So he had been doing things whilst she was away! How wonderful. Touko wasn’t sure if he had been doing so, because she knew how her brother was. But she was so proud of him, and so glad that he’d managed to get himself out there and experience somewhere else like Kalos. Speaking of Kalos-
“You went to Kalos? Did you visit Professor Sycamore? Did you get to see the sundial? Aaaaaaaa!!! I’m so proud of you Touya!!”
Touko couldn’t contain her excitement and pride in her brother, so much so that she almost spilt her drink all over herself, but managed to catch it before it could spill anywhere.
Touya reached to grab the drink, but Touko already beat her to it. She was always one step ahead of him, and he admired her for that. He was glad she was proud of him, there was just so much more to explain. Maybe next time he’ll show her pictures. Or they could do that together now. ❛ I saw the sundial, but I didn’t get to see the Professor until sometime later. He was busy with a lot of things. ❜ It was a disappointment, as he looked forward to any Professor in general.
❛ Ooh, golden magikarp? I never got to see that, that’d be a whole new experience, ❜ he grinned. ❛ Maybe it’ll look like gold! ❜ he was just trying to be funny, as his expression shared his emotion, but he knew it was a terrible joke.
❛ Cool. I get to show you some neat Pokemon I got, ❜ he was excited. He had yet to show her his team that he worked so hard on. Touya looked down at his drink and took another sip. He was finally starting to wake up more.
❛ Maybe we should contact N sometime, too… ❜ he trailed off—should he not have brought that up? He just couldn’t get his mind off him lately.
pavback:
“The best I’ve got is a couple of berries.” Anzu tucked her hand inside her jacket, whipping out two Oran berries from the inner pocket. She knelt down to the pup’s side, offering them in the palm of her hand. Though weak and injured, the Growlithe accepted the berries, slowly the first one in small bites.
Poor thing…
Seeing the poor Growlithe in this condition caused her face to scowl slightly.
“Shit like this really pisses me off!” Anzu raised her voice, unable to contain herself from remaining calm. “What’s wrong with just using a damn Pokéball like everyone else?”
She knew very well that people didn’t go through these measures for the purpose of training Pokémon, but she didn’t give herself much time to think about what she was saying. She didn’t care if it made her look ignorant.
Touya was thankful that the other had some sort of healing product. Maybe they could search for more berries as they helped the Growlithe along. ❛ I wish I knew, ❜ he sighed, this was a stressful situation for both. He held onto his hat and thought for a moment.
❛ Being angry won’t help. We need to get this Growlithe to safety. Can you help me escort it back? ❜ he looked the Growlithe over and wondered if it could walk. That net did hurt it pretty badly… he wasn’t sure if it would want them to carry it.
❛ But it is late… we do need to find shelter, first… y-you should try to ask the Growlithe. You did feed it berries, after all. ❜ unless they wanted to work in the dark. He was a little worried for his flying type, as it hasn’t returned yet, but he was giving it a little longer. He looked the girl over, waiting to see what her answer was. He really didn’t want to see her get angry, not now. There was no reason for his anxiety to get the best of him over this.

Quentin shook off his wet lab coat, hoping it would dry out soon. He and Fermata had been caught in the rain that had just ended and now both were both soaking wet. Quentin didn’t mind the rain, he always thought it was fun to be in it. It was being wet for hours afterward he didn’t like, and he was starting to get a little grumpy about it. Using an old towel, he dried off his Lucario’s head, muttering to himself about his wet clothes, while his companion remained as indifferent as ever. Despite his mutterings and foul mood, something managed to catch his eye.
A single ducklett waddled down the path. Ducklett were a common sight in Unova, but one walking down a road by itself was slightly unusual. Quentin turned his head to watch as the small pokemon kept quacking as it continued on its way and out of sight.
“Well, that was adorable!” Quentin said, forgetting about his troubles from earlier. It was amazing how one simple thing could change someone’s mood so quickly. He silently gestured to his companion to continue walking. As soon as he turned around, he felt someone run straight into him. The impact dazed Quentin, knocking him back a bit, but he managed to stay upright. The other person wasn’t so lucky.
“I’m fine,” Quentin answered. “what about you? That looked like a nasty fall.” Quentin felt bad about knocking someone over. It was such an avoidable mistake, yet it happened anyway because he was distracted. He nodded and pointed in the direction he saw the pokemon walk down. "It went that way. Might’ve turned somewhere. I didn’t really see.”
“Did it belong to you? Do you need help finding it?” He asked, getting more and more concerned about what could happen to the lost pokemon.
Touya, also feeling a little dazed, stared at the ground a little longer. He didn’t reply right away—he was still trying to recall what he was doing before. The moment the other spoke about the Ducklett, however, snapped him out of it. He quickly scrambled to his feet, the puddle he was in splashing slightly, and looked himself over. He was okay, thankfully, minus being wet. After all that trouble he had from hiding under a tree as the rain from earlier was out… this was embarrassing...
❛ Y-yes, yes I need help! ❜ he spoke quickly, making it hard to understand which question he was answering to. His arms were flailing about, the water on his sleeve getting droplets everywhere. He calmed down not long after and made sure to step out of the puddle.
❛ That Ducklett doesn’t know where it’s going, ❜ he said with concern, more worried about the pokemon than drying off himself. It’ll dry eventually, right?
❛ Please… t-two hands are better than one. ❜ While he was a little anxious talking with the other, the pokemon was on his mind. He had a soft spot for any pokemon—in fact, the Lucario before them made him realize that this trainer was a good trainer. His immediately knew that he had positive intentions.

oooh, guess what, I get an entire two weeks off work. I’mma be roleplaying a lot more than usual. depending on how my activity is, I’ll take on more threads!
expect a wonderful unovian touya on the dash soon!
crowncut:
A SMILE DAWNS HIS EXPRESSION as touya muses of the lake’s ─ and, by extension, sinnoh’s ─ legends and myths. of COURSE someone like touya would have knowledge of such! n had debated whether he should choose another location but ultimately, sinnoh’s lakes were among his favorite due to their rich history. it filled him with joy that touya seemed to be interested, as well. or, at least, he knew SOME of the lake’s history. n had hoped this wouldn’t be too boring for the other trainer because part of him ─ possibly a stronger part than n even realizes ─ desired to impress touya and interest him. it seems to be working..?
❝you are correct, my friend! ❞ n exclaims, ❝ you see, sinnoh is home to many myths and legends that are absolutely fascinating. they surround the very creation of pokémon. the lake guardians are a mere fraction of sinnoh’s tale, but they are all amazing in their own ways. lake verity here is home to mesprit: bringer of emotion. it’s one of my personal favorites. ❞ he’s eager to expand on the information and nearly continues on before he tunes in to touya’s… frazzled state. ah ─ how could he be so foolish? it’s been a while since the two talked, and perhaps touya wasn’t as adjusted to flying far distances in such a short time… and he’d completely forgotten about setting up camp, too!
n stops himself from babbling on, for once, knowing he should be putting touya’s well - being before anything else. he takes a step towards his companion and offers a hand with concern blossoming over his features.
❝ touya, are you alright? ❞ he asks, ❝ i apologize. i forget a flight like that can be taxing on those who aren’t used to it. i should have asked you first, or taken things slower. ❞ he acknowledges, shoulders slouching in the slightest. he silently condemns himself for being so careless, when he only wanted to treat his dear friend to a simple camping trip to catch up…
ah, right. camp.
❝well, if the weather permits, i usually do not set up a tent… ❞ n admits, ❝ sleeping under the stars is a magnificent experience. i feel much more connected to nature and the pokémon that way. ❞ another explanation, but he tries to avoid too much of a tangent this time. ❝ but if you would feel more comfortable under a tent, i won’t oppose! ❞ he adds with a genuine smile. ❝we can start a small fire, too. we’ll need to gather some wood, but i don’t believe it will be much difficult around these parts. but if you’re still too tired from the flight, zorua and i can gather for us. ❞
Touya was in fact, interested in the lakes. The Sinnoh’s waters seemed much different than any other regions. Well, supposedly he could say that for all the regions, but the pokemon played a big part to them. ❛ Ah, Mesprit’s your favorite? ❜ he chimed in, happy to learn something new that N appreciated.
❛ I prefer Uxie: bringer of knowledge. I admire how intelligent such a pokemon can be, so much so that it’s labeled as the bringer of knowledge. I’m sure these three pokemon had worshippers at one point. ❜ The talk of the three mythical pokemon brought him at ease. He wanted to hear more of N’s insight. Truthfully, back in the day when he first found out about them, he preferred Azelf. Times sure have changed.
❛ Don’t worry, N. We still got here, I’m sure once I start moving, I’ll feel better. ❜ He gave the other a soft smile and made sure to hop off carefully when they fully landed. He didn’t want to slip up from being a little nauseated. They were here to seek an adventure together, after all…! ❛ We can keep talking about the legends. It’ll help. ❜ He reassured, wanting to continue where they left off with their conversation. It’d be a good walking topic. They had to search for a place to camp, after all. And wood, as discussed.
❛ I won’t worry about a tent if you’re not worried. My pokemon can help keep me warm, but Sinnoh isn’t super chilly to me. ❜ Unova was chillier. Definitely. He kept that thought in his head and continued, ❛ Lead the way, okay? I should be able to walk. ❜ he insisted. Surely, he could also lead the way, but he had the habit of getting lost rather easily. They’d probably disappear from the lake’s view.
❛ Unless you want Zorua to lead the way for us. ❜ Having a pokemon in the front wasn’t a bad idea, either. They did tend to find the most fascinating things.
ooc;
sorry for being a lil inactive lately.
I’ll try to pick up the pace again! Got a few replies to do. If anyone wants to plot with my Touya muse, hmu. can’t take threads right now unfortunately, but I’m cool with plotting!
ooc.
anyone want a starter on Touya? only capping at a small 2. might message for plotting!
@q-less
Up ahead, there were a line of Ducklett making their way to the water. He’s seen Ducklett before, in fact Touya himself has a Swanna, but never so many in a row! They were all adorable, in his eyes, and he really wanted to follow them, but it was wet. The weather had just cleared up, and there were puddles everywhere. Some were so clear that Touya could see his reflection in them. Sadly, there were no signs of a rainbow, but the roads were starting to get a little busy. He kept an eye on the Ducklett to make sure they don’t get hurt.
And sure enough, one got out of line. He went to go chase after it to help bring it back to its friends but running had betrayed him. There seemed to be another trainer that he overlooked, and unfortunately, he slipped and fell right in the puddle. He held onto his hat and groaned, if the puddle wasn’t below him he was certain his hand would’ve had a few scrapes…
Wait, the Ducklett- quickly, he scrambled back up onto his feet to look for it. Where did it go? He looked at the trainer that caught him off guard, were they also okay? ❛ Are you alright? Did you see where the Ducklett went to?? ❜ he asked, feeling his anxiety start to kick in. Talking was not his strong suit when it came to strangers, but it was for the pokemon.

The archeops looks at the bibarel, but the bibarel’s stance or expression doesn’t seem to change much, or at all. But Whitey though, seeing the little fella ( “little” ) pop in to join them and ohh, look at that plumage!
Haunted mansion? What haunted mansion?
“Ohh, look at them, wow! Doesn’t that head remind you of something?”
She’s coming closer to the pair without a second thought, that question coming when it’s already too late. “Oh, do they mind? What’s their name—Archeops? Is it their name, or a nickname?”
“I’ve never seen this pokémon before!”
That haunted mansion will just wait in the background…don’t worry, it’s not going anywhere. It better not, because those feathers look cute. Like a baby bird!
❛ Reminds you of what, exactly…? ❜ he was curious as to what she was referring to, but he didn’t seem to get an answer. They just needed to get inside, and no one was checking them in or anything. Long as they had pokemon on them, they were okay, right?
❛ Nope, Archeops doesn’t mind. You got the name right. ❜ Anyone that was fascinated by Pokémon cheered Touya up, even by a little. This mansion was going to be a piece of cake.
❛ But uh, everyone else has gone in already. We should, too. ❜ They were already going against one of the rules, but were rules necessary at this point? Touya just really wanted to explore the mansion. They were really behind, and it was getting him nervous.
❛ C-come on, ❜ he let Archeops go on ahead, before Whitney could do anything to the ancient bird, and started to also walk ahead without her.
( WILD HEARTS. // @idealisticxchamp )
IT’S ALMOST FUNNY THAT, AFTER everything that’s happened and ALL this time has passed, they’d be on the back of reshiram to scout out a suitable location for CAMPING, of all things. words are no requirement between n and his dragon as they soar through the skies at an exhilarating speed; something the trainer and pokémon duo are more than used to. there’s one major difference this time, though: it’s no longer the two of them, but the two of them PLUS a dear friend. touya.
it hasn’t been long since their reunion atop his old castle. after years had gone by since team plasma’s initial end and n’s departure, the reunion went oddly… well. n wasn’t sure what to expect. anger? frustration? sadness? resentment? he’s still unsure of human emotions, but after some heartfelt words and a warm embrace ( a gesture n is new to, as well ), plans had been set for the two to take some time together for some DESPERATELYneeded catching - up.
and that’s how they ended up here. deciding reshiram would be the fasted method of travel AND with n’s choice of camping location. yes ─ camping. simple, yet capable of fulfilling all they needed it to be. there were many places they could go, but n had decided upon something simple, yet new… a place with meaning. a lake of feeling. he hopes touya will like his choice. he gestures for reshiram to land once they’re close enough and the dragon does just that, choosing a relatively secluded area to descend. n’s posture relaxes once they do, and he begins to dismount his pokémon.
❝and here it is, ❞ he announces after stepping off reshiram, gesturing towards the lake, ❝ lake verity. did you know? the legendary pokémon, mesprite, resides here. few have seen them, though. there are many myths and legends surrounding the region of sinnoh and it’s deity pokémon ; it’s what i found most fascinating about this region. ❞ he’s reminiscing now ─ other than reshiram and zorua, he hadn’t anyone to share his experiences with during his travels. while it wasn’t without reason, a part of n wishes he had someone to share it with.
but better late than never, right?
he catches himself oversharing and turns back to touya with a gentle smile, ❝ ah ─ will this location be alright? i’ve… never camped with anyone else, other than my pokémon friends. ❞
While Touya did have a light panic attack before takeoff, he quickly eased his mind when they elevated in the air. His ears unclogged and his head stopped pounding, allowing him to think properly and search for a location. Sure, he was used to flying on his own pokemon, but he’d let them take their time. N was just going a little over the top, though Touya didn’t mind at all. It was Reshiram, after all. That pokemon was meant to glide through the sky so freely. He was glad they were both enjoying themselves, even if they haven’t reached a destination quite yet.
The two of them adventured together on their own. Even though Touya thought about inviting his dearest sister along, he wanted the chance to catch up with N alone. He had so much to tell him, and he knew that if someone else was here, Touya would be too nice and let them take over the talking instead. Maybe later he’ll tell his sister their little camping adventure, and perhaps next time she’ll be invited. He didn’t enjoy leaving her out, but this was his chance to have a stronger friendship with N.

Unlike her twin brothers seemingly jumbled state, Touko herself hadn’t minded the silence, because she’d been staring off into the distance, sipping her drink every now and then, until she remembered.
Hey.
Your brother is here, idiot.
It’s been a while since Touya’s seen anyone he’s known. Well, not completely true, as he does try to visit Nuvema every now and then since his own return. It was just hard when his sister, and his close friend, along with his friends, were all busy. He was busy with his own research lately, but there were moments he had to idle by.
wow I’m sorry I’ve been dead I was at a con...! I’ll get to posts here soon! In the meantime, cap is at [2]!

“Hmm? Ghosts?” For as much of a mutter it’d been, Whitney had caught that one, and with the question before about moves—"Oh, don’t worry! He won’t, umm, attack a ghost, maybe?“
She wasn’t really sure if that had been the boy’s concern, but even she couldn’t say how Bibby would be in a ghost house. That was exactly why she wanted him out now: To see if her usually carefree Bibby was a total scaredy-meowth, or a total no-nonsense hitmonchan!
The potential in that had her more invested than talk of moves, and she walked with giddy bounce to her step, Bibby taking to their backs. She turns once, walking backwards with hands clasped behind her.
"What do you think, Bibby? Jump scares, spooky scenario… Yooou going to be okay?”
Bibarel looks up slightly in thought, but then gives her a nod, to which she gives one back. “Good!” She then turns back around to walk properly, regarding her actual human company. And a stranger, to boot!
“What about you? Is this your first time? They say there’s really ghosts in there!”
…which Whitney wouldn’t mind if there weren’t, and Morty liked to say stuff about there being more than people actually realise, but none of that was really helpful right now!
The mansion was coming into sight before them, the gravel driveway softened by wild weeds splattered around opening up in front of the mansion. Curtains were drawn behind windows except for one or two, and one window at the very top, underneath a old-fashioned clock, was opened wide. But all could be seen was darkness…
but a second look would show the windows closed, fluttering trees reflected in their sheen.
So to put it simply, this girl hasn’t set out this Bibarel on a ghost-scare yet. The Pokemon probably had no idea what it was up against, but it seemed lax enough. Perhaps it wouldn’t be scared of a few ghosts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem the Bibarel will be fighting, but eh.
He had to think of a good partner for her pokemon to get along with. Many of his pokemon were already big in size… this was really a toughie.
❛ …Yep, it is. If it’s not scary as they say, it’ll be a disappointment. But let’s enjoy it while we’re at it, ❜ he tried to stay positive about this. It was just ghost type pokemon, more than likely, nothing else out of the eerie. He was busy thinking super hard about who to bring out. Chandelure was a last resort, in case there really was a strong ghost that needed to be spooked away. His Chandelure could scare off anyone, that much was for sure. He didn’t want to scare away his partner, or her pokemon. Them getting separated would be a disaster.
He flipped on his flashlight and tosses a pokeball in the air. This pokemon will do, even if they were going indoors. They were headed toward a mansion, so maybe it’ll be helpful. His Archeops, someone reliable in the air when he needed it the most. The Pokemon let out a sound of a bird and landed on his arm. It stared at the Bibarel with curious eyes, but it wasn’t approaching just yet.
❛ I’ll have Archeops be my partner. They only want us to use certain amount of pokemon, right? ❜ he enjoyed the thought of limitations. It brought up a challenge.
The mansion was very intriguing to stare at, even from this distance, and in the dark. It definitely gave that feeling of spooky.
pavback:
Rude, brash and always looking to pick a fight, Anzu was unlikely to be considered a caring individual. But when word got around of a poacher in this area, it struck a nerve in the delinquent. If there was one thing she hated in people, it was those who mistreated their Pokémon. She had her own run-ins with other delinquents like herself back in the day, ones who took their Pokémon for granted and only seemed to rely on theirs for what they could do for them.
Poachers, however, were in a different category of despicable. It only took a minimal amount of coaxing from her like-minded Houndoom for Anzu to make up her mind about how to handle the problem.
The strained cry of another Pokémon in the distance prompted the pair to run in that direction. Anzu’s eyes were fixed on a captured Growlithe hanging high from a tree in a net and struggling to escape, but to no avail. Although he tried to maintain a stoic demeanor, a soft whine could be heard from her devilish hound when he saw the pup in the trap.
She reached her hand to stroke her dog’s side in an attempt to comfort him, but the voice of another trainer nearby startled her. From the look on his face, he seemed to be just as worried about the Growlithe as she was. She could have a little confidence that he wasn’t put up to this at the very least.
“Yeah, I am.” Anzu responded, holding her hands up instinctively as if she were being interrogated by a cop. “Do you know who did this?”
After seeing how quick she reacted, Touya could tell right away that she wasn’t a poacher. His pierce eyes softened, and his judgement changed. She was just as concerned about the pokemon. ❛ I’ve been trying to investigate, but it’s been hard. They’re always one step closer, ❜ he looked at the Growlithe with worry. The Pokemon was unable to use its fire abilities to disband the net. How unfortunate. The poacher obviously had some sort of brain, unlike previous delinquents he’s met in his life.
❛ My Serperior will definitely be able to get this pokemon out of the net. I already sent another to browse through the air, but there are many trees. We haven’t had much luck. ❜ At the end of his last sentence, he threw the pokeball, and out came his stunning grass-type starter. The Pokemon stood on its tail, and used a quick Leaf Blade to cut open the net. Even though the net seemed to do some sort of shock, Serperior wasn’t damaged.
Touya started to search through his pockets, but surprising to him, he was out of Potions. The Growlithe needed some healing.
❛ Do you have any healing products on you? ❜ he asked quickly, while his Serperior kept watch of the area. There were bound to be more traps in the area—he knew the two of them would have to work together to safely get Growlithe back home.
It was already starting to get dark, however, and there wasn’t much time until the sun set. He knew they needed to act soon before the poacher made his next move. They’d have to be extra careful, that much was for certain.

“Hmmm?” The Professor had been enjoying a quiet walk, his first break from a conference he was attending here in the Unova region. It had been an arduous few hours for the man, whose typical laissez faire approach to research didn’t jive with the high-strung Professor Juniper. She had exhausted him by the second hour, he was eager to run out at the first sign of a lunch break. The last thing he was expecting was to be recognized.
Wearily he forced a smile, finding the young man’s excitement contagious. “Indeed I am!” He gave a quick bow, never one to skip out on a chance to stroke his ego. “I’m visiting briefly to cover some research with Professor Juniper.” He eyed the shorter man briefly, he was undoubtably a trainer and had the Unovian air about him.
He eyed Touya’s lunch nearby, grimacing as he heard his own stomach grumble. “What is your name? Are you..familiar with my work?”
Feeling enlightened in the Professor’s presence, all because of a simple bow, Touya couldn’t help but feel a little bouncy. He hasn’t felt this excited in a while. It was like encountering a new Pokémon he’s never seen before. Maybe this is just what he needed to start off the day. It wasn’t too late, after all, as it was only brunch! But wow, Professor Juniper, too? He was even more pumped up with enthusiasm.
❛ Of course, I am, Professor! Your work intrigues me! I’m Touya, a Pokémon trainer all the way from the Unova region. ❜ He kinda bowed back, but it was more of a quick nod.
❛ You’re from the Kalos region, and you specialize in Mega Evolution, I think that’s amazing…! ❜ he grinned, ❛ Would you like to join me for lunch? ❜ normally, his demeanor would be calm and subtle. Today was different, and more on the positive side. ❛ I overpack in case I run into any of my friends, so there’s plenty to eat. ❜

It was true that her Cinny would probably get distracted by all the dust and hard to see atmosphere…if it was a true haunted house, debilitated and forgotten over time, but coming to live whenever a visitor entered its doors!
A satisfied smile popped onto her face, especially at the thought of her Bibby out with her, lifting his ball higher than Cinny’s. ’Can we get going?’ She tucks away Cinny’s ball, giving her partner a “Suuure,” then releasing Bibby with a beam of light and sound at her side.
The bibarel stands, looking like any other bibarel—but with a similar dazed expression, much like a slowpoke.
Whitney gives him a pat on the head, giggling and putting away the last ball, turning to the boy. “Okay, we’re ready!” she assures him, offering a thumbs up.
Bibby slowly turns his head to look at Touya, with a blank expression…
“I can’t wait to see everything!” Her volume goes down a notch, but without losing its natural cheery energy. “One of my friends trains ghost types… so I have a lot of experience with them!”
In a way.
Letting out a small ‘woah’ at the sight of the Bibarel—much as he expected it—he looked surprised. The Pokémon was cute, despite what people have said about it. But maybe his tastes were just different than the rest. Honestly, he loved all Pokémon, and he could tell this girl was a very good trainer. The Bibarel looked well-trained and taken care of.
He was just thankful that his partner had a positive attitude. Everyone else that went on ahead of them seem really shaken, and really, he wasn’t sure if he could deal with that. How long her positivity will last though, he was uncertain. While the Bibarel’s trainer spoke, he waved at the Pokémon, and gave him a soft smile.
❛ Oh, good. We shouldn’t have any problem up ahead, then. ❜ he would gladly assist if he needed to, but maybe he should see how much potential his partner had, first. No need to give away the fact he was most likely the strongest trainer in the mansion.
❛ What moves does Bibarel have? Something that can go against ghost types, I hope… ❜ he muttered the last bit. If she had experience, then Bibarel should have moves effective against the ghosts. Hopefully.
Touya started to lead the way while he socialized with her, feeling his confidence have a slight boost. No need to be scared!
