What do you think are Chris's biggest weakness?

“He lets people walk all over him because he’s scared that if he stands up to them, they’re going to leave him. That’s his biggest weakness. Other than that, though, he’s just not great at being an adult, he can’t hold down a real job, things like that.”

“Chris deciding that he’s going to off himself over something stupid like Cory leaving, honestly.”

Are you disappointed in Cory?

“Yes. It bothers me that he didn’t at least talk to me before he left, so since he didn’t give me any information and still hasn’t spoken to me since coming back, I can’t say that I forgive him.”

Jude wasn’t sure how they’d gotten to this point in their conversation, but she wasn’t going to complain; being a women’s history professor, she had always been interested in the progression of women’s sexuality and openness. My children have different fathers, their children have different fathers - it’s not something that’s too big of a deal to me,” She took a drag from her cigarette, glancing over at the woman as she exhaled slowly. “Sex and love are art forms in their own ways, really, but they’re completely different things.”

“I’m not really surprised. I mean, we got along well enough but I can’t say that he’s not a fuckboy, ‘cause he is.”

Are you angry at Chris's father?

“I’ve always been angry at his father, Todd and I never got along when he was alive. Considering that he got my daughter pregnant when she was fourteen, I didn’t have much of a reason to get along with him. And he abused my grandchildren, which still doesn’t sit well with me even if the fucker is dead.”

What are your favorite and least favorite traits about Cory and Chris?

“I think that they’re cute and they’re pretty good parents. I’m proud of Chris because he’s come a long way - with how his parents were, I’m just glad that he hasn’t taken on the same parenting style. I also think that they both need to work on themselves, though. Bringing in a new baby to this distant, somewhat petty, situation won’t be good. I don’t know what they’re thinking of doing, but if either of them thinks that a baby will save their relationship, if it’s that bad, then they’re wrong and I know that from personal experience.”

Do you approve of Chris's relationships?

“Most of the time, no. I think Cory’s an alright guy, I approve of him, but every relationship Chris has had in the past has been a failure so I don’t know what to expect from this one.”

Would you rather be a hero or a monster?

“I don’t want to be a hero because that means people look up to you and I’d rather not have that. I’m not a good role model and I know that. I guess I’d prefer to be a monster, because that way I could still leave my mark on the world. Maybe even destroy this world before Trump gets a chance to. Wouldn’t that be something? Petty, sure, but it would feel pretty good to ruin his plans by being that much of a monster - a complete menace.”

is there anything you wish you could do over again?

“I wouldn’t do anything over again. If I did, I know that I’d make the same mistakes I made in the past because I don’t think I ever really learned from them, honestly. My life would be the same no matter what, and I’ve come to terms with that.”
