Assalamualaikum, My Name is Ahmad Faiq Irfan
Since the last post, I actually planned for an immediate post of the progress of the whole thing. But the joy overwhelmed us, and I waited till now, to finally made this post and share with the world, the gift from god.
There should be a post with a title "The Hard(est) Part", but I think its not necessary anymore, because in the end, it is instantly forgettable. I'll keep the post short, but full with the photos of our little prince.
To introduce our little bundle of joy, his full name is Ahmad Faiq Irfan bin Ahmad Idraki ( أحمد فايق عرفان ). He weight in 3.25 KG and 48+CM in height. He's a very strong boy and very smart. He likes to look around him and observe his environment. We pretty sure he gonna be a genius soon!
The Hard(er) Part
Around 11 am, the doctor finally came by and start to do some checking. Finally, some good news -- its open up 2cm, that's something. For 2cm, normally, that's nothing much, but in this case, since my wife's water already broke, doctor decided that she should go into the labor room. That's another hard, much harder part.
Went in, they drip her with some medicine, which should help to stabilize and make the contraction to work regularly, to ease and quicken the labor process. My wife decided that she would want to take the jab -- not the epidural -- just the painkiller jab, to let her get some rest to conserve the much needed energy for the real deal. Once she took the injection, she finally able to get some sleep. I thank god for that. Glad to see her getting some sleep.
Her lunch came and I fed her before I then went down for my lunch and take a moment for Zuhur prayer. When I get back up, the nurses were preparing the stuff for the labor; forceps, cotton and all the surgery stuff. I'd say, labor room certainly gave me a goosebumps feeling, because it given you that "Operating theater" feeling, which not something that I'd like. Anyway, the service has open up another centimeters. WIN!
The bad news is, the painkiller start to wear off now. My wife in her greatest challenge yet again.
The Hard Part
I was awaken by my wife around 3:50 am, something was bothering her. She notice that her cloth soaking wet and we realize that its the water — it finally broke.
We immediately ring the bell and the nurse ran CTG and physical test, and it appears there are no opening — not much of improvement.
I barely get any sleep. Probably its the condition of where I’m suppose to sleep caused this, but I did manage to sleep for few hours, sporadically. But my wife, I don’t think she gets any. The contraction getting stronger and growing each minutes. I’m scared that she wouldn’t have the energy for the big part. She’s contemplating about taking the jab for pain killer — we wanted to avoid that, but if she can’t bare it, it probably best to help ease the pain.
We are waiting for the doctor to see what she would suggest for next. I pray god that everything would be okay.
Getting Ready
I went to work today, as usual. Some of my colleagues wished us the best for tonight. I try not to keep my focus on it, keep myself distracted. The day felt so fast. When I realize, that it’s already past 6. Time to pack up and ready myself.
We've prepared the baby’s stuff quite early, probably 2-3 months ago. I enjoyed assembling them, as much as I enjoy listening to my over reacting wife mumbling and worrying everything. We've packed the necessity stuff months ago, when my wife having a scary moment that we decide it could be anytime. So be prepared is better than not preparing anything, at all. So we just gather some stuff that we think we need (obviously that’s include my MacBook, iPad etc).
When we went out of our room, all of my in-laws are waiting for us. They joke around with me, giving my wife a few thoughtful words and advices. Its a nice moment to have, it probably gave my wife the extra motivation that she needed. We wave good bye for the night.
We reached the hospital and go straight to the emergency and given them the green form (the form that the doc has given when they think you are ready or anytime soon), that have the instruction given by the doc. We waited for a moment, and was called again only to be disappointed that the single rooms are all full – including the premier suite. Like it or not, we have to settle with two bed room. Lucky enough, since we came at this hour, highly unlikely there will be someone going to check in (fingers cross), as this type of bed (two, three, four) room are not meant for guys to be wander around. Only if you're the only patient in the room, then you can get the privileged to have your husband (or some male relatives) accompany you through the night.
We still request for a single bedroom, where we got a higher chance to get the next day when other patient discharge from the hospital. For now, a thick, hard bed and pillow are all that my wife get and for me, a nice, quite comfy chair with arm-rest. Not for sleeping, but I can try.
They did a CTG and it didn't shown much of activity. So after a physical test, they push in some medicine to make you feel like you gonna shit and pee, so that you clear your bladder before they proceed with the inducing.
At the moment, they just put the pill and my wife already getting some contraction. Good sign, but we won't know until the next CTG. Until then, I'm off to massage the wife – she've just requested for it.
Hi Muhammed, I am using thumbfolio theme. Its a great work. Thank you. Just I wonder can we change some settings so that when user presses Work/Portfolio button it will show the all works without any pagination? Thanks. best
For now, that won't happen as it uses the normal Tumblr's posts block, so it is limited to the max number of post set.
To get what you want, an implementation of Tumblr's API can solve it.
Hi firstly thank you for your typewriter theme. I'd just like to ask do you know how I can get posts to display when I am not logged into tumblr? It seems as though there is a private setting or am I missing something in the code? Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers, from Beth TOAD Newcastle Upon Tyne UK
You probably switched on the private settings for your blog. Try to look into the blog settings and disable it from Private.
for the tumblofolio thing what do I have to change in the code to make the photostream take pics from my instagram instead of flickr. I don't have a flickr and would like my IG photos to show up in that space.
For Instagram integration you will need to alter a little bit of the script. I suggest if you have the knowledge you can look for Instagram plugin that can help you in creating the Instagram widget.

hi there! I just started using your tumblofolio theme for my photography and it's excellent! just one question.. when it comes to the small previews of the works i.e under the 'recent works' section on the home page and when the small boxes show your work before to click on them to see the bigger picture. Is there any way to change the size of the frame showing the photo because it seems to cut off half my photograph? Brilliant theme though thank you!!!
The way it is now, I guess you gonna have to make do with what it is now. In future update, I'm planning for Tumblofolio 2, things gonna be more awesome
//Hi, I am using your theme and I would want to ask your permission to change it a bit. I want to be able to add a profile picture and to put my main info somewhere else on the page than on top of the typewriting scroll. Can I have your permission? Thanks in advance, Danny
Do as you please. As long as you didn't resell it to some homeless people. That's rude.
Hola! por ahí vi que salías como creador de un theme que sale una máquina de escribir, y de ella salen los post. Me gustó muchísimo! De hecho, siempre quise tener un theme así, de los años que llevo usando tumblr. ¿tienes el link de descarga de su HTML o algo así? Gracias! Saludos!
Me no speak this language, sumimasen!
Hello, Is there an easy way of making a second portfolio page with this theme?
Easy way, no.
Is the flickr photostream widget for tumblfolio still working with the new layout of flickr? I've entered my flickr ID correctly and the link to my flickr works, but it will not show up in the photostream widget.
Ahhh I think not. It's been awhile I'm checking on the flickr implementation. I'll update it one day.
In the portfolio page it lists tag links of works show on that page rather than all of the links for the work in my portfolio. This means In order to see older work you need to click next page in order to see the links to older work. Also the links only show work on the current page so any other work that shares the same tag link but that is on another page is not displayed until you click next page and select the link again. Is there anywhere to display all work in that tag at once? Tumblofolio
Of course there's a way to do it, but with the current theme, no can't do.Unless you tweak the code and integrate the tumblr's API, that can do the trick.
Hi, for the tumblofolio theme, how do you make images in the slider click-through to the post?
You can but it will require some extensive modification to the code. If you know what you're doing, feel free to edit it.
