Changes are a-comin'...

I’ve decided to combine all my subblogs and just have my one massive fandom blog. 

1. Cause I’m lazy.

2. Cause it’s easier. (and that helps with the lazy thing)

3. Cause my TFW blog is Sam/Dean heavy, since I post most of my Dean/Cas to it’s own blog. And I want them all in one place.

4. MAINLY, because I’ve unfollowed quite a few shippers who didn’t align with my shipping preferences and now I want something more streamlined.

5. Also, cause I take HUGE breaks for being lazy and curating one blog instead of 3 is lazier easier better.

#um before we blame this all on dean can we talk about this for a second#to me this is not dean being malicious and lashing out#this is dean being hurt and trying to reach cas—the real cas—any way he can#imagine dean’s frustration: not only did cas betray him but he also screwed up colossally and he doesn’t have the mental faculties to remedy this kind of situation#where leviathans are taking over the world and people are dying#and just as dean gains cas back with a chance of repairing their relationship#cas isn’t even cas anymore.#i mean can you imagine dean’s frustration? he can’t even yell at cas and be mad with what he did to sam and himself because it’s not //really// cas#this is dean desperate and hurt and honest#because at the end of the day nobody cares that cas is broken when the world is falling to shit#how many times do you think dean’s been broken and no one else gave a shit?#dean had to step up and take the world on his shoulders because no one else was gonna#so i don’t see dean being cruel or heartless here#just trying to reach his broken best friend so he can fix things once and for all (via mishcollin)

I totally agree, and it’s also worth noting that Dean is saying here what he’s been told the whole season by everyone around him; he resents that Cas is being allowed to express his pain so plainly. What happened to Cas isn’t his fault, but his ‘madness’ (we’ll use that word for now) is such a blatant expression of the pain he’s dealing with, and Dean has always been taught that he simply isn’t allowed to express his own.

No wonder he thinks, “how dare you"; Cas’ pain hurts Dean, and the other people around him. It’s a flagrant, almost ostentatious expression of misery and to Dean that’s just something people do not do. 

Shut it down, put it away, move on; this is the way that Dean has always lived his life, and confronted with a sadness this blatant must have ripped him to shreds, especially coming from Castiel, whom dean looked to as a constant from the moment he was pulled out of hell. Also, like Claire says, he just wants his friend back; goading him always worked before as a last-ditch effort; why not now? 

Dean’s behaviour in s7 is layers and layers and layers of self-denial and repression, even more than usual, and often the things he says to other people (particularly cas) are more about himself than about them. Dean is hurting, so profoundly, and he can’t say or do a damn thing about it (not to mention the fact that he blames himself for everything that’s gone on between him and cas from s5 onwards).

No wonder he’s fucking angry; i would be, too.
