IDOLLITES is a collective/listing that accepts each and every roleplayer whose muse is related to the Korean entertainment industry. That includes general, AU, as well as OC muses!

No, we’re still closed — and also still working on coming back, even though it’s going kind of slow. When we do come back, we’ll most likely move to a new blog but we’ll definitely let our followers know. :)

We’re closing!

At least for now. It’s been almost a whole year, but now things have become really quiet on here, which is why we decided to end this chapter and start something new -- eventually. For now, the Idollective as well as Seoullective are closed until further notice. But if we come back, we’ll most likely return with a different concept than the one we had now.

It’s been a lot of fun and I hope you’ve all enjoyed your stay with us, if it’s been a few days, weeks, or maybe even from the start until now! We will be clearing the masterlist and everything once we revamped, so feel free to unfollow us. 

But the Idollective and Seoullective as they are right now are coming to an end.

WHAT GOT HER INTO MUSIC?

Songs that her father likes revolved mostly around her childhood which explains her rather interesting music taste. But it wasn’t until she got punished on class for being too noisy during middle school and made her sing at an event in front of the entire school body that Jieun discovered her ultimate goal— standing on stage with all of their eyes on her while she was singing her heart out. That’s what she wanted in her life. To be heard. To be watched. To sing.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Jieun got in the entertainment industry at a young age. While her classmates and same-aged friends prepare for their college entrance examinations, she was having a photo shoot for her album. To her, she never got into puberty, figuratively. It was as if she was forever stuck on the mind and perspective of a high school student while others attend universities or had already established their own business. Jieun wanted to grow up but more importantly to improve her skills on socializing as she became quite unsociable due to the fact that she was mostly working alone.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

When I got into KPOP, I happened to watch a drama which has IU in it. (Dream High) And as expected with her sweet and bubbly charms, she got me hooked. It was also then that I discovered this type of hobby and IU became the first muse I roleplayed. To be quite honest, I had no any idea about her except for what Wikipedia told me and the bunch of profiles I found around the internet. I then played her like the adorable thing that I saw on a handful music videos that I watched. However, it was also roleplaying that made me a huge fan of the songstress. I studied her, went back during her early days to present and watched almost all of the variety shows and interviews she was a part of in order to develop my muse. I learned a lot about her and was very blown away on how mature she was at such a young age. IU has a very lovely soul that I find inspiring and not only she dance with a marshmallow mascot or belt those high notes, she can also kill cockroaches with her bare hands.

WHAT GOT HER INTO MUSIC?

Jinri was exposed to the performing arts at a very young age after being enrolled in acting school. It was there that music caught her eye for the first time and ultimately became her one true goal in life. Jinri was born to be a performer and as much as she enjoyed acting, she wasn’t able to fully express herself the way singing on a stage could. After a few roles in movies and dramas she finally had enough recognition to move on with her dream and convinced her mother to let her audition for SM Entertainment in 2005 where she passed and moved on to trainee which has led her to where she is today.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

In the idol world Jinri has had a hard time with how much she lacks in skill compared to those in her group along with other idols. She’s known for having a beautiful face, but she wants to be known for much more than that. Improving on her vocal quality in order to project a stronger sound compared to the soft tone she normally sings in is one of the things she’d like to improve upon as well as cleaning up her dancing skills to be more precise like her fellow group member Luna, who dances extremely well.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

From even before her debut, Sulli has always been my favorite idol. There’s so many endearing and charming qualities to her that drew me in entirely and nearly 5 years ago when I decided that I wanted to roleplay it was an easy choice.

WHAT GOT HER INTO MUSIC?

Irene always looked up to her role idol, which in this case was BoA, and since calm and relaxing music would inspire her to make something out of it, she also likes singing and dancing a lot. Everytime she stepped on a stage she would feel free, so she decided to audition for SM. “I like singing and dancing. I was standing on stage during talent shows and I really liked it.” she said when she was being interviewed once and they asked her the reason she decided to be an Idol.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

There are a lot of skills that she would like to improve, her acting and rapping skills being one of them. She also wants to work harder on her dancing skills and mainly have Red Velvet do good in the future.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

It’s true that I am still learning some aspects about Irene and still figuring her out but I only choose Idols who captivate me in ways no other can, so I started off by watching videos, then pictures and something about her got me really interested. So here I am.

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

Starting from a young age, Taehyung always had an avid love for music and that love only grew stronger as he got older. Music played a huge role in shaping him into the person he is today and it gives him a mode of expression that can be understood by anyone. For as long as he can remember, and still until this very day, Taehyung has always been seen as “weird” or “odd,” always standing out with his energetic and quirky personality. When he joined BTS, though, the way he could use music and dance as an outlet to channel all that energy gave him peace of mind as well as did the warm, accepting welcome that the other members and fans gave him. Now the music itself is its own reward and it only further fuels his aspiration to continue striving in the field.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Ever looking to improve on anything that would make him into a more fine tuned artist, Taehyung recently debuted as one of the credited writers on BTS’ recent comeback. As such, along with his long sustaining goals of improving his vocal and dancing skills, he’d also like to focus on developing his writing skills as a composer and lyricist. Following the same line of thought, ideally he’d like to finally be able to rap but if frequent feedback and results of trials are anything to base this likelyhood upon, it’s something he’ll have to continue working at for some time.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

Since BTS’ debut, Taehyung has always drawn my eye in the sense that he is a truly pure and honest human being. He is always himself without fear of what others would think of him and I admire that so much because in this society, it’s hard to hold onto what makes us who we are. But instead of suppressing and shying away from his nature, he wears those qualities like badges of honor and that self confidence he has motivates me to be just as honest with myself, too. So you could say he’s, in a way, an inspiration to me and I’d like to further explore his dynamic and whimsical personality while sharing it with others.

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

Before debuting with SHINee Minho modeled for Ha Sang Baek's Seoul Collection F/W 08-09 in March 2008. In 2008, he was chosen as a member of the group Shinee, the 5-member boy group debuted on May 25, 2008. Minho is known to have written and co-written several of the raps in Shinee’s albums. For Shinee’s 1st studio album The SHINee World, he co-wrote the raps to “Replay”, “Love Like Oxygen”, “Love’s Way”, “One for Me”, “Graze”, and “Best Place”

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Minho debuted as an actor on November 20, 2010, he is currently both acting and singing. He knows his schedule can sometimes be very stressing and he’s working really hard on managing both the best his can.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

Choi Minho is one of the kindest people I’ve met and although I don’t have a favorite in SHINee I feel like his personality shines through the best and he will be an easy person to portray, besides there aren’t that many Minhos out there and I want to give my muse life.

The Idollective is presenting you Actress Soeun!

WHAT GOT HER INTO ACTING?

As a child, Soeun trained professionally as a national skier. It was until her training was put on an indefinite hold after being scouted as a professional model in the year 2003. At first she was into sports, but later making her official debut in 2004 with the move Two Guys. Later picking up minor roles, and slowly gaining more parts as she had gone along. Soeun finally rose to fame in 2009 with the supporting role of ‘Chu Gaeul’ in the drama Boys Over Flowers and the following year landing her first leading role in A Good Day for the Wind to Blow. As the years she had been acting, she had fallen in love with the career, thus educating herself in theater during her University years.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

There is always room for improvement Soeun thinks. She still feels that she needs to practice her acting skills in order to do better in front of the camera, wanting everyone to know her name through her abilities as an actress and most importantly take up roles that will help her build through out her career.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

I’ve fallen in love with Soeun when I saw her in Boys Over Flowers. She was my favorite character even when I watched the anime and japanese live action. That role was my favorite and because of that; I ended up watching all of her older and newer roles. Soeun isn’t a popular face claim, and she is somewhat being known more while being in We Got Married, and hopefully through my roleplaying. People will have some awareness of this wonderful, lovely woman, as well as making her a good muse that people will love to talk to and not feel intimidated. Overall, she is my all time favorite actress, and I’ve been meaning to find a new muse for myself. Hopefully, she will stick with me for a long time.

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

It was actually Minki’s father who had initially wanted to become a singer; however, his family had opposed the idea, saying that he ought to pursue a more reasonable, more practical career. While Minki was a still a child, he was greatly inspired by American idols such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Lady Gaga. Added in with the support of his family, who encouraged him to explore and expand his growing musical talents, Minki began to dream of becoming a singer who could reach out and touch others in a way no one else could– someone who could bring strength to his fans. By becoming an idol, he’d finally made his father’s dream come true, which strengthened the already extremely close relationship between the two.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

At Pledis’s studio, Minki is constantly at work practicing and perfecting his singing and dancing, and he finds himself improving every day, so they aren’t a huge goal for him; instead, he wishes to grow in things such as fashion design. Ever since his debut, he’s loved fashion and beautiful clothing and has even taken part in several runway walks. He’s stated various times that if he were not a member of NU'EST, he would have pursued a career in clothing. Although he loves clothing, he doesn’t have a favorite kind of style, but he enjoys wearing accessories that look good on him and match his personality.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

Ren was actually first introduced to me by my friend Ebony, who would occasionally post photos of him on social media sites. At first, I didn’t think all that much of him, despite the fact that I thought he was beautiful, but eventually, after a month hiatus, I’d rejoined the KRP community and decided to use him as my next faceclaim. I researched him, his group, listened to all of their songs, and because I wanted to be general, looked up as much information on he and his band mates as I could. To put it simply, I loved what I learned and grew not only to adore, but admire and absolutely obsess over him. He was literally everything I considered to be perfect– young, beautiful, talented, and his sense of humor didn’t hurt, either. As of now, I’ve been portraying this idol for a little over two years, and have found it difficult to roleplay as someone else ever since. He’s been my only muse for a long time, and I absolutely love him, like, a lot.

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

Taehyun was always that questionable child in his class. He was never one to get dirty with the other boys; he never wanted to go outside and flirt with the girls. Instead he directed his interests to music and found love in its notes. His mother worried about him due to his disability but it only drove him to his passion all the more. Not many knew it but he was slightly deaf in his left ear and so it was as if it was a miracle that he was able to sing the songs he composed. Music was a way to get away from the ugly world and when he had to face it, he was able to find beauty in it’s seams. He grew up perfecting his art without any professional coaching before auditioning for YG’s private audition and earning a spot as a trainee. It was an emotional time for Taehyun, his dream was becoming a reality. Now it was time to show the world on YG’s show Winner. To others this seemed a simple show but for Taehyun it validated all his hard work and efforts. He truly was a winner.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Taehyun would love to improve his acting skills. He knows that he has what it takes, if he put his mind to it, however he first wanted to focus on music which is his passion. Taehyun was always known as the crybaby and emotional maknae and so he wants to show the world that he has things to offer.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

Honestly, I feel that out of all my muses Taehyun relates more to me. He isn’t my first choice but after only portraying him for a short time I see that I can do many things that I couldn’t do with my previous muses. Even though he isn’t wildly roleplayed I find that I’m very comfortable while portraying him. At first I thought I would quit roleplaying because i lost all energy to rp anyone but then I found him and I can say I found home.

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

Sunggyu has always been into music for as far as he can remember it, and so has his dream about being a singer. Since his parents weren’t fond of his dreams, Sunggyu practiced in secret while he had a band called “Coma Beat” with a few friends of him from High School. After graduation, Sunggyu went to Seoul to pursue his dreams and auditioned at SM-entertainment twice while living on the money he earned from his part-time job in a meat restaurant and in a cafe where he served, but didn’t make it through the auditions with success. Later that time, Nell’s manager whom he coincidentally met at the cafe he worked, recommended him to do auditions at Woollim-entertainment and that’s how he started to live his dream.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Sunggyu is a vocalist who shows clear interest in improving himself as a vocalist, as an artist and as a performer. According to him, he generally focuses on the message of the songs he sings, rather than the technique. He possesses interest in being a versatile vocalist and is working to improve on many areas in his singing, in many different genres, exploring R&B, Indie and musicals as well as Pop.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

As sappy as it sounds, Sunggyu is the only Korean idol I’m truly interested in and want to spend my time on getting to know him better. I started roleplaying him mainly because he’s my favorite idol, but through the years of roleplaying him, I got more serious about my muse and wanted to roleplay him as accurate as I could to give other people an idea of how the real Sunggyu is through the conversations between our muses, as well hoping to get more people to love him for the person he is and the music he makes.

WHAT GOT HER INTO MUSIC?

for years, hyejeong has found solace in her love for music. while she was more inclined towards becoming a model with her notable height and striking features, her inner fangirl got the better of her and she followed in the footsteps of g.o.d. to become a singer herself, discovered by an fnc entertainment scout during a modeling competition her mother had signed her up for. though she may not have specialized in any single instrument similarly to the others, she was a fast learner and her enthusiasm for music helped her improve for debut.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

having a background in competitive cheerleading, dance would probably be the closest thing to a forte—she’d love to be able to perfect her skills considering she’s looked at as a professional now and combined with her love for it, her and two of her members have hopes of forming a dance unit sometime in the future.

being hyejeong for so long, it’s amazing how much i love her and how similar we are. she’s so down to earth and genuine about anything she does and i admire the fact that she enjoys everything that comes her way, something i try to do myself. i hope i can portray her as accurately as possible!

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

Aron was interested in the music industry from a very young age. Rapping specifically had always been a major interest for him and though he was raised as an American he was always fascinated by the Korean culture and music style. At the age of eighteen he bought a plane ticket and moved to Korea with the hopes of being acknowledged for his talent. He worked hard to learn the language, and was placed into Nu'est only a few months later.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Aron would like to improve quite a few things about himself, though all revolve around his knowledge of the Korean and Japanese languages. He would like to perfect both languages, and also improve his ability to rap in either language.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

I chose to roleplay Aron thanks to a recommendation by a friend. I was fairly new to Kpop, and I had been debating roleplaying for a few months before she mentioned how much I reminded her of Aron. At the time I hadn’t known much about Nu'est, but fell in love with them immediately. Aron, naturally, was my bias out of the boys and thus my account was born.

The Idollective is presenting you iKON’s Jinhwan!

WHAT GOT HIM INTO MUSIC?

From a very young age, Jinhwan had been interested in music. His mother was a violinist and she would play songs for him, singing as well. When he reached an age, where he could memorise lyrics and tunes, he began to sing along, earning praise from all of his audiences. He was told he had been gifted with a soothing, sweet and melodious voice. Jinhwan has always enjoyed performing as well; he loved and longed to move the audience with his voice and his performance. He was a part of the SM Academy, in 2010, before he joined YG Entertainment and the first grouping of Team B, in 2011. After many trials, tribulations and achievements, he is a very proud member of the upcoming boy group, iKON, set to debut, mid-2015.

ANY SKILLS HE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

Although Jinhwan may seem pleased with his abilities, he is far from it. He believes he is just ‘passable’ in singing, dancing and performing. His song-writing, composing and producing skills are pretty much non-existent. Hence, his goal is to work and practice hard so that he can sing, dance and perform to the best of his ability. He would also love to improve his skills in making songs so that he could help out Hanbin and Jiwon, when they are stressed out from the amount of tasks YG sets them.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

I took a break from the roleplaying world not too long ago and I was wanting to jump back into it. I had only roleplayed in groups on Facebook so I wanted to have a change of scenery. I figured if I was an independent roleplayer, I would not have to deal with the out-of-character drama, which affected the group as a whole. I have been looking for a new muse to roleplay as, and although I had a lot of trouble choosing Jinhwan, I hope my interpretation of Jinhwan opens others’ view on iKON and spreads the word a bit to keep an eye out for these talented young boys!

WHAT GOT HER INTO MUSIC?

She had always been listening to music. It was her way to get buy, to find happiness and to have fun. And along with listening to music, comes singing and dancing – once finding out she had a skill, she soon took advantage of it. She began practicing at a young age, and entered Seoul Performing Arts High School. And not soon after entering school, she got the chance to enter an agency, and found her way training for GFriend.

ANY SKILLS SHE’D LIKE TO IMPROVE?

She would like to improve both singing and dancing. Her ace is in variety shows and image, but when it comes to being an artist she needs to improve a bit.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO PORTRAY THIS IDOL?

I have had a pause from roleplay for a long time, and now as I want to try and venture back in, I wanted fresh blood. And Yerin caught my attention very quickly and after learning about her, I fell in love with her.
