Today's eye candy is the glossy Lindsay's Faith. This model, made on the Marabella mold, was created for the 2014 BreyerFest Youth/Child live show. Only four were made.
Remember these? Earlier this year Vintage Club members voted on which Semi-Rearing Mustang would be a part of the 2018 Vintage Club. Breyer has announced that the pinto (far left) won and will be Tanner, the exclusive offer for 2018 VC members.
Here's something you don't see every day! This dapple grey Ruffian was found second hand in an Andalusian Family Gift Set, where she took the place of the usual Andalusian Mare. Records exist suggesting that that this mold and color were used as tests for a 1980 Wards catalog advertisement of the #3035 U.S. Equestrian Team set. Did a Breyer employee put it in the Andalusian set, or did this lovely girl find her way there after escaping the factory another way? We'll probably never know for sure.http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/ident…/Classic/Ruffian.htm
Big Ben was introduced in 1996 and is the portrait model of the Belgian Warmblood champion show jumping horse of that name. This mold has a molded on horseshoes and an assortment of mold marks. It was sculpted by Kathleen Moody. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/BigBen.htm
Time for a taste of BreyerFest! This is "Wish on a Star," a 2011 special run model.
One of the earliest Classic series foals was this chestnut Arabian Foal. In 1973 she was sold in a gift set with the Classic Arabian Mare and Arabian Stallion and also on a blister card, where she was available in five different colors. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/Classic/CAF.htm
Isn't this little guy adorable? He's Gilen, Son of Giselle, a porcelain model available in 2009 as part of the Just About Horses Connoisseur series. The mold, sculpted by Brigitte Eberl, is now a part of Breyer's regular line. You can see the rest of the Connoisseur series here:http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/connmodels.htm
Did you know that Holi isn't the first elephant to visit BreyerFest? In 2006 the glossy Copenhagen Nimbo was a special run model with 750 made. You can see both of them here: http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/iden…/Animals/elephant.htm
Isn't this cute? In 1987 the Madame Alexander Doll Club Convention offered this set as a banquet souvenir. It appears to be a #65 Justin Morgan with a small Madame Alexander doll.
Did you know that Marabella, sculpted by Kathleen Moody, is a Morgan mare and the "mother" of the twin foals Amber and Ashley? Amber is even designed to fit under Marabella's neck. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/Marabella.htm
We spend a lot of time looking at vintage models, so here's a look at a brand new model, Paint Me a Pepto, made on the Working Cow Horse (Bobby Jo) mold. Isn't she sharp? http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/bobbyjo.htm
Feeling blue? Serengeti sure is! This glossy Copenhagen Big Ben is a 1998 BreyerFest raffle and live auction piece, with only 26 made. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/BigBen.htm
Want to get an in-depth look at the 2017 releases to date? Eleda from Triple Mountain Model Horses generously donated a Breyer 2017 dealer catalog to the site. It's been scanned in and can be found at: http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/catalogs/D2017.htm
This fine fellow is a dapple grey Mustang (or Semi-Rearing Mustang) made for the 2009 Fun Foals treasure hunt. Collectors bought a stallion and mare from the treasure hunt line and received a foal from Breyer in return for the UPC code from those model boxes. Here are the rest of the models from that treasure hunt: http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/2009treasure.htm
In keeping with this week's weather theme here's Gathering Storm, a Big Ben Collector's Choice model from 2011. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/BigBen.htm
Here's a blast from the past! This is the original Appaloosa Performance Horse, made from 1974-1980. You might recognize his coat pattern, as Breyer has used it a couple of time since, once with the Proud Arabian Mare and Foal in the 2011 BreyerFest live auction. http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/AppPerf.htm
Breyer is continuing its Live Show Benefit Program in 2017, and look at what the benefit model is! Reno is a glossy black pinto on the Buckshot mold. He will only be available at approved live shows this year, so if you want him better start showing! http://www.identifyyourbreyer.com/liveshowbenefit.htm
