“ well. glad we’re on the same page in flying directly toward our demise. ” it was the inquisitor’s poor attempt at HUMOR – which didn’t quite land with her dry tone. even the smile she offered iden – thin and restrained as it was – couldn’t help the sentiment. “ at least you have backup. i’m glad you spoke to me – there’s no world on which you should’ve done this on your own. ” at the very least, she and iden would have each others’ backs. when iden asked if she was ready, she sucked in a breath. “ and what if i said no? ” trilla offered – still an attempt at humor. she is, in fact, as ready for this as she’ll ever be.
once the ship was docked, trilla followed iden to her feet, although she had considerably less preparation to do. retrieving her saber, the second sister attached it to the sheath on the back of her uniform. the only other weapon was the rarely-used officer pistol at her hip, though she didn’t bother to check the ammunition. she could count on one hand the amount of times she’d fired that blaster. all she would need is her lightsaber – it’s almost all she ever needed.
moving to stand behind iden, she gave her a quick nod of approval, waiting for her to use the controls to open it. once they stepped off the ship – the second sister was greeted by the flash of emergency lighting – the only light to be illuminating the long hallways they stepped into. the eerie silence, flashing lights and what sounded like a distant alarm were enough to make trilla want to reach for her saber. she hesitated, instead taking several steps down the hall and in front of iden.
“ remember – neither of us is at the other’s command. you see something out of place, you act. we’re in uncharted waters here. ”
HER CRACK ON HUMOR DIDN’T GO UNNOTICED. IF ANYTHING IDEN cracked her own small smile upon hearing it. Though she faced another direction, the smile was still there. No, it wasn’t the most smart thing to do, but it was time this secret was uncovered. Despite it being given to them by a rebel, and again, she knew the risks. Her father would be upset, but it was something she would deal with when she got back... if she got back, “ Oh? ” a brow arched at the other’s words, “ Though I don’t doubt my skills, I would rather have someone looking over my shoulder in this sort of situation, ” a beat and a hum, then she pressed the release button for the door, “ Then I would have said too bad. ” Iden turned to her with a small grin.
AS SOON AS THE DOOR HISSED OPEN, SHE WAS ON guard. They were met with flashing lights, a faint alarm in the distance. She took in a breath, and then stepped into the prison barge. Her blaster was held up before her, stepping with surprisingly quietness. There was a heaviness in the air. It was thick, and felt like she could suffocate. An odor filled the space that filled her stomach with dread. It was sickening, actually.
IDEN ALLOWED HER TO STEP FIRST THIS TIME, MAKING SURE no one came up from behind them. So far, this place was just... empty. Echoes of the ship groaning in her ears. Besides that, it was far too eerie for her. She already didn’t like this, and wanted to call it a mission. Her nerves were high, but it only worsened when she saw blood streaks across some of the walls, but nothing far more major than that. Something did happen here, but could it possibly be what Han Solo had suggested?
WITH A SMALL ADJUSTMENT OF HER HAND, IDEN GLANCED BACK at Trilla. She took in a soft breath, and it shook through her body, “ I really don’t like this. ”
