Red sunrise

May 2017, Creux du van (Switzerland)

Yesterday early in the morning we were sleeping in the car at the Creux du van with Brennweite - Simon Kaufmann Photographie. I looked from time to time from the panoramic roof of the car if the stars were to be seen because we had planned to make some photos with the stars before the sunrise, but the sky was covered with clouds and now and then it rained heavily. Then suddenly, just before the sunrise, I saw a red strip over the landscape in the sky, the sky was covered with clouds everywhere, but there was a thin red strip where the sun was to rise. We grabbed our cameras and ran to the rock walls… While photographing in the direction of the sun, I noticed the red-lit rock walls on the right side. I had to be fast because after each picture I had to clean the raindrops from the lens and I had to take several pictures to get the whole scene on a panorama.
