gen z culture is turning to the internet more often than people you know because it just feels. different? the people you know irl hold some amount of power over you, bc they are in your physical reality and if you would trust them enough to tell them about your struggles, then they likely know enough about you to judge you. but people online, we’re all some manner of messed up and we’ve all got issues going on, so you’re more likely to find someone (maybe even a total stranger) that says “same” and offers to help you talk it out, whatever “it” may end up being. people online are willing to do that, to help and not judge, because they don’t know all about you. and that’s pretty comforting, for me anyway.

List of canon villain/heroine ships with happy endings

We all know these situations.

The villain of the show/movie you watch or the book you read is sympathetic and develops a crush on the heroine. The heroine doesn’t share these feelings and chooses the nice guy instead or remains a single, while the villain is defeated and/or dies, sometimes from the hand of the heroine or her preferred love interest.

Or the heroine returns the villain’s feelings, but then it turns out that he faked it all to gain her trust and he betrays her and the rest of good guys. 

Or the villain’s feelings are genuine and - due to the heroine returning his feelings or simply warming up to him - he becomes a better person. And suddenly he dies, saving the heroine’s life.

Are you tired of seeing these scenarios over and over again? 

Do you want to,  at least once, watch a show/movie or read a book, in which the villain gets a romantic happy ending, but you don’t know, where to look for it? 

Or maybe you simply want to know that there already are some canon villain/heroine ships with happy endings, so you have every right to hope that one day such ship will occur in the fandom you’re in?

Worry not and take a look at this list!

While the title of this list is “List of canon villain/heroine ships with happy endings”, it doesn’t contain only ships with male villains and female heroes that end with the villain getting a redemption arc:

-some of these ships feature female villains and male heroes, and there are some homosexual ships (both f/f and m/m) here as well;

-in some of these ships both characters are villainous (or antiheroic);

-in some scenarios the villain doesn’t get a redemption arc and it’s the heroic character, who changes alignment;

-some of these characters may be seen not as villains, but as antivillains or antiheroes - in the end these definitions are fluid and some characters may be really difficult to categorise, especially if they go through a major character development;

-some of these ships are the examples of the enemies to lovers trope, but they don’t involve any characters, who can be categorised as villains or antiheroes.

Some examples are humorous, so don’t treat this list too seriously ;)
