As the year draws to a close, I want to express my love and appreciation for the Dead Boy Detectives fandom.

For me, 2025 was the year I finally started to put myself out there more, after many years of self-imposed isolation. And I started writing again, something I hadn't done in a decade and had no real confidence in doing.

In all this, I was met with so much openness and support from our lovely fandom. I made friends, I got the most wonderful response to my creative adventures, and nobody seemed annoyed when I sent flowers to so many people back in July lol (yes I was a little worried about that, and what happened instead was a wave of the sweetest responses imaginable 💐).

There are so many amazing, smart, creative people in this community - and it truly does feel like a community, something which isn't true of every fandom. Every day I see so much beautiful art, so many amazing fanfics, thoughtful analyses and funny shitposts. People organize events, zines, campaigns, meet-ups. And let's not forget everyone who reblogs, comments, likes, leaves kudos, or simply lurks. Everyone here is part of what makes this space feel so welcoming and special. It's been well over a year since our show was cancelled, but the fandom is alive and well.

I love you all, and I'm looking forward to another great year in the Dead Boy Detectives fandom 👻🔍 I hope 2026 will treat you kindly 💛💛💛
