Iris would be Grace (cuz stars) and Leo would be rocky (mechanic!!!). First interalien relationship.

Hm to expand a bit, maybe Eva would be Hermes? Since Eva definitely didn't want send Grace to space but had to for the sake of humanity. And I imagine Hermes wouldn't love sending his kids to die (especially if in this au he's just a human with way to many children from one stands or what not). Like the astrophage and petrova line stuff are the same, except it's just Iris.

I wonder if Iris would be more willing to go to space? I mean, you said she would die for her loved ones, and since Luke wouldn't be evil in this au (cuz no camp blood unless we want smash these two together) and the Stoll brothers and everyone, she would think "for everyone that I care for" (maybe Ilyukhina and Yào would be Annabeth and Jason? I would've said Luke but it defeats the point of Iris going to space for him too if he's also here, unless they're positive they'll survive. And I needed a leader which Jason is)

And then you have Leo, whos been stuck in place after everyone died (idk who for his crew), his family awaits on Erid for him, hes sad then Iris comes to his life, saves his planet and proceeds to stay with him.

It would be angsty when you realize Iris is gonna die eventually, unless Leo pulls every maneuver ever to keep them alive because "Iris Leo mates forever statement! "

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL AND IM FREAKING OUT OVER IT!!!

Iris would definitely be more willing to go, after a whole mental breakdown (Iris would be really depressed after remembering that she can’t go back while on the ship)
