be studying in the university's library together, he says 'hello' to at least five people. so, you didn't know how many people you were going to be introduced to.
you take a deep breath and walk towards chenle, attempting to match his excitement with a soft smile.
"hi!" you shout over the loud music.

you recognise the voice before the face. stationed in your spot, the buzzling street of a few nights ago plays in your head. there's a whiny tone among the business, a small thread that captures your attention as you link the present with the past.
you step around.
lo and behold, it's him.
the guy you called an uber for the other day—the one who kissed your cheek before leaving.

he's looking at you, a small smile on his face.
you're too surprised to do anything about it.
"yeah, this is y/n. she's from my class. y/n, this is the annoying haechan."
chenle's words are barely registering in your head as you stare at haechan.
